I was going back and forth on buying a lemon and kumquat plant. in the past I've killed off my outdoor garden. but I moved this yr and a south facing sunroom and wanted to plant something. So I bought a four foot lemon and two small kumquat trees a month later they are thriving. thanks for the videos
Wow.. your tree so healthy & full of fruits of 2 yrs.. I got 5 diff citrus plants online & it’s now 4yrs old Kishu & only 2 fruits last year.. I’ll follow all your advices & see this year.. All of them are in pots .. biggest pot from HD.. Thank you so much for all your generous tutorials.. More blessings to you.
We are in Palm Springs, so gardening is a challenge. I've moved almost my entire garden to the east side of our back yard, from the west side that was in ground. The garden is now all in pots. Right now I am harvesting one cherry tomato plant. Our lemon tree is flowering, and producing fruit, the orange tree is not, yet. The grape vine has one small new leaf growing. The herbs are doing well. Pineapple is doing well. We've had trouble with our fig tree last summer, but our kumquat tree, which is taller than the house in the ground is producing. We got a great harvest of olives from our tree which was planted out front when the house was built in 1962. I cured them, and they are in the fridge. We have date palms, and they have never cross pollinated, male /female. If you have date palms, I'd love to see a video on them.
We were actually lucky to have bought a seedling of this in Philippines which has tropical climate. I learned much from this vid, & we are becoming really excited growing it after transplanting yesterday! :))
Thank you for all your wonderful tips on gardening, you are amazing. I live in the northeast so I like growing dwarf citrus fruit trees because I have to bring it indoors in the winter. My favorite is lemon trees because I use a lot of lemons, plus looking at all citrus trees makes you feel so happy. Thank you for all your wonderful videos. Happy gardening🍋🍊😃
watched lot of ur videos and have to say it's unbelievable how u would have anticipated things about the present in the past that y recorded so many videos. the patience you are showing is similar to what nature shows with the world. kudos.
hello California Gardener, the dwarf fruit trees are easier to manage if you're living in a residential area. Pest control, regular pruning and fertilizing, dwarf trees are best. I like the Key Limes as well as the mandrine, great video as always! thankyou very much.
Hello, I received a dwarf Meyers tree for mothers day last year and I have watched over it very carefully because we here in Las Vegas do get down to freezing temperatures. We have warmed up lately and it is doing very well and producing many flowers. It's in a pretty big pot so I hope it does well this year. It has grown some but I may nred to trim some of the longer branches in order to stimulate more growth. Thank you for your videos...they are very educational and I have learned a lot from you. Ct.
Carroll Trent I don't think you need to worry about LV cold for a citrus tree. My sister has one for many years and was perfect until it stop producing. It's now been chopped. On a smaller tree in LV, I did apply lots of wood chips and hope it will produce. I (if Trump admin did allow me to travel) will be visiting later in spring.
I have a container Honey Mandarin that I have been growing for 2 years. Very sweet and easy to peel but not seedless. Thanks for the tips on soil ph. I think I need to adjust it a bit to get more fruit.
congratulations!! your nearly at a well deserved 100k subscribers!! I love to watch your videos and you've helped me to grow a lot! I love how you go from start to finish with your videos, not just what is happening at one stage of the growing process. Thank you so much I hope you keep growing for a long time!! 💗
Thank you for your wishes and feedback, much appreciated! Its all because of wonderful subscribers like you that I get motivated to create the content you have been looking at. Happy Gardening!
I see your using the self-watering container in the first part of the video minus the reservoir part on bottom. I tried those and they didn't work that great. The water reservoir is too small and you end up filling it up almost daily. This was another great video, thank you sir!
Hi, I like the way you grow plants and explain the procedure with lot of dedication. Your videos had encouraged me to grow few veggies on my balcony and I am successful. I had seen all your videos from you tube as well as your blog (videos since 2009 odd) they are very educative. Thank for sharing your work and knowledge. LOL I have a doubt.... why don't you ever show up your self in front of camera?
