If you can get a Tesla now, get it now. Yes Tesla will re introduce the LFP packs but will also suffer the added tariff expense. Get a car now while there’s the credit and a referral to save $8500 while it’s 0% APR
Not necessarily. Maybe the first production car but have since improved since then. It all comes down to the driver and driving habits very similar to ICE cars. If you drive 85-90 like here in SoCal you’re gonna see a drop in mph same in an electric car.
@ 🤣 there’s professionals doing test drives and none of them no matter how conservative you are at accelerating, non can get to the advertised range, look it up bud
If Tesla offers owners to transfer free supercharging (SC01) to a new vehicle purchase, I'll buy another new Tesla. But that's the only way i buy a new Tesla.
I think that Tesla need to come up with more variants to maintain their attraction in the European market. We need station wagon/shooting brake and hatchbacks. Sedans don’t sell in Europe. 80-90 % of VW Passat and Ford Mondeo were station wagons. With the move to SUVs they were all station wagon shape until Audi gave users a choice. Still most customers pick the station wagon shape.
Sedans don't sell anywhere anymore. I don't get it, what is wrong with all these companies? They hire all these CEOs and pay them millions, and those guys don't even know that Mid Size SUV is where ALL the money is now? Look at Rivian. On the brink of bankruptcy and only NOW they are planning to release a midsize SUV hoping to save the company. Really??? Where were their brains before? Even Tesla made the same mistake. They live off Tesla Model Y now, that is their best seller. But it was one of the last to be released and it still does NOT get any respect from Tesla! Gets upgrades the latest, they don't make different versions of it.
Zoox and Waymo will help introduce robotaxis to the public, which will make it easier for Tesla. And if Tesla can make their software better, they'll have little trouble out pacing Zoox or Waymo.
People excited about cybercab are not realistic. I have FSD. It's great 80% of the time, annoying 15%, and does some scary stuff the rest. It seems like the 80% keeps getting better with each release, but those percentages haven't budged.
Software locking the new chemistry battery capacity should increase battery life so that would not be a bad thing. Now I just need to win the lottery to be able to afford a new Tesla to profit from the incentives in Europe.
1:40 further proof, the US needs more competition. Once BYD find the way into the US, game over for Tesla. It might explain why Elon is more interested in politics.
I loved (used to) the Tesla’s looks and ideals. Now however, I think there are too many safety issues Tesla has willingly chosen to put into their car by choice. Removing safe and easy access to the door handles, both inside and outside. Getting out in a hurry is paramount for me. The iPad on the dash should NOT be in charge of everything, speedo, lights, indicators, doors, windows, the list goes on. These basic car functions for me are all safety features that should remain basic. Humans have fine motor skills when NOT under pressure. Unfortunately these disappear in a hurried situation for things such as ‘fight or flight’ where adrenaline kicks in and removes those fine motor skills. Trying to play with an iPad in an emergency is purely stupid, and dangerous. There is an age old adage that should be in place here - KISS principle. (Keep It Simple Stupid). That is why just recently in France and now Canada, two car loads of innocent human beings were basically incinerated. They could not get out, and people outside could not save them. - Safety, safety, safety! Do better Tesla and go back to what a car is. Yep, great EV, but keep it as a car, not a computer terminal or Xbox on wheels, or a mobile phone with all the buttons now removed. You have gone too far
True. Adn why do we need to keep this big TV in the middle of the dash always ON, wasting energy? Physical buttons for most commonly used features, small screen behind the wheel for speedo etc, but the big TV should be switchable on and off for when you need it. And if Tesla really wants to make their cars more affordable both with initial purchase price AND ongoing costs (insurance) AND make the car actually better at the SAME time - then start from getting rid of the stupid glass roof! Stupid thing has no use, no advantage. Just added cost and a lot of problems. Especially in hot climates.
@@user-hz3eu5inIt sounds like Ford or GM are what you’re looking for. Plenty of options for people wanting things the old way. Damn those automatic windows though. I want the old crank handles!
the main reason for the big drop in tesla sales in germany is political. most germans who buy teslas are turned off by musk, and most germans who agree with musk politically are turned off by evs.
1 year of free supercharging is not "save thousands" territory. Overstating that a bit much. Here in the USA, one year of free supercharging would save me a grand total of about $800 over the course of a year. And I'd have to go out of my way to supercharge, which puts more stress on the battery. Yeah- no thanks. Realistically free supercharging MIGHT save me $500 in one year, if I'm traveling a lot.
