How to improve damage reduction. I have armor and resistance maxed out but I keep dying easily doing Pit Tier 61 and above and I have no idea why, lol. And I keep getting 1 shot by Uber The Beast in the Ice and Duriel before I could even stagger them.
Cover some builds for clearing hordes without uber uniques for less strong classes. I have pushed my dual strike dust devil barb to the max, but all I can do is t6, and even that takes a lot of time. And there are 0 good builds for barbarians on youtube that show how they do it without uber uniques, it is either hey I am killing level 100 mobs or someone doing barbillions of damage having 3-5 uber uniques. Any build will work with these items really.
Is anyone else finding poison mobs (e.g. Blind Burrows and other NMDs with spiders) way more deadly in season 5, even when poison resistance is boosted with poison res elixir?
think someone said to me the enemy DoTs in general deal more damage, but there are not that many monsters quickly stacking them on you. It's hella noticeable with poison tho, if you're a melee you regularly see your entire HP bar get covered by the DoT indicator while leveling from a single stack of poison, it's unreal. Any time my bard went anywhere with spiders I had to basically chug potion after potion
Great info about the desecrator, was wondering why I just got instagibbed last night. It basically made me ultra prio any hellborne that spawn to avoid whatever it was that did it.
Infernal Hordes is fun but I really don't like the fact that whenever there's something new, this almost by default becomes the only sensible thing to do. GOOD design would be to add new, cool stuff, while bringing existing content up to par so that we have more diverse gameplay.
You might want this - the majority wants "the best thing" to be in the game and everything that's not the best is trash As soon as you give people 2 things that are equally good for farming they will complain that they have to do it to not fall behind
Thats the problem with live service games like D4. They have to add something better and more fun each season or people will ignore it and go back to doing the same old thing. Each season topping the last will quickly make farming redundant. In season 10 we will spawn in at level 1 with 5 Mythics.
Anyone noticed in the Infernal Horde arena that there are 2 more doors on the left and right side? The centre door leads to the Fell Council. Maybe future boss fights?
After 100 hours in S5, I feel that anything less than a 400 Aether run is bad, between 400 and 800 is a good run, and above 800, an exceptionally good run.
Thanks for the update. It confirms my own experience as well. I wish you would have gone through each of the council's powers. I often find one that heals the others, making it impossible to kill all three around the same time. As for the bad boons, if there's no better choice, I find that "soulspires pulls enemies in" seems the least bad.
so they do more abilitys when their friends are down? i am still not sure about if its when their friends are down or if they lose some hp. i never kill them the same time even on t8. but interesting would be to know who can heal to focus him down.
@@grasgruen84 Yes, they empower significantly when one of them is killed. Ismail, I think, is the one that goes to the center and starts chain healing the others. :)

If im not mistaking the spawns are weighted by your choices. So if you have 1 hellborne(HB) buff and noithing else, you get about the same amount of HB/mass/spire/aetherfiends(AF). Now if you have 2 HB and 2 spire buffs, you will see more HB/spire and less mass/AF. If this is true, and it seems to me that it is. The most important thing to get is HB buffs(including fire from above wich leads to a HB buff) 2nd thing to get is, exalted horde for the 50% faster spawns 3rd thing to get is anything else that does not affect spawns(buff normal monster small buffs, counsil buffs, butcher (if you can kill it fast) etc etc. there is some debate over buffing eltes, it gives bonus aether from AF so i think safest is to avoid if possible. 4th thing is to try to AVOID AF/mass/spire/lord. it is not always possible to avoid af/mass/spire. so chose what you prefer if you cannot avoid AF/mass/spire/lord; my choise is AF>mass>spire>lords, mainly because AF is fast to spawn just by getting close and will then follow you, the other 3 is simply after TTK(time to kill) anyway this is how it seems to be working to me.
One of those aether lords spawn a wall that fills the entire room like a maze, and it completely kills progression if the lord is allowed to cast it. I saw that at the end of a wave once, and I said "nope, not picking that ever again".
It irks me to see the clip of the council nicely grouping up. They seem to constantly move as far apart as they can when I fight them no matter what I do.
they move randomly so sometimes they just naturally group up. They are immune to CC so it's the only way for that to happen... or, you know, play a rogue with ricocheting arrows, shoot one mob and all of it ricocheting into one or both other ones anyway xD Currently I play Barrage so the last one is generally a pain with it constantly fleeing any time I try to shotgun into it.

I went with Flurry because I like the dash mobility along blade shift to be unhindered and insane move speed, damage, regen, etc with the all cut-throat key passive. It's fun, but starting to hit a wall in damage and survivability to a degree. The game has given me a bunch of gear for rapid fire and I'm swapping to that today to try it. It also has a ricochet aspect and I hear it can delete bosses.
Looking forward to pushing Hordes once my Barb gets some more DR. I am taking a massive amount of damage this season compared to last. Armor capped/res capped and still sometimes get 1 shot by mobs a mere 20 lvls higher than me. Progression is slower this season but I am sure it will all fall into place once I get my gear to a good spot.

