It took me a while, but I finally got clear before it was too late.
I didn't end up bringing swimsuit Chise as the main damage source in phase 1. I think there is a start out there, I just couldn't figure it out, and Hifumi strat was much easier. At least I brought her in phase 1 clean up.
I actually wanted to restart team 1. You might have noticed tapping around the menu button after the fight was over. Depending on the timing, I can get Hifumi's taunt before Kaiten Red's, then I can put buffs on Iroha for her last shot.
However, I have gotten good enough damage with Mutsuki getting taunted at the end, so I went for it. I didn't quite like the remaining HP, so I tried to restart, but it was too late. I usually get 3 million HP remaining at the end of team 1, but I knew 5 was possible, and I wasn't going to just waste a ticket, so I kept going.
And I had no idea my swimsuit Hanako was that under geared until I was checking the footage. That team was just to get to phase 2, so I didn't check their stats.
I got 1.5 remaining HP once, so 1 team clear may be possible with better RNG, but it was very rare, so I might not have a correct strat. And speaking of RNG, I never had a run where Neru survived the second mackerel slash, so I didn't even know it was possible with my specs. 3 of the 4 missile hits missed, so I guess that's it.
The main point of this strat is focusing your damage on the red part. Once it's broken, it can't use missiles anymore. That way, Hinata is not only safe from AOE damage, her cover is intact for mackerel slash. I ended up breaking pink part, so it didn't even use the slash, but she would have survived it behind cover, and you should be able to finish the fight before the second one.
I had to bring a healer in team 4 to keep Wakamo alive, and I thought I'd bring in the newly added hot springs Shigure. I was worried if I can get enough damage on the red part, but as you can see, it was enough.
I think it was on the harder side compared to recent torment difficulties. It felt more like earlier ones, where people didn't have much experiences, and there were more trial and error.
There seems to be a lot of different strats, too. Obviously the top rankers' teams look similar, but there are many clear videos with different teams. That's probably because the main focus is breaking red part, and Hinata can clean up the fight afterwards. How you get there doesn't matter too much.
Compared to previous Kaiten FX fights, there were less timing involved because how Iroha works. In previous fights, you'd time your taunt to group Kaitengers up for big AOE damage.
Only reason (that I can think of) to group them up in this strat is to hit Hifumi's taunt on more targets, and you can already hit all 5 during the second formation, and I'm not sure if you can get them to group up for the last formation. With swimsuit Chise, you'd want to figure out when to use her EX so you can hit more targets.
