    HI Anne, Thank you for this video. It inspired me to order a TCA peel from Platinum and try it for myself. Have to say I was quite nervous, really burned when I applied it, frosted up after one application, so left it there. Day three, my face is really tight and dry, no peeling as yet. Im glad you made this video so I can keep referring to it. Ive only put Avene'e on my face and Emu oil so far. Might try some Retinol tonight, if Im brave enough. Thanks for all the info Jen

    • @BeautyByAnneMarie

      I hope you see some good results! The retinol helped me to speed up the process of drying out the dead skin and getting it to peel. If you frosted then you should see some peeling. I'd love an update! Lots of love xoxo

    I just did the TCA peel from the same manufacturer. And I was the one that did a 1.5 derma pen. The last time that I did the derma pen was a month ago. The only difference that I noticed with the TCA peel was absolutely no frosting. I think because of the pen, which I have been using faithfully since June, got my skin used to an assault. I think using a peel in between my pen times (every 5 weeks), just makes my skin better.
    I am trying to get rid of ice pick acne scars, so I also did the cross TCA peel which uses 30% TCA on a toothpick into the scar. It went just like the directions said and I did get frosting with that! I actually think that I will be able to stop using foundation in another 6 months or so!

    Yes indeed, I feel you are brave to do this-- and I am so glad you are happy with the results. Your skin looks great! Thank you for sharing. I will be thinking about doing this at some point. At this time, I use lighter peels, such as Real Chemistry luminous 3-minute peel and O.R.G. Skincare mineral peel. I would have to do this type when I am off work for a period of time or in the middle of the week so that most peeling takes place on the weekend. But wow, it seems to make a difference-- great job & thank you again!

      Great suggestion! I am hoping to do another TCA full face peel this spring again. I didn't get around to it this fall like I had hoped. I definitely did notice my skin looked fresher and brighter after this peel. I think if I am consistent with using it every 3-6 months then the benefits would continue to grow. I am revamping my skin care routine for 2017 and I am all about building collagen and cell turnover so I will be doing another TCA again (hopefully every 3 months or so). I will definitely do videos when I do them or my skin after. Lots of love to you! xoxo

      +Shake Up Makeup Thank you Laura! I was really happy with this tca peel and the results...couldn't believe how much skin came off with it! Will definitely be doing it again :) That sounds like a great routine you have with the peels and microdermabrasion at the med spa! I bet you see improvement as well. I added in retin a about 6 months ago and not sure what improvement I have with it, I'm sure some....Like most things, it takes time to see results though. My focus this year is on improving my skin and all these things are great to do that :)) Your skin looks beautiful so whatever you are doing is working! Love you!

      It's really not that bad, I did have 2 days that I thought I looked too peely to go out in public (I also looked like a mummy the day before it peeled). The skin came off in sheets though and in the shower I could just roll it off my face (not to be gross but it was satisfying!) I thought my skin looked better after and brighter. I need to do it again, I didn't get a chance this fall. I hope to do it at least twice a year. xoxo

    Many years ago i got a tca peel for at home use--it was a lower strength i think than this---i lasted about 15 seconds and couldn not get that off my face fast enough!!! I thought i was burning my face off!!! How are you standing that?? Doesn't that burn like heck? i'v been afraid of at home peels ever since then...this i s wonderful video and so informative but please let me know--did it hurt like heck??

      It wasn't too bad, it did have a stinging sensation but honestly I find glycolic peels to be so much worse (they burn and itch on me). Maybe it was the difference of the brand used? I think the platinum skin care one I use have a "cool action" to them which helps to make it more comfortable while it's on which really helps. Lots of love xoxo