What a beautiful gardening love to watch all the fruit as it hangs on the plant .thank you so much for sharing the method of planting I also am a admirer of plants, fruits,&flowers hope to see some of.your videos on flower gardening
Thanks for making this video, quite helpful! I'm in a cold climate and can only dream of getting the same results, but I'm gonna give it a try. Keep doing these vids, they're motivating & educational... I just love that.
My kids would totally love this. The fruits are so cute! I bought a lemon tree a couple of years ago and it's not doing to well. I think the dwarf trees are better for the urban gardener's. I would love one, if I could find one in my area.
Thank you for your very instructional videos. I have not had good luck growing citrus in containers, I am in Santa Barbara, CA. I use the citrus soil from home depot. Would you please share your potting soil, fertilization methods, and watering schedule? I will just try copying everything you do. Also, your short videos, with only the essential information, are great because it gives me more time to watch other videos and learn. Thank you!
Love all of your videos! I have put in a dwarf peach/nectarine hybrid tree in a big pot just under a Month ago and I'm in Australia so will have to see how I go!!!
Nice tree. It reminds me of Citrus tangerina and Citrus deliciosa shrubs I grow. The fruits are small in size, but with a very deep scent. I can truly tell the difference between what I grow at home and what I buy at the store.
My 15 yr old 6’ wide x 5’ tall Kishu produces 300+ fruits by about Dec. every year. It is growing in the ground. The issue is the skin is very soft so if you want to give a bunch of fruit away you need to clip each fruit stem with long garden scissors or pruner, just plucking them tears off the top part of the skin which exposes the flesh, not good. I fertilize three times a year and water about once a week, extra watering in a heat wave. I live in Orange County, Calif. Fruit is delicious and adults and kids love them for ease of peeling.
I got a Satsuma mandarin tree (only one I could find around me) for my backyard in Southern California. It's my first tree that I have ever purchased. Should I plant it in the ground or in the pot for a good yield? I want to keep the size manageable by myself without any special tools. Tag says it grows up to 10 feet.
LOVE your channel. We did have a dwarf Meyer lemon that died & it must've been to the mite (?) that you mentioned. I need to check for any info you have to combat this as we're now thinking of buying another tree. The two fruits I'm also interested in growing, & am hoping that you will produce videos for help, are passion fruit & bananas. I too am in so Cal (much hotter area than I believe your location), San Fernando valley area. Hopefully your tips will help re this fact! Thank you again!
Love all your videos, so detailed. I find myself growing plants you grow cause there is a proven method working for them already. Atleast to my knowledge, did not see any other RUclips gardening video as detailed and clear as yours. Keep up the great work. I am from A.P, and really love regipallu(jujube) the tiny ones. Do you know of a place that sells these plants ? Or even seeds.
thank you for all tye information.i was given one of these trees and i didn't knos we could eat them as well.they are so little i thought they were only for display.thank you loved you explanation👍
I like your videos.. really great and lot of learnings... I am NJ , I purchased a tangerine plant from HD , its like 8-10 Inch tall, I purchased 18 inch ceramic pot also. what kind of soil I should put in together while transplanting it ,also when and how much plant food I should provide to it ?...
Thanks so much for sharing this video im literally just about to order a few diffrent dwarfs trees for my harden . thank you so much for sharing love your Chanel thanks so much man :)
I learned a lot here. I’ve had a pomelo tree for two years and it’s struggling I think it’s because I only get a few hours of sunlight and because I’ve never reported it when I first got it I didn’t know I supposed to. I put it in a very sunny spot and I’ve been fertilizing it but nothing but white fly battles once in a while
Great video! I just bought some lemon tree seeds and I believe they are dwarf bush type. I can't wait to start seeing some sprout action 😊 Thank you so much for sharing!
I cannot find the Kishu Mandarin anyways near me in Walnut, CA. I was wondering if the Dancy Mandarin is also suited to grow in a container? Or if anyone can recommend a Nursery to me that does sell Kishu Mandarin trees?
