Skid Steer Winches are an excellent way to utilize the full potential of your machines weight and strength. Pull the line all the way out,then winch it in. Keeping your line spoiled up straight.keep from”assholing”the line(crossing over and bunched up in 1 spot”.If you can achieve that try down an embankment little sideways pull. Show that on video and I’ll buy one

Nice. But. You forgot the shackle mount for the return cable to mount to. When using a pulley and a two part line.

I think he means replace the grade 70 hook with a clevis or so called “shackle”

basically it's two (0r more) pulley's between winch and object being pulled, it works slower but stronger.
Skid Steer Solutions you need a shackle next to the winch to hook the winch cable back too for double pulling power turn a single line pull into a double with a snatch block on the tongs. just weld a d ring on next to the winch
this would be good for pulling dead trees out of the woods where its too swampy to get in there. How much does one of these cost?

You're very right about the uses and there is even a ton more uses! We had a customer talk to us about how he wished he'd had one sooner because they lost a tractor in a swamp without it. :(

Would this attachment work for stabilizing a 8,000 pound mini excavator thats working on a steep bank? If so, it would so much more convenient then having to use a dozer with a winch.
Why don't you make one for the BACK of the machine like they put on dozers?

It's a good idea ... I don't like is backing out of a wood lot in reverse. I'll take my mechanical clutch pto driven winch over hydraulic any day. Easy to service, faster line speed, pull out with clutch disengaged is easy, bigger diameter drum - less cable wear. Knock your line pull down- put a bigger diameter drum on it-increase your line speed. You're not dragging mighty redwoods- do you really need 15k of line pull?
but most skid steers don't have PTO...

I dont see a whole lot of uses for a skid steer mounted winch

Thanks David! We think it's going to be a hit with the loggers/clearing guys but really anyone who finds themselves with tricky hauls. A Skid Steer Winch Attachment is great to have around.
I own a farm and this is perfect for pulling fire wood out of the woods
If you cut, mulch, or clear retention ponds for a living, plenty of uses for this, especially if you get a machine stuck in the mud.
I think u could have showed it a better location like y pull the logs when u can get up next to them an pick them up....

Looks like a lot of resistance just dragging cable in free wheel, nice unit but I don't see much of a need for it .
I think it would be best for off road vehicle recovery