    I have been using a 20% glycolic peel for a long time, and I'm still afraid to a use TCA peel. I'm getting ready to order more but I'm thinking I may need to get the TCA, I have to admit I'm a little nervous about it! I'm surprised I haven't seen this video before now. Hi Anne! I have so many thoughts and questions that I don't know where to begin! So, I'll just list them as I think of them and apologize for such a long post. :-) First, I don't remember which video we spoke on about my using Retinol and working my way up to tolerating Retin A... so I'll say here that I have been adding moisturizers and anti-aging creams and serums to the Retinol product I recently started using. It DOES seem to tame the irritation somewhat, but it requires a lot and I still look like an old crone for a couple days. I use Skinn's Collagenesis Crème Reverse creams (peptides) and Salma Hayek's Nuance line... serum, moisturizer, and creams with peptides. Ceramides and peptides seem to be most beneficial, but I still get that mask face and peeling. Hexapeptide-9 for healing seems to have enabled me to use the Retinol 3 times a week after just a few weeks. Do I HAVE to have the irritation and peeling for Retinols or Retin A to be actually effective?? If so, how much peeling indicates it's working? Now, about TCA: Why would one do these peels if already using Retinol/Retin A? Are both required for maximum potential? As in it speeds up the results so I can catch up to the results I would have had by now if I had started Retin A 20+ years ago like Jenifer? :-D How often should a person try to do TCA peels if they're also using Retinols/Retin A? How long after a peel until I could resume the Retinol/Retin A? Is the peel just a seasonal thing to remove any additional damage I may get from summer sun? Shouldn't I put it on my neck and chest too?... I wondered why you just did your face. Is this better at removing lines, wrinkles, and stimulating collagen production than Retinols/Retin A? I'm forgetting questions! lol Thank you in Advance, Anne. You and Jenifer have been so very helpful in my latest attempt at Retinol. I think I may actually be able to get back to Retin A again and tolerate it this time with what I've learned from you two.

    • @BeautyByAnneMarie
      @BeautyByAnneMarie  8 лет назад +4

      Hi! Great questions! From what I have heard and read, you don't have to have all the irritation to get the results of retin a. Plus, if you exfoliate regularly you may not notice the dead skin that gets exfoliated away. I have always been irritated by both retin a and retinols and I find that mixing Weleda skin food with mine is what really cuts down on the irritation for me and makes it possible for me to use it and not look horrible. It's a thicker moisturizer, almost greasy when you put it on but soaks in by morning. I mix equal parts (maybe a touch more of the weleda). I also found a retinol face and body cream that does not irritate my skin at all (NatureWell brand) it comes in a big pump container and I use it head to toe 3 nights a week (I do not mix anything with this one) and then use retin a/weleda mix 1-2 nights a week. I wish I had started retin a/retinols long ago too, but better late than never ;)) For TCA, I have done my chest and backs of my hands before and it worked great. This was my first TCA I have done on my face and I really liked it. It takes off a few more layers than retin a in a weeks span, so I stopped my retin a/retinols a week before and didn't start using them again until a few days after all of my peeling was done (about a week after I applied the peel). I haven't tried the peel on my neck just because my neck is sensitive and I'm nervous to do it there. Maybe if I applied a single layer this lower strength 13% TCA (I did 2 layers on my face). Both retin a/retinols and TCA are for stimulating collagen, wrinkles, reducing age spots, tightening the skin...I wouldn't say better but I do like to do a TCA peel at least once a year and use retin a/retinols for maximum benefit (remember I stop one week before/after my peel). I hope I have helped some! I really appreciate you watching! xoxo

      May I ask did your hands peel? If so, how long did the peeling last? And how often do you do a TCA peel on the face?

    • @BeautyByAnneMarie
      @BeautyByAnneMarie  8 лет назад +1

      I've only done this deeper peel on my face this one time. My hands did peel, but it took longer for the peeling to begin than it did on my face. As I remember my hands peeled for about 4 days maybe (I was glad I did the hand peel in the winter so I could cover my hands some with long sleeves) ;)) I will most likely do the face peel at least 1-2 times a year (although it can be done more often than that). I think the tca peel does really improve the skin. xoxo

    I love your video. I used this exact product and did 3 peels: first time 2 layers with no frosting and minimal peeling. Second time a few weeks later I did 3 layers, and still no frosting and minimal peeling. Today I did 5 layers and only a tiny bit of redness around my hairline, probably because that’s where I first touched my face with the pad of TCL. I also ordered this company’s strong retin A and applied this, followed by emu oil. Now, I’ve ordered the 20% now, wish me luck. And if you have any advice, please let me know.

    • @BeautyByAnneMarie
      @BeautyByAnneMarie  6 лет назад

      I have used the 20% on my chest area (will be doing that again soon) and saw some good results. The chest takes longer to peel off than the skin on my face did for me. Hopefully you will see some frosting and peeling with the 20%! After the first night I did apply retin a at night to help it dry up and peel off faster. Sounds like you did it right, maybe you do just need the stronger strength peel-- I'd love an update! xoxo

      Hi! I did see overall improvement to my skin (less dark spots, healthier, firmer looking skin). It does sting quite a bit (glycolic and lactic acid peels sting me really bad, this was about the same maybe a little less). I would definitely look at their website if you have very sensitive skin though. I was quite red for several hours after applying the peel. Hello I use tca peel since long time now at the least 2/3 strong peel 35 % a year plus light peel 12,5 tca every month, I'm wondering why you don't apply the tca on your upper eyelid?

