Hey, you guys make the process easier to see than other videos, others have seen that expensive tools need to be used to remove the springs and others say a lot and don't say much about what they are actually doing. excellent explanation thumbs up 👍
FYI: You don't need to "prime" the system to prevent a dry start. If there isn't enough oil in the Multi-air, the intake valves won't open and the engine obviously won't start until enough oil reaches the top for the intake valves to start opening.
I know this is a few years old, but for those who might be watching now... clutch and gas will disable injector and spark without having to unplug coils
To bleed that system you need to use a syringe and put oil into the small hole with the ball bearing. I worked at fiat and we always had this issue when the cars sat for too long without being run.
"Socket's stuck!" = you need to buy locking extensions. I get mine from Mac and I would never have a tool kit without them. Best addition to my tool box.

Hello my Friend. We are not interested in how it works inside there, but given that this engine has a serious design flaw, namely, it does not start after a long stop (more than 2 weeks) despite the operable kinematics of the control of valves by the Multiair module due to oil leakage from the module and the formation of air pockets in it. This disadvantage is exacerbated by the traditionally high oil consumption in this engine and the user can actually miss the critical moment of adding oil to the engine. In my case, this happened, the oil level dropped, when braking or tilting the car through the suction pipe, air got into the oil system (Multiair module hydraulics sistem) from the crankcase and the engine stopped. After topping up the oil, attempts to start the engine were unsuccessful. At the same time, compression and spark in all cylinders disappeared in the engine. The last oil 5W40 change was - 8000 km. back. The filt Multiair module er turned out to be clean, the mileage of the car is 960,000 km., the condition of the engine is good. Questions: 1. How can I bleed the Multiair module and remove air from it? 2. What is the luMultiair module brication scheme. 3. Why is there a small ball valve on the , from Multiair module he top under the filler neck? what is its function? Some experts in Utah advise pouring 240-280 ml through it into the Multiair module oil and then try to start the engine againe. I tried topping up, but nothing came of it, because the hole (1 mm) is very small. Senserly yours. Igor Groza 18.01.22 igorgroza1957@gmail.com
Since no one has answered, I will inform you that they should not affect smog at all. Springs are only putting a small extra stress on the engine,to be able to close the valves at the higher rpms. Stopping the high rpm "floating",enables the engine to keep production of power. Whereas it dynoed a drop in power at high rpm,due to softer springs.
Francis Rego It was a cylinder 3 misfire because of the multi-air system not working correctly for the initial start up. It had to purge the air out of the system for it to work properly. Nothing crazy. We cleared the code and it never came back.
VALLEY CREW you can purge the air by pushing the little button under the oil cap, and performing the start up procedure you were doing. Just drop some oil over the button while doing it and booom!
That was a lot of work for nothing. MTD has proven that the springs are helper springs. Everything operates primarily on oil pressure. Here's to placebos...
Mutliair Tuning and Development has proven you both wrong. Am I going to accept Dyno number from the guy making the parts and subsequently running the Dyno? No. Not that I don't believe Tork has their shit together, but he tunes a lot of shit. Fiats are probably the least of his concerns. His money is in the KDM right now. Secondly, can you dictate the equations, the laws of physics, the forges, the opposing forces, how the physics works behind this? If you can't, don't site physics, you ass hammer...

Nice job for the video but I think You forgot something very important. U remove the valve cover and u not going to replace the valve cover gasket! I'll bet you soon u will have oil everywhere and maybe cousing you more problem maybe lead you to blow piston
Enzo We thought the same thing but surprisingly enough, the gasket was in great shape and we still don’t have any leaks and we’ve taken the valve cover off twice.
Because t-jet isn’t offered in the U.S. If it was I would of bought a t-jet 500/595/695 buy unfortunately we do not have those motors available to us at U.S. dealership!

How will this affect California smog testing (CARB)?
Since no one has answered, I will inform you that they should not affect smog at all. Springs are only putting a small extra stress on the engine,to be able to close the valves at the higher rpms. Stopping the high rpm "floating",enables the engine to keep production of power. Whereas it dynoed a drop in power at high rpm,due to softer springs.
So stronger springs. Put more pressure on the rollers and the camshaft. Like a tradeoff. More power, more wear.

Pistons & Petrol has dynoed this mod and proved you wrong.
Wrong. Basic physics will tell you what is going on.
A review after two years?!
Sick vid bros! VC 💪 Thinking about this spring mod for my 124 spider 🕷
Definitely adding this mod to the list of shit I have to do!! Thanks for the solid video, Love the content!!
Hi, how did you handle the assembly without a special multiair puller?

Prefill the unit with oil, prefill hole on the left side.

Sequenziale? Chi?
@@LorenzoClara97 cambio sequenziale ;)
Boys, your video is very useful and very good detailed! I have the same engine in a Punto Evo. Once I already had to replace the whole Multiair system into a new one, but now, that I know, sping changing can save this whole equipment, I am definitely sure, I am going to replace my springs in the Multiair. Subscribe is recommended! ;)
Will these springs work for the 2.4?
uh, what... people mod these things??? thats awesome!!! ahaha
The best engine Fiat ever built was the F.I.RE fully integrated robotized engine it was first released in 1985 and product until 2019 or 20 with the years they changed small things because the start of catalytic converter but engine was put on pretty much all Fiat cars Fiat uno,Fiat punto,Fiat panda was 999c.c producing around 50hp later they increased a little bit the C.C I really miss those cars😔
Nice job for the video but I think You forgot something very important. U remove the valve cover and u not going to replace the valve cover gasket! I'll bet you soon u will have oil everywhere and maybe cousing you more problem maybe lead you to blow piston
Enzo
We thought the same thing but surprisingly enough, the gasket was in great shape and we still don’t have any leaks and we’ve taken the valve cover off twice.
@@tbr.performance
Yes but no matter what u should always replace it or at least make ur own gasket might not see it now but eventually it will
first time you hit warp speed the vulcans will arrive...lol...i have a 2016 fiat sport...some day ill get an abarth
Turn yours into one.
Cutest angry car ever
What the heck? Why do you have a 500 with multiair? Tjet is way better
Negli Stati Uniti è venduta con il Multiair
Because t-jet isn’t offered in the U.S. If it was I would of bought a t-jet 500/595/695 buy unfortunately we do not have those motors available to us at U.S. dealership!
FAST! rich life! $$$
His mind would be blown by cars with 5 valves per cylinder
Ik this is a tempting mod because it’s so cheap, but don’t do it it can damage your multiair brick it has blown many engines. Look up Tork multiair springs you’ll see countless forums of people having issues.
Tork springs were recalled due to a manufacturer defect.
Tork springs were recalled due to a manufacturer defect. Ok to get now.
