My favorite Bhairavi... porbably listened to 50+ songs by now... 3 Varnams, 2 Geethams.... my favorite composition being Shyama Shastri's Kamakshi Swarajathi
In tamil music raga Bhairavi is known as " kowsikam" pann. Pann is the tamil word for raga. Lot of thevaram songs were in kowsika pann. My favourite one is " seyyane thiru aalavayy meviya ayyane" by thirugnana sambanthar.
I never knew to this day that when singing a single note, the singer actually is oscillating between multiple swaras such as g = mgm. And i've been singing and playing the guitar for over 20 years now...hehe! Very well explained!

Great exercise towards the end…really highlights the nuances of the gamakas between the Swaras. However, I wish you had spent a little more time on the last three lines to highlight the difference in the M in the aarohana and avarohana. It’s not so easy and would’ve been helpful to break it down like you did with d and D in the top half.

Nice didi I mean elder sister
Bhairavi is janya of nata Bhairavi. But usage of Bhairavi is more than nata Bhairavi
Mam higher variant of D and lower variant d sounds the same. How should I recognise ?
👌🌹🙏🌺👍
Madam.. I have a doubt.. in avarohana.. what is ni. is it n or N?
Madam if m and n are sung with other swaras, how does one write the notation of a bhairavi song ? Just wondering.
It is written as Ma and Ni respectively. But while singing it we should know how to apply the gamakam.
@@VoxGuru thank you for clearing the doubt madam

Excellent teaching❤
Why are you adding “a” to every Hindi word?
Like “Raag” A
“Gamak” A?
Its raag and Gamak. Why this westernisation?