      Thank you! I would start with a product that helps to build collagen (a retinol, retinaldehyde, retin a, or peptide products are all good for building collagen). I like dermarolling with a 0.25 or a 0.5mm roller as well (the 0.5 helps to build collagen when used 1x every week or two). I think that's where I would start personally and I hope this helps! Yes, I think you could. There were only 2 days of peeling that I stayed in for. I can't remember (this was done a few years ago, but believe it was days 3 &4) I do say in the video which days were the worst as far as most peeling (it's towards the end when I show what each day of peeling looks like) but yes, I'd do what you suggested and just apply the peel so at days 3 & 4 you are not at work if possible. +MrsLoretta Hi Loretta! I only use the lowest strength (13%) which is safe for at home use and am very careful with it ;) It did sting but not as bad as at home glycolic or lactic peels do on me and it was much more effective than those as well. I have done tca peels on my forehead, chest and backs of the hands before with great results but this was my first full face one so I definitely went with the lowest strength which can be repeated every 2 weeks (I will most likely only repeat it once a month or once every couple months). I found this video helpful and informative. I bought my 13% TCA peel. My first peel I used two layers, and only peeled around the marionette lines. The rest of the week I waited and waited for more shedding. I showered every evening and hoped it would help shedding progress.... but it didnt. I even used the Luminosity syringe 3 nights following too. So, I repeated the peel last night....it's funny tho....it burned, but I didn't get red (or even pink), and 2nd layer same.....and no frosting, but like I said it did burn.
    Today, Ive had some redness and the tight feeling. Since it had only been a week since the original peel, I didn't want to push it, so I stopped at that 2nd layer.
    I am a fan of Jenifer's channel and that's what lead me to this video. I sent her a message today about a mask I found at my local Walmart. Last night I was watching some videos of 20%-25% TCA peels and wondered if there is a paper mask that is safe to apply immediately after the peel just to help with the burning....but to allow for some moisture at this critical time. I remembered I had bought this mask and read the ingredients...I was pleasantly surprised that the ingredients are very moisturizing and keeps moisture locked into the skin. It was only $1.50 for the mask....WHICH I LOVE....but they only had two in stock. I so hope I have better luck with TCA this go-round. I purchased the 1oz bottle, so I'm going to finish the bottle. I heard an Esthetician say to do the TCA every two weeks for 6 peels.....take three months off....then go back and do the every two weeks again....that should finish out one year. I'm shooting for that regiment....and boost up to 20%.....however, I'm not sure that every two weeks is safe with that strength.
    I enjoy your videos, and I just became friends with Jenifer on FB not too long ago. You both give good advice and product reviews. I've purchased quite a few products Jenifer had luck with after doing some additional research.
    I'm 49. I have always tried to take care of my skin, but I have sun damage and fine wrinkles in the normal places. I sorta plateaued and became aggravated with not seeing results. I was in the midst of researching Dermatologist and medical intervention to reverse what I was seeing in the mirror. So, thank you so much for bringing good information to all of us in the ageing 'SLUMP'.
    Is that video of the TCA PEEL the only one you have on RUclips? I was looking thru your videos and seen only that one. Are u considering a higher TCA peel? My way of thinking is 'If im going to subject myself to the intense burn of a Peel then I'm going to make sure I get VISIBLE RESULTS afterwards.
    And....I'm in love with Emu Oil. I ordered mine from Skin Obsession and I am very impressed with it. It's a very versatile product.
    Keep up the good work!
    Shelly

      Hi Shelly! Thank you so much. This is the only TCA video I have although I might do another. I am still finishing off my 13% bottle. I think once I am done with it I will go to the slightly higher percentage (20% I think). I agree, if you are going to do the peel and have the burn and some down time you might as well get full effect. I haven't heard of those paper masks but will look them up and then look for them at Walmart. Thank you so much for the info! Emu oil is great and good to put on after a peel. I'm the same age as you and I have the sun damage and wrinkles (mainly around my eyes which is a hard place to treat). I did think my skin looked better and brighter after this peel even though I didn't get frosting all over (only under my eyes and it peeled twice there). I had thin sheets of skin come off all over (I might have had more dead skin layers than you did to get peeling with the 13%). I'm definitely going to do these peels every few months. I would try to do them a little more often but finding a week where I don't have much going on is difficult. I agree with you on the 20% maybe being too strong to do every few weeks, I would think once a month or every 2 months at most but I am not a skin care professional so am not sure on that. This year my main goal is improving my skin (I'm sticking to retin a or a retinol, peptides, exfoliating, sunscreen, hydroquinone and peels) in hopes I see some great results. Jenifer is a sweetheart, I just love her! Thank you so much for watching my videos, I truly appreciate it and hope you enjoy them! I'd love updates from you as you do TCA peels. Lots of love xoxo

