35018 whistles thro' Ramsgreave (26 Aug 2023)

SR 35018 British India Line surefootedly climbs through Ramsgreave & Wilpshire station with the returning 10 coach Cumbrian Mountain Express. This steam hauled leg of the trip is from Carlisle to Preston via the Settle & Carlisle line.
Many of the other national train operators were on strike leaving the CME a clear line and as a consequence, at this point, it was running 18 minutes early. Another 5 minutes earlier and it would have avoided the heavy downpour that included hail, thunder and lightning.

Well done Dave shame it was wet at Wilpshire, I went to Hoghton for a change and the weather held although it rained en route.Thanks for sharing Brian