Great video! I bought one about a month ago that is supposed to be ready to fruit. I guess I will find out in the spring. Does it need a chill period? What temperature? It is in a container as I live in zone 5. Thanks
Thank you for this helpful video. I have just bought a dwarf orange tree and am wondering how to prune it as the plant has very crowded branches and leaves at the moment. Have you any videos on pruning dwarf citrus? Thanks.
Can you share the potting mix you used or would recommend? Also what which fertilizer di you use? Can you also share the schedule for adding fertilizer? I just got my first fruit tree and hope I don’t kill it 😅
I have tons of flowers on a young 2' Dancy. Do you recommend that I thin either the flowers or the fruit for the first few years, as to direct more energy to the growth of the tree? Thank you!
i suggest you to grow yuzu tree , i've never grown it but it has really yummy fruit and it has alot of health benefits , i want to grow it but i can't find it in my area and growing it by seed take so long time
Hi from North San Diego county! I love all your videos on growing veggies and fruit trees. I was wondering if this Kishu is the type of Mandarin that is sold in the stores as "cuties"? We planted a dwarf Satsuma mandarin in our raised border garden bed last spring but the fruits are larger and not as sweet as I had hoped. Perhaps we will need to try a Kishu to get these sweet, tiny fruits!
have you ever grown the variegated lemon tree, or pink lemon...i have bought several of these trees but have had no luck with them growing or producing fruit
Hi...I'm from India!!!! nice video frnd... before & after flowering what types of fertilizer means which based fertilizer,u r provided for that plant..can pls share with me becoz I wanted to plant citrus in pot!!! I have a normal lemon plant bt max flower are fall off, what should I do to fix that!!!!
Hi can you please tell me where I can purchase the dwarf variety of citrus trees. I have been looking to purchase for some time now but cannot find any.
Kishu mandarin is different from calamondin orange or Chinese orange ?? I hve a dwarf cherry plants & the fruits are too sour. Adding Epsom salt to the plant will make it sweet ? Or any other alternative ?? I love dwarf plants simply bcoz they are cute 😜😂
I did grow them from seeds 7 years ago......and one day someone left the plant in snow. Never tried them again until I got a fresh cutting of a Pakistani mandarin it lasted only for a few days. YYC
Hello!! I bought some nice looking citrus trees from Lowe’s, and they were fine for about 6 weeks, then they had a massive leaf drop. Now each plant only has a few leaves left. Any advice?
hi thanks for uploaded video i want to ask u in the time of bloom flower is that water necessary if necessary than how many times should i give in a week plz give details of watering in container for every plant fruits
First of all, thanks for the making these great videos. I'm curious as to what potting mix you used that the plant flourished like that. I've planted many citrus plants in pots in a mix of 3 parts regular garden soil, 2 parts cocopeat and 2 parts composted manure but they aren't growing well. Can you tell me what I might be doing wrong?
I had made the same mistake. Using "Garden" soil for potted plants is apparently a bad idea since it hold a lot less moisture and often compacts into a harder soil. I switched to "Potting soil" for all my potted plants and I am having much better results.
My citrusses jus dont want to flower. Some are just to jong, but I have some that should be able to flower. At what conditions do they flower normaly. (Dutch weather is not ideal for citrusses. I heard they flower in spring. Would I place them outside in spring, they would definitely die by frost)
Sir how do I fix the problem of my orange plant in pot. I got the plant from nursery and transferred to big pot. It’s leaf are falling, the tree is not growing. I live in Indiana state and it’s still cold here. It’s very cloudy outside. I also added the organic fertilizer and some micronutrients and check water level regularly.
i have enjoyed this video. :-) i had to look up citron though as i have never heard of it. your fruit trees always make me smile and want to try the dwarf as i feel you said it best. there's ample produce and as i have limited space this would work for me should i ever get to do it. if you do grow one in your garden i will be watching in fascination to see what exactly you do with it. :-) as always 👍
Wow i never seen anyone on youtube have a before and after video of their plants. Magnificent content my friend.
Thanks for your feedback, much appreciated!

