Planted 50 gal / 200l tank with 6 adult Keyhole cichlids and other fishs. Actualy aquarium waiting for big cutting of all plants because fish needs more space :-)
Are plants and fish still doing well? I have a 180 gallon and it looks nothing like this although really trying. Your fish seem very happy with all the plants and plenty of places to hide if any aggression should occur.
Martin, your tank is inspirational! My keyholes used to behave like yours, until I put them in a 50g (48") tank. A breeding pair formed and harassed the other four keyholes, causing me to separate them. How have you been able to maintain harmony in your keyhole family? Do the other fish prevent Keyholes from attempting to breed? Or do you use purigen to remove tannens and other organics that might trigger them to breed?
+Chris X Hi Chris and thank You. I dont use purigen just clasic filtration like biofoam, ceramic and matrix. Other fish have respect to them so cichlids have relative quiet. My priority isnt breeding so I am doing nothing and if pair will form it will be all on mother Nature ;-)
great tank and video. do the keys stay together most of the time ? I'm looking at doing a 75 like this but with coral pencils and otts instead of emperors and siamese.
+Chris X Hi Chris, I am using 2 T5 39W light. One is GroLux light and second one is Tropica Plant 11000°K both with standard aluminium reflector. Its about 20inches above the substrate.
Lovely looking planted tank with some lovely colours :)

Thx. Yes, most of time they stay together like a shooling fish but most of time they are hidden under driftwood and behind plants
How are the keyhole cichlids doing? I bought the last one at a local shop and really want to find some more!
+FishPie Hi, they are doing very well and day by day growing. I will add new video soon so please enjoy. Thanks
Martin, what lights are you using?

Hey Martin, I hate to keep asking.. .. but what is that big Purple/Reddish plant in the middle? I'd like to get one of those for my tank.
+Chris X
Hi Chris, It is Echinodorus Beauty Red ;-)
