- Hey party people! Thanks so much for hanging out with me while I share with you this new back to school thrifting experience! I wanted to take the girls thrifting before we did any other back to school shopping! We checked out the shoes, backpacks, and clothes! I was also on the hunt for a wedding guest dress so I tried on a lot of dresses and really none of them were great spoiler alert. haha You know I also went through the rest of the store to see all the other thrifted finds too! Hope you enjoy shopping and thrifting around with me!

I remember more than one person would ask me how with 8 kids do my husband and I dress our kids in name brand clothing. I said thrift stores! DUH people!!! I would love a a big thrift store like this near me in rural America! My 8 are all grown now. I see you are enjoying your children while they are young. We never got told that the hardest part of parenting is the day your children grow up and move out! My first I cried for 2 weeks! But you just always have to learn a new normal.

The apple is a pepper grinder. You put whole peppercorns in and turn the handle on the top, and it grinds pepper over your food.

I love the idea of telling the wedding guests to wear certain colors. Creates a whole aesthetic for photos and vibes for the day. Makes every guest feel involved and important instead of just the bridal party. If I got married today and not 13 years ago, I would have done that instead of having bridesmaid
Good mom! As a kid we lived the thrifted school shopping thing and it gave me a love for it as an adult and now mom of 3, teach them young that good stuff doesn’t have to be new or expensive. Have pride in practical things bought on a budget.
Random Idea: Carry a marker of each color in your purse and put a dot on your hand for all the colors of tags that are on sale so you don't forget!

The apple you found at the thrift store is a peppercorn grinder you put the peppercorns in the top you unscrew it and it grinds up your pepper fresh pepper..
Actually I think it’s a nutmeg grinder.
I kept yelling it at her and she never heard me 🤣

@@roxannebudd1978 It's actually a pepper grinder as I have the set. Vintage Wood Red Apple Salt Shaker And Pepper Grinder (you can look on Google for them)
It can bet used to grind sugar cubes and cinnamon sticks as well..for cinnamon toast.

Yes the color of the kislux is beautiful and it is a great decision, maybe one day they will add feet and straps. It would be nice to have a bigger bag during the colder months when we have to store gloves, beanies, scarves, etc…

I love how your kids especially teens absolutely LOVE the thrift store, I love going and especially when I was a kid. I wish I was there, I’d be shopping for days lol.
I love it too!! My teenager's love thrifting! They'll thrift before they hit the stores. All 3 of my kids are thrifters and it's amazing to see them so happy. They'll say did you find me anything when i go without them😂 i usually will find them something they'll love. They always knew i went thrifting but it took until they're preteens to jump on board. Now that's all they want to do! And hello neighbor!!

My everyday dishes are clear glass. I bought them when I graduated high school and moved out on my own. They were $10 for 20 pieces. I bought 2 boxes at Bill’s Dollar Store, 39 years ago.

I started thrifting our mismatched dishes last year. I gave up on a set. We gonna brake everything we touch 😂😂. Now when we run low on dishes or bowls I go buy a lot of 3 or 4 and we’re set. The kids all have a favorite random bowl that doesn’t match and they love it. 😂

Hi Kim. I'm a grandma to a tween boy. Last year I lucked out and grabbed the last black backpack at Sam's that was originally 40 something for 5 bucks. I was so stoked. When I told my daughter she said oh he wanted a JanSport I did an eyeroll and said okay. I asked her if he ever used the one I got as a backup she said she's using it soo I that's good. I feel sorry for parents now kids are so pressured to get the name brands. LOL this year I'm getting the Nikes he will pick them out!

You know what they say: "The family that thrifts together ... dresses better!" Maybe no one says that, but it's true!!! That 60s model was "Twiggy." I wanted to look like her when I grew up. I didn't.
I have dinnerware for spring, summer, fall and winter including Christmas and Thanksgiving! I enjoy changing them up when I decorate for the seasons and holidays

A movie I watched the other day and realized how much we all loved it, Babe! I'm recovering from surgery and had to upper body dance with the farmer and mice!!! Singing will happen at the end so be alert with a side of whole body happy dancing!!!

I was visiting a friend in Illinois last weekend and it was so much fun to hit up some new spots! My best find was a stainless steel stock pot for $5! My daughter also found some Cinderella dress up shoes ❤️

I think the apple is a spice or peppercorn grinder. You could use it for coarse Sea salt..or to grind sugar cubes or hardened brown sugar..or cinnamon sticka.
