I just bought this pattern today and look forward to knitting a chicken. Mine will be more of a memorial chicken because I have spent the past few days helping a friend who took on more hens than she could care for. The poor hens were being taken by predators right and left so we were scrambling to find people nearby with safe hen houses. Today I can breathe easily knowing the last of the hens are safe. So, I look forward to knitting my Memorial Chicken, probably with handspun yarn.
I hope most chickens were safed 🙏 knitting the chicken was fun i hope you like it too . Thank you for sharing and watching
Kudos to you for ending that toxic relationship. I've been through an abusive relationship as well. Your life will get better and better when you keep the focus on your own health and mental health. Your boys are so lucky to witness your strength and resilience. They are watching you and taking your example on how you can direct your own life. You are remarkable. Your empathy probably attracted a broken person and you must protect yourself from any similar person taking advantage of you in future.

Hi jolanda you are very brave i stayed with a manfor 25 years who made me feel like a nobody he had problems every time i thought of leaving i didnt eventualy he passed away last AUGUST im still going through a roller coaster of emotions i am taking one day at a time your story helped me as most of the time i feel so stupid for not moving on or telling anyone thank you very much for sharing i wish yo all the best knitting and crocheting sewing helped me through it all
You are not stupid you did whatever you did to survive ..it was the hardest thing you ever had to do . Now you have the rest of your life to make your life better. It goes slow but we are strong because we survived this !!

You did great, you continue to do great. You’ll have bad days, but that’s normal. And they will happen less and less. Do your happy work with Molly, Max, Victor and Misha. And of course, the boys.

Jolanda, thankyou thankyou thankyou for being so brave to make that decision to leave and also for sharing here what you have been through. My own story is so similar. I made the move too, but it took 6 years of being physically, emotionally and mentally abused before i finally said ENOUGH. Some people really are just mean and manipulative and everyday, every hour, every moment must revolve around them and their happiness and wellbeing...OR ELSE!
It doesn't matter that there are children, it doesnt matter if you cry yourself to sleep at night or live in fear all the time, walking on 'eggshells' ...not daring to say anything because whatever you say will be the wrong thing to say (of course). These people actually feed off the pain they cause us.
All the very best to you and i hope you find the peace and contentment you and your boys deserve..

My first time here Jolanda and hopefully not my last - I just subscribed. It's so very lovely to meet you although the circumstances are very sad. I think that you are incredibly courageous to put yourself out there but hopefully it was cathartic for you to open up to your youtube friends - bless you. There is a lot of love for you out in the world - grab it with both hands (although it will be hard) but the future will be very bright for you and your wonderful boys - how could they not be wonderful, they bought you yarn 🥰😍🤩

I've been through something similar to save my life and I can assure you the difficulty will pass and you will know you have made the very best decision you have ever made. Both my parents died. You remember maybe that IT was a difficult relationship because of my fathers alcoholism. Our landlord died too,very unexpected and we had to leave our home and , so,so terrible for me, my beloved countryside. WE live in a City now. I don't like it here. No nature anymore.... The rents are way to high we're we lived before ,we can not afford a new flat there,or the owners don't want a dog. So no chance to return
