    What I've learned from this is to get a Hi-vis rain suit. Wow man, visibility out on that stretch of bad weather was practically zero. But glad you two had a hotel setup after that. Would have been a great way to shake off the storm.

      I can’t recommend the Revit Cyclone jacket and Acid pants enough. On top of the high viz being blindingly bright, they pack super small and after all of this I was still dry. My brother’s “borrowed” Nova Scotia Power lineman suit worked well too!😂
      When we got to the hotel the first words out of my mouth were “Is there a restaurant in town that delivers? Because I’m not getting back on that bike today!” Hahaha
      Cheers!

      Definitely not what I was expecting in July. I mean….sure it’s north but it isn’t THAT far north. The craziest part was that the storm was only about 2 kilometres wide! Cheers.

      Thanks so much! It’s an amazing ride. I could have done without the hail…..but it made for a great story. Cheers!

    The Big Land has Big Weather ! That was crazy !

      It was pretty crazy that a storm can be that fierce and only about 2kms wide! I’m amazed that neither of us went down…… we were going about a buck thirty moments before seeing that wall of what we thought was rain. My brother got so much further up the road than I did because he was too scared to touch his brakes! Good times. 😂 Cheers!

    Nope, not going there on vacation😁
    'And we stopped for oil for the KLR'
    I knew it wasn't for the mighty Honda🤷🏼‍♂️my 2000 Transalp still starts every first try and doesn't leak one drop.

      @506motoadv  9 месяцев назад +1

      Yeah, KLRs are known to go through oil when they spend a lot of time at highway speeds. Random hail storm aside, if you never go to Labrador you’re missing out. The south coast that we get to a couple days after this is absolutely amazing! I appreciate the comment and thanks for watching. Cheers!

    Crazy storm eh ? You guys were literally in the wrong spot at the right time for sure .

      It was pretty intense! I wish that I had the camera running as we first hit the storm but I had it turned off thinking that it was just rain we were headed into……and I had enough rain footage by then.😂 Thanks for watching! Cheers.

    Yessir!! Man that’s an adventure worth capturing! It’s impressive to see those sights, and insane storm. Kind of looks like it’s own micro-climate, that was intense. Good call on the hi-viz gear and moving your bike. Hard to believe the size of hail, and it floating on a stream ripping down the road.
    The Tonka truck was super cool, way bigger than it looked!
    Great video and editing, so much fun to watch. Cheers!

      Thanks man!
      Yeah, I had never experienced rain and hail coming down that hard and fast in my life.
      The craziest part to me was the 2ft wide washouts developing on the side of the road flowing into a newly created river! I was concerned that the bikes may end up in the ditch…..which is about 10ft down!
      Those 789 series CATs are crazy, eh? Cheers!

    yes...the 08 klr...not miles per gallon...it's miles per quart....I knew of a few that would say filler with oil and check the gas...easy, but not cheap fix....tough as nails....great video

    • @506motoadv
      @506motoadv  11 месяцев назад +1

      Yeah, I’m pretty sure he put over a litre in that night. We were going a buck thirty for a good portion of the day and KLRs don’t really like that. The next day it didn’t burn a drop over roughly the same distance but we were going 90ish trying to see if we could make the 400kms between Goose Bay and Cartwright without having to use our auxiliary fuel. So it really had a huge variance depending on how it’s ridden. Great bulletproof bikes though. Cheers!

    I feel for you, drove through a similar act of God back in B.C. with no curb to stop

      @506motoadv  9 месяцев назад +1

      Yes, we were lucky to be near that spot where the road sign was. Although…… had we been able to tell how close we were to the edge of the storm we would have just rode through it in about 5 minutes. Cheers!

      Oh, it’s well worth the visit. Especially the south coast of Labrador, which we will get to in a couple more episodes.
      That storm was not something that happens often in July or August as the girl working the front desk at the hotel didn’t believe us. 😂. I’m happy that you’re enjoying the videos. Cheers!