I love kumquats..not many familiar with that fruit.
These Kishus are amazing. My neighbor has a tree .... They are addicting. This video is great, thank you. I finally was able to find 2 online.

Yes I tried. It's really appealing to see the orange magical color.. Wow. Beauty of the mother nature..

I'm trying to grow dwarf citrus trees on my patio. This was very helpful. Thanks so very much!
Amazing that this video covers the course of two years. Thank you.
I didn't realize peat moss makes soil more acidic - thanks for the tip!
That's such a cute mandarin!!! I want one lol... Cheers mate, I enjoyed the video :)
oh hey, mark watched this 3 years ago! :P
Can get in Oz - called 'sugar bubba' from citrus men for marketing but it's kishu
This is so gorgeous dwarf mandarin tree. I'd love to have this variety in the backyard. Thank for sharing👌🍃🌿🌲🌱☘✅

Have you considered covering the tree with something on cold nights? Or would that be too much of a hassle?
Very helpful and informative video! I'm going to try this!

Since its in a pot you could probably grow them indoors with a grow light
Love how detailed you are! And those fruit look very tasty! TFS😊

My dwarf Kishu is really bushy but has been dormant since getting bigger pot last year. I think the roots are working overtime preventing budding. ?
so beautiful pot mandarin.l will try to plant .thanks for the idea and tips.love it
Those are really lovely. I mean decoratively, not just for the yummies.
Thanks for the advice on the soil I have dwarf citrus tree but I didn't know about the low ph
It's not correct, citrus needs 5.5-6.5 ph and that is on the acidic side of neutral
Love it! I may add a couple citrus to our greenhouse. Well made video!
Is this tree a dwarf grafted to flying dragon rootstock or is it a semi-dwarf? Beautiful tree!
LOVE your channel. We did have a dwarf Meyer lemon that died & it must've been to the mite (?) that you mentioned. I need to check for any info you have to combat this as we're now thinking of buying another tree.

Hi, I really enjoyed watching your videos! I want to grow that variety now. Where did you buy that tree at? Happy gardening to you too🍊🍊🍊

Thanks
Mandarins ate evergreens, they don't need chill hours. Enjoy growing it!
Where did you purchase the grafted Kishu Mandarin from? I am located in Mumbai, India.
I live in sacramento ca just bought this tree to grow in a pot on the patio looks like it should grow great fruit happy with my purchase.
Try tango Algerian dancy king tangor still waiting for my Kishu to fruit great to know it’s delicious 😋
Thank you for this helpful video. I have just bought a dwarf orange tree and am wondering how to prune it as the plant has very crowded branches and leaves at the moment. Have you any videos on pruning dwarf citrus? Thanks.

I liked your 🎥 very much. It answered a lot of my questions. 👍💕😜
I believe that the “Cuties” are actually the Clementine variety - a regular sized plant, not dwarf.
Fantastic
I am form India
Thank you for sharing
Bought a home with a 40+ year old Meyer's Lemon tree!!! Makes SOOOOO many lemons. And only about 8 ft tall!!
have you ever grown the variegated lemon tree, or pink lemon...i have bought several of these trees but have had no luck with them growing or producing fruit

Arijit Ghosh You can use any nice brand of potting mix not potting soil like kellogg .
How about growing almond trees and pistachio trees in containers. I live in Oklahoma and we do get hard freezes? Thanks man
Beautiful ! I♥️ this video. Great video . I wish I had the money to have the plant like this 😞
What fertilizer do you use and how many times a year?

Hello I got a seed out of a cutie Mandarin do you think I will grow to be a productive tree from seed
Do you know anything about page madero s?
My potted kishu mandarin is 4 years old. It has many fruits on it but they are all very dry. Any advise please?
i have enjoyed this video.