      Shelly Wright with TCA is is not the Percentage that makes the Peel. It is the amount of Layers you apply. 5 layers of a TCA 13 will give you a brown and very - peeling face. Multiple layers are also Safer than the higher percentages.
      The Only time you should move up to 1 layer of a TCA 20 is after you have been applying 5 layers of a TCA 13 and want More peeling. Lower % and more layers is safest.

    BTW you're very beautiful. Thanks for the video. Your instructions were very clear and very easy to follow. I just got Platinum Skin Care TCA peel 30 not for my face but for some areas of my body. I spoke to them and they recommended that for me. I've not used it yet but hopefully will use it in a couple of days. If it goes well i will try a lower strength for my face and that would be my 1ST time. I AM SUBSCRIBINGGGG....

      Thank you!!! Yes, I love the TCA peel and besides this 13% I use on my face I also bought a 20% that I used on my chest to greatly reduce my sun damage to that area. You can definitely use it anywhere on the body. Good luck and I hope you love the results! Thank you for subscribing!! Lots of love xoxo

      Hi Carolyn! It did show my frosted areas under my eyes. It was the whitish looking area under my eyes after I had applied the 2nd layer. I believe it's visible in the video and some of the big peeling pieces of skin that I had. I only had 2 days that I stayed at home because I felt like the peeling was bad enough I didn't want to be seen in public, so not too bad of a recovery/peeling time really. I appreciate you watching! xoxo

    Thank you so much for sharing this information with us! It has been super helpful as I research doing a TCA peel myself.
    So, did you end up doing a series of peels? I did 2 lavers of 15% TCA I week ago. I didn't frost at all and only a very thin later of skin peeled. How long did you, or would you recommend, waiting before applying a second peel?

    • @BeautyByAnneMarie
      @BeautyByAnneMarie  7 лет назад +1

      I think I waited about 3-4 minutes between each layer. I haven't done another 2 layer one yet, but have done a few 1 layer which gave a lot of flaking (more than any other peel I have tried) without the down time of 2 days with the 2 layers I did here. I can't remember what the booklet said that they sent but I want to say they said a 2 layer peel could be done every 3-4 weeks. Lots of love xoxo

      Thank you! I really liked this peel and my under eye area is my most wrinkled area. I should do one every month in that area (just a light, one coat at this low %) to tighten that skin up, I think it would make a big difference. Definitely worth doing this peel. xoxo

    Q:hello Anne-marie-had you considered applying the fade bright as platinum skin care had suggested, you didn’t mentioned you had done any pre-treatment before hand. They are stating
    Do do this treatment 2-3 weeks before the peel. I’m unsure if it’s necessary or if they are just trying to sell more product. I watch another video where someone applied tca, and they applied some glycol treatment along with alcohol before treatment. You primarily washed with cleanser and then alcohol and then applied the tca. If you did a pre-treatment i didn’t notice.

    • @BeautyByAnneMarie
      @BeautyByAnneMarie  6 лет назад

      Your right, I did just wash my face and then use a alcohol wipe on it first. I'll have to read up on their fade bright treatment. I do typically use both retinol (or retin-a) and glycolic products in my skin care routine which also helps to prep the skin by increasing cell turnover and getting rid of the old dead skin cells on the surface of the skin. Worth reading about the fade bright product to see what all it does, thank you for mentioning it! Lots of love xoxo

    I have reviewed platinum skin care video on applying this facial peel. They suggest to apply from the outer area of the face toward the interior. I see that Anne Marie is applying this the opposite. Well maybe not the opposite, but mostly from the inside of the face to the outside. I wander does it matter. Who knows, i sure don’t know.