I don’t get it. What’s the advantage of being able to accelerate from 0 to 60 in 2,9 seconds compared to say 7 seconds? I would rather have that they put in more comfort and practicality in the model 3, say more comfortable ride and a hatchback. But then there might be more persons out there, who absolutely love to impress their neighbors by leaving them behind in a cloud of dust. Maybe it also appeals to the road rage segment? Greetings from Denmark
Yooooo wtf where are those prices at 1:15 ? In Portugal it's freaking 45K for the base model, god dammit, we always pay more and are the poorer country...
Ryan. Please dedicate an episode specifically to the $7500 federal tax credit and when is the soonest that Trump will be able to get rid of it. Do we have to buy in 2024? Even if Trump wants to get rid of it, can he do it in 2025? many of us are ready to buy, but are waiting until next year to see how the model Y looks and costs. But we might not want to wait if we know for sure that the tax credit will not be available in 2025. Why is nobody able to answer this question. I would start with the worst case, scenario assumption that he wants to get rid of it as fast as possible. If that turns out to be true Procedure early, when would that be?
Americans are taught in school how our federal government works. No president can make or repeal national laws. Only Congress can. And trump can't be president before January 20, 2025. So he needs Congress to repeal the set of laws that comprise the $7500 tax credit. Congress needs *_minimally_* a few months to enact such changes. Also, almost always, new laws include a "grace period" that gives people extra time to adjust to the change. So realistically the $7500 credit will remain for the first half of or maybe even all of 2025 -- that is if Congress agrees with trump's goal of abolishing it. If Congress doesn't, then the tax credit could stay for much much longer. Not a done deal, but obviously trump will try. He'll threaten others, to get his way.
Congress controls the purse. Keep an eye out for any Bill that cancels the IRA. I won’t happen overnight. I expect there to be a great deal of buzz for the end of rebates.
No one knows when Trump will get rid of it. He just announced he will be getting rid of it. It’s very possible the refresh won’t be here until end of 2025/26. With Elon on his team and supporting terminating the incentive, I don’t see the credit lasting long. Definitely not long enough for the refresh. If I were you take advantage of the 8500 off (credit + referral) and get the Y now because knowing the credit is going it should increase everyone’s values shortly. The current Y RWD gets 330mi and is worth getting now. If you think you’ll want the refresh, it may be worth getting it now with the $8500 off and then trade it in, possibly with positive equity or break even by then since there won’t be an existing credit. The change could be immediate. He could sign an executive order and be done with it 🤷♂️
robotaxi is strictly for taxi purpose only? How much extra cost will tesla incur by adding a steering wheel and accelerator/brake pedals. People like options. Whether to drive it or to use the car as a taxi. Now they are forced to use taxi mode only forever when buying this vehicle.
Elon actually has to try in Europe vs America (where Tesla is the only major EV player). He also went out of his way to say that he wants the EV tax credit abolished, specifically because it would hurt literally every other company making EVs except for Tesla, and that does not mean he is going to lower the prices by 7500. He'll keep prices the same and just say that "you should pay what it's worth" knowing damn well it's a near-monopoly situation and he makes ~14% profit per car, which is significantly higher than the industry average.
@ Innovation comes at a price. I don’t know what you know, but Elon got literally millions of dollars in subsidies that kept Tesla afloat in the first place, and now is actively using his wealth made from those subsidies to prevent competition. Plenty of innovation comes with a price, and it’s a BS move Elon is pulling.
So sales are slumping in Europe. Could it be because Musk decided to be involved in very polarized politics, and it is taking a a side that sees little appeal on EVs and denies climate change. Most people on a similar position would remain neutral if they really care for the health of their business.
This has to be the most boring news ive heard about a new battery in a Tesla. I was really hoping the rumors of the 95kwh battery for Model Y Jupiter would be a real thing. Even jumping from the current 80-82KWh to 90KWH would be a nice upgrade. The KIA EV3 is a significantly smaller car and comes with a 81.4kwh gross battery eith 78KWH usable. Model Y should be having a larger battery to get 350-375 miles by now. Doesnt have to be standard but instead as an optional upgrade
I 0:15 no, waymo vehicle are being monitored by people in India. They are not autonomous. Plus, their business model is not scalable. They need premapped roads. And roads change.
Free supercharging in Europe isn’t that much of a deal. There are too few supercharger locations in Europe to really benefit from this. Only when you frequently go on a road trip you could benefit from supercharging, but I doubt this will encourage European customers to buy a Tesla.
These others offering rides are merely paving the way for acceptance. Price will be the king. If Tesla can undercut the other players, they will win. Simple capitalism.
Getting my structural battery pack replaced, 2023 Y with 14500 miles got a warning battery volume reduced won’t charge fully, anybody else having the same problem ?
No, but my 2023 M3P had 7.6% degradation after 4k miles. Not happy the range was cut short so quickly. Doesn’t leave me with high hopes long term as it will get worse.
