Morning and hello mi friend. What a rucksack to say lol. I think when you bey something like this, you bey it for a perpetual reason. I don't have one but I've seen an being told about them. Hiking long distances and carry lots of kit. Very useful an easy too use. A great setup when it's right 👍. Thank you for your time an sharing. 👍🔥😃🇬🇧. Tc Andy
Thank you Andy I appreciate you leaving a comment on my video 👍🏻 glad you like it, more to come in the future 😊. It’s a good piece of gear and I really like the savotta products in general 👍🏻 built to last 👍🏻. Have a great day. All the best Lars
Thank you for your comment 😊👍🏻 agreed they do make great products 👍🏻. I also have the side pouches and they work great with the backpack 😊 have a great day 😊👍🏻
Wow, you did well getting a Carinthia 4 in the bottom. I would find the lack of side pockets a problem but I think you are better at packing than me. Have a great day yourself.
Thanks. A L is on the way to the US. I am aware of the water bottle storage concern. I think I have some ideas. Thank you so much for mentioning the GeoPress by GRAYL. That is a most interesting way to purify water. Rapid Pure water was another. Best wishes!
@@zufuss Hi, I received the Jaakari large on the 5th of May. My first impression is the quality is outstanding. I am very impressed with the robustness of the material and buckles. The pack is first rate. At this time, I packed my normal used gear. Including the pack, that came to 25 pounds. This included the Savatta bedroll attached on the outside. Inside, I fit two compressed sleeping bags, a tent and separate tent poles, a Garcia bear canister and compressed clothing. I was able to fit the soft items horizontally. Surprisingly, the bear canister fit horizontally too. The poles went straight to the bottom. Inside the bag, I still had room for more. At this time, I am ignoring to use the bottom access. For me, the tent is on top for quick access to shelter. Than the bear canister. Using the side compression strap, I buckled a 32 oz thermos to the side as a water supply. This morning, 07 May, I took the loaded pack on a two mile hike on a wooded trail. The trail had some steep elevation and some stones and tree roots to avoid. It was a nice walk with varied terrain. The pack was comfortable. Although, there was no circulation for my back area. Not a big issue. However, it would be beneficial to have air circulation on my back. Most annoying was the accessibility to my water bottle. I had to take off the pack to use the bottle. I knew this. Consequently, I didn’t like that. When I hike, I don’t want to be slowed down by an unnecessary inconvenience. In addition, I only used the top storage pouch for my car keys and phone. Conveniently, I would prefer the zipper on the outside top. But, since the zipper is inside and under the storage pouch, there are less seams to leak. However, a top zipper is preferred. I like the pack. Most important issue for me is comfortable gear storage. Mostly, the pack does that well. Importantly, Water accessibility is a must. I have to figure that out. I managed to maintain a good pace and completed the 2 miles in about 50 minutes. Best wishes.
@@1024Pete Thanks mate for letting us know your thoughts and experience with the backpack 👍🏻😊 great review mate 👍🏻. Maybe a small pouch for the water bottle and attach it to the waist belt 🤷♂️👍🏻 All the best Lars
It's a beautiful durable rucksack, i have it too, but it could be a little bit bigger... if you want to use in winter time then extra pouches are a must. atleast i cant fit everything in 55L :D
Thank you for your comment 😊👍🏻 I agree side pouches are preferable and a nice addition for extra gear when you are out in the cold period of the year. 👍🏻 have a great day 😊
It's a great pack but somehow i never really warmed to it. Maybe it's because of the rolltop. That is the most annoying feature in my opinion. Trying to find something in the bottom of it is like going on a caving expedition. They should have made it exactly like the M in a size bigger. Side zipper would also have been nice to have, and as you say, pockets on the side. That said, i still haven't found a better alternative. The M will become even more useful when Hatka finally becomes available.
😂 I agree on the caving expedition 😂👍🏻 wow I was not aware of the Hatka pack.. would be a great addition for the savotta jääkäri series 👍🏻 it sure will be something to add on the wish list… hope Santa is subscribed to my page 😇😂. Have a great day and thank you for your comment 😊👍🏻. Best Lars
@@zufuss it will be an awesome addition...one day. They are teasing as it is only available in Finland from Savotta direct and pretty much sold out there too. In few weeks it should be available from varusteleka