    • @BeautyByAnneMarie
      @BeautyByAnneMarie  8 лет назад

      +Kathy Hi Kathy! Well, I did not wait, I used my retin a right up to the night before the peel, but I think they recommend that retin a is stopped a week or so before (I read something about that in the instructions after I applied it of course). I did use retinol then starting the 2nd night after the peel and throughout the peeling process at night and went back to my retin a a few nights after all of my peeling was done. If I had irritation from the retinol at all I would have just used my Avene product that I used right after my peel which is very healing and gentle. I hope this helps some. Thanks so much for watching, I appreciate it! xoxo

      I did, I think I stopped a week before and then waited a good week after the peeling stopped with retin a (I did use a cerave mild retinol if I remember correctly a few nights after doing the peel). I believe they should have some info on that as well on the websites you order peels from. I hope this helps and thanks so much for watching my videos, I appreciate it!!! Lots of love xoxo

    Hey Anne. Thanks for sharing this incredible video. I just have a few questions to ask. After how many days should I repeat the peel? Is a normal moisturiser good enough? Is it compulsory to wipe the face with alcohol like you did at the start or is it ok to apply it directly to a cleansed face?

    • @BeautyByAnneMarie
      @BeautyByAnneMarie  7 лет назад +1

      Hi, according to the booklet that came with my peel, they say with the 13% peel you should only do 1 layer once every 1-2 weeks and then 2-3 layers once every 2-4 weeks and 3-5 layers once every 4-7 weeks, so it just goes by how many layers you are doing as to how often you can use it. You probably can apply directly to a cleansed face (I have before) but in this video I kept to the instructions that they gave with the peel which was to wipe with alcohol. Hope this helps! Lots of love xoxo

    After the 2nd apply do you just wash off with water? And you started peeling on 3rd day or so,was that the worst first couple of days? Kinda gauging when to do this on work days. Loved this so much❤

    • @BeautyByAnneMarie
      @BeautyByAnneMarie  5 лет назад +1

      Yes, rinsing with cold water is a good idea. I do always rinse my TCA off even though it is self neutralizing. Ya, if you skip to the end of the video I show each day and how much peeling I had. There was one day I peeled the most and I think it was 1 or 2 days I said I stayed at home (I did this video 2 or 3 years ago and don't remember exactly, but if you watch the last 1/4 of the video you should see) xoxo

    • @BeautyByAnneMarie
      @BeautyByAnneMarie  8 лет назад +1

      Hi, I haven't done another one yet that is 2 layers again (or more). I did do a few that are just one light layer for light peeling (better than I get with a glycolic or lactic acid light peel) and really didn't have any super bad days that I couldn't be seen. I do like this percentage really well and can always add a layer (up to 5) if I want it a deeper peel. I will probably do a deep one again this fall/winter when it's cold and I don't mind staying in for 2 days peeling ;)) xoxo

    You are beautiful. Enjoyed the video but I have some questions. At night after you apply the ceravie, do you put a mosterizer over that?? And after the peter Thomas Roth gel and your done with the shower, do you moistureize and what do you use? Do you use the avene all the time? Thanks for anymore info that you can give me!!

    • @BeautyByAnneMarie
      @BeautyByAnneMarie  7 лет назад

      Thank you! As I recall, I used my Avene the first day/night after the peel, then did my cerave retinol which is a moisturizing retinol at night (no additional moisturizer with it). In the mornings after I used my PTR gel I think I just applied my avene during the day. I typically only use the Avene after I dermaroll or after this peel, but it can be used anytime to calm and repair the skin. I hope this helps! xoxo

    Hi Anne-Marie. I really appreciate all of your Video's, and I noticed a couple of times now that you've mentioned you were unable to pronounce the word "Cicalfate" as in the Avene Cicalfate Repair Cream. Try rhyming the word with "sickle" as in the latter part of Bicycle or the latter part of Popscile. Only sound it out like "bi-CYCLE" or "pop-SICLE" but only going a bit heavier on the first part of the word, meaning Cical(fate) = "Cycle" + fate, or "Sicle" + Fate. Bring the SICLE + Fate together to form the word Cicalfate. I wish I could say the word Cicalfate verbally here, but I can't so I truly hope that I've been able to be helpful describing what I'm trying explain, in writing. :) Thank you so very much for sharing all of your knowledge about anti-aging Facial Care with all of us! ~ Christine from Peterborough, Ontario, Canada

    I have a question about using Ordinary mandelic acid nightly and vitamin c on top of it. Is that too much for the skin and if not should I put a moisturizer on the top of it?

    • @BeautyByAnneMarie
      @BeautyByAnneMarie  3 года назад

      I would use your skin as a guide, if you get dry skin then I'd add a moisturizer and if you have any irritation then I'd use one at night and one in the morning. Usually mandelic acid is not irritating so chances are they will be fine