Gov Credit should only come for 400 -500 mile range vehicles to incentivize manufacturers to improve battery technology. Must include same battery rules for sourced materials.
I imagine Tesla prices will drop when the tax credit disappears, maybe for all makers. Why not increase the prices by the exact amount of the credit to pocket that cash themselves rather than consumers reaping all the benefit.
@andrewfromm6565 That is what some people are speculating. I'm really hoping for it to have a true 34k vehicle price tag as opposed to 42k that is then subject to sales tax. The sales tax doesn't go based off the post rebate price.

Why do Phone and EV companies not realize that all we care about is battery life. That’s pretty much 100% of what we want.
You’re guessing about the tax credit. We don’t know that yet
The batterie of my choice would be the blade BYD.
Still waiting for at least 450+ miles for canada i will buy it in a heart beat
the main reason for the big drop in tesla sales in germany is political. most germans who buy teslas are turned off by musk, and most germans who agree with musk politically are turned off by evs.
Thy probably attach a USB game controller or just have steering on the screen.
I will replace my 2018 model 3 if Tesla releases a car with 500 mile range. That would be nice
4 or 6%??? Tesla could software unlock 4-6%. Let me know when they do 20+ percent. Thanks.
So you think that everyone should be subsidising inefficient management and manufacturing? Please explain why.😊
Ryan looks like he smells like baby oil and Doritos. Love your content
So sales are slumping in Europe. Could it be because Musk decided to be involved in very polarized politics, and it is taking a a side that sees little appeal on EVs and denies climate change. Most people on a similar position would remain neutral if they really care for the health of their business.
Tesla was under constant attacks from the Biden administration.😊
I'd buy a Model Y if they would give me a decent trade-in for my Model 3. :(
I just sold Carvana my 2023 M3 14,000mi I got $26,200.
Be careful when considering a Tesla. I'm looking to sell my model 3 and its resale value is depressing.
They sell for near new prices in Australia with up to a hundred thousand klm on them. Maybe you’d be less depressed if you exported your car.😊
Those are some slow ass model Ys you showed at 1:15...0-62mph in 6.9 seconds!
Free supercharging in Europe isn’t that much of a deal. There are too few supercharger locations in Europe to really benefit from this.
Only when you frequently go on a road trip you could benefit from supercharging, but I doubt this will encourage European customers to buy a Tesla.
APPLE CARPLAY!!!🙏🙏🙏
Serious question. What would Apple Car Play give me that I don’t already have?
Should increase at least 66kwh or better 72kwh.......this is dissapointing......
These others offering rides are merely paving the way for acceptance. Price will be the king. If Tesla can undercut the other players, they will win. Simple capitalism.
A 1000 miles battery will be awesome
Stop being silly. Why would anyone want to drive around with an extra two thousand pounds of batteries in the car.
@Carguytct iknow imagine possibilities 🤣🤣
21 myp, just got mine at 99k mi
No issues
No issues after 19K miles. Still runs great.
@@whatsay8406 how are you charging? At home or super chargers?
I get you gotta make content dude but come on...this was a stretch even by your standards
Unsubscribing. Because there is no news in this. Same repeated news
Tesla and Trump no thanks anymore
Thank you Elon Musk for supporting freedom. It's going to be a GREAT Christmas this year, first time in 4 years.
Gov Credit should only come for 400 -500 mile range vehicles to incentivize manufacturers to improve battery technology. Must include same battery rules for sourced materials.
Elon should move to Russia, which he can destroy his heart's content.
60.1 to 62.5 is 2.3% not 6%
DO WE REALLY WANT TO SEE CHINESE BATTERIES IN US MADE CARS?
With Elon and Trump teaming up, the tax credit may continue.
What makes you think so? Obama and Biden were the ones who gave the tax credits. Trump killed Obama’s, why wouldn’t he kill Biden’s?
Elon has advocated for the removal of all subsidies. It helps the competition more than tesla
@ Thanks for the info. Had not heard.
Readers Beware! This writer WAS going to 'go for broke" and get a new Highland. BUT for me in Maine I would have to drive to New Jersey!! to pick up the Tesla. New Jersey, the cesspool of America! no thank you too much- I will NOT drive hours to risk life and limb to buy ANY car in New Jersey. Add to this, the nearest service center is +03 hours away, one way, from my location. SO, if you want to buy an Tesla check where you will get it and service it.
First!
Wow big news a 15 km range increase 😂🙄🥱. Looked to 170 kw...
Supercharging all year the battery is destroyed...We Supercharg 3-10 times a year. It's a 200 dollar saving. 🙄🥱
