It's great to hear an update on how things are going, where things are going and why. It's also great to see the MD? cleaning his own vehicle rather than jumping straight to 'I have Minions! Do as I say and wash that van!'.
You hit the nail on the head with the idea of getting premises and having everyone together; While working remotely can work, you don't get the camaraderie that will build by day to day interaction with the rest of your team, and it is the feeling of 'belonging' that helps when you have to pull together (usually when the brown smelly stuff hits the rotary air distributor) Bigger companies mostly lose that feeling of family, and that is usually caused by people who know jack shit about the actual business take the helm and just look at the bottom line so, as you grow, promote from within where you can, buy in specialist skills if you need them NOW, otherwise train your people. If you do buy in the skills, cross train your people, some will leave, some will stay, but if you get a rep for being a good employer then you will get good people.
I've rambled on a bit, to say the least, so, Good Luck with building the business, I hope everything works out.

Absolutely spot on comment about cameraderie and people physically meeting each other and the team it builds. I work as an engineer, working on sites around the country and I am home based - ie: I never go to an office. There are six of us dotted around the country. It's just not the same when you never see any of your colleagues. When on site you naturally watch what you say and can never fully relax or tell a dodgy joke with a customer in the same way you would with a colleague.

Glad to see that you are willing to put your money where your mouth is. I'm also glad that you are not getting rid of the common office environment. Where I work, just before COVID became a big deal here in Canada which was around March 2020, My place of business was setting out to get rid of the building and we would soon be out of a job as of July Last year. Well when the covid lock-downs began here, our call center became swamped because of people needing to work from home (as I work for an Internet Service provider) so that saved our jobs for the biggest part except those who didn't have the resources to support the call center software properly working (basically too slow of an internet speed). When you work from home there is no separation from your home life and your work life. I have been doing this for a year now and I usually like being at home alone for the most part but going to the workplace offered me clear separation and if times got a little lonely or tough at home, I had the workplace and colleagues to help me cheer up. I am honestly so burned out with working from home and my company is finding ways In my opinion to work harder for little to no extra pay.

I've heard someone say: "No, we absolutely can't update our advertising and web site, our clients want everything to look like it was cobbled together by an amateur using Word 25 years ago!". Unfortunately I don't think "born before 1950" is a very sustainable target group, and that's what they seem to prefer (even though both owners are considerably younger than that).

Wow! My hair is off to you,. Wow doesn't even cover my admiration for what you've accomplished. I owned my own business for over forty years and know what it takes to keep the doors open. My advice is to make a progress plan that you can use as a ruler to hart what opportunities you want to take advantage of and those, which tantalizing, are going to either take you in the wrong direction or will cost you more in the long run than they will be worth. Like your comment on CVS, some deals ARE too good to be true.
Add my thoughts and wishes that your star continues to rise. Good Show Lad!

Fantastic video. This will inspire people to, as you said, put all their chips in and go for it.

Vat has made doing my accounts a country mile easier, especially with basic online account packages now. I used to spend a very stressful week in my office trying to find receipts. Now it's about two hours a quarter and my accounts are ready months ahead of time. Like you everyone said it's a pain. Also if you like buys tools and 20% off your fuel then it's the way forward.