One thing i learned: If you get Hellborns a lot, that's a lucky RNG and you could get 1000+ in T7. BUT, the real tip: what to do when you don't get this rare luck. I get 550/600+ from doubling down on Aether fiends and SKIPPING hellborn (if it showed W5+) for extra +aether per fiend. getting upto 5 per fiend is the second best. But i always get lower Aether if i choose a "late wave" hellborn. Making the buffs fragmented on multiple things.
one tirck to deal with the desecrators is to get infront of them as soon as the spawn, as far as I know they wont use that fireball slam if u are keeping a close distance with them
I was just looking for this. Ever since I moved from tier 4 to 5 I noticed that I get less resources which is weird because the monsters density feels higher. Thanks for the video!
One thing I'd like Blizzard to add is an option to make the attack visual effects of other players more transparent, similar to the Necromancer's minions. It's almost impossible to see anything on the battlefield. This is a problem in Hardcore mode to avoid enemy attacks.
The new barrier on rogue is an insane DR, I practically sit in all aoe in T8 and don't die, I also have the tyrael's might but without the barrier I die fast. Temper it on amulet and boots and got 120% max life barrier (can go much higher), it refreshes all the time because I can spam very fast barrage on the andy spec. And this doesn't take in consideration all the CCs of the rogue already has, smoke grenade with daze is perfect for everything (like first elite when entering the horde).
Also, the Butcher only appears for that 1 round while other buffs persist through all the rounds so you are basically choosing no future round buffs if you choose the Butcher. It is the compounding effects of the buffs that increase aether substantially

My new char clears Tier 7 Hordes easily. I farmed the gear, including two Mythic Unique items by doing speed runs in level 61 of the Pit. I don't like doing Hordes. I still think the best way to farm Stygian is Pit runs. Of course , my new build can speed-farm much deeper in the Pit, which is nice. Hordes take forever and you have to like that kind of combat--frantic, overwhelming, chaotic. ...not my cup o' tea.
it can happen, especially if you play a rogue with Dark Shroud reliant on aspect instead of having it on a bar. He generally attacks pretty slowly tho, so you can just get close, and as soon as he starts moving, just use your movement skill or dodge and hit him from the back a couple times. I've learned to just Dash through him and shotgun him with barrage point blank in the back.
you shouldnt even lose any hp as a lightning spear sorc with all the barriers and damage reduces. i suspect you dont use them to much. things like the 30% dmg reduce from teleport and the shields, the only way i lose some hp is when i eat some fire on the ground. i even only have 20k hp. yes i have mythic items now but even before it wasnt a problem.
Let me just say that me and my friend had 79 aether after wave 4, but after that we got some good banes and spawns and ended with 560 aether after 9 waves.. So it is possible to regain a lot of aether even though having a very bad start :)
Yeah, at first I hate him when spawn and instakill me, but now it’s one of the few things that make the activity engaging, looking out for the desecrator and outplaying it, I will be a bit sad if he will be nerfed 😂
@@Chomp96 I wouldn’t mind a slight nerf! Like the maximum amount of dmg he can do is 85% of max hp or something. So if you’re smashing it in full like and didn’t notice him in the chaos you’re. It going to get owned in one hit. And those poor poor hardcore players haha.
Does it make me gain less aethers if i just prolong to kill all of the hellbornes at the end of time? I cant get more than 600+, my best aether runs is only 650-680. I cant get to 700+++. Im running at t8.
A fair warning, I have encountered a nasty bug once in a run where I was left with a fairly large group of untargetable regular cannibal mobs that also couldn’t be damaged indirectly. I’ve only encountered this once, but just a heads up for those who play hardcore that it might happen.
I can farm T8 easy now and start to min-max my gear. But the skin and steel is a big problem. Any tips to fix or get them? I’m doing legends for 1000ish drop. But they don’t last a few seconds
yeah when the whole screen is full of mobs and simultaneously all exploding, it's pretty much impossible to see them spawn, let alone notice their ground AoE indicators. Either you survive a hit or not in that case.
hard to say. Multiple times harder each tier. Like, the rogue I'm currently leveling has 12.5k HP, fortify from dodges and 30% HP as barrier. In tier 2 I'm immortal with maybe, MAYBE butcher being able to hit me for more than the barrier. In tier 3 elites have a coin toss whether I'm 1shot or survive on a few HP and I need more HP to do it without dying randomly. I'd say it looks like 10x difference between T2 and T3. It probably tapers off a bit near the end cause I doubt ANY build would survive 10x 9 times for all the tiers.
I finished campaign, been going around clearing all the side dungeons and every dungeon boss is dropping at the very least, a legendary with a greater affix and have dropped multiple uniques for me. I'm also on Eternal Realms
I got clapped by 2 desecraters the other day on wave 9 before i realized how dangerous they were. I juiced the hellborn and elite damage. Wont make that mistake again.
What sorta stats would you recommend for a lightning spear sorc to survive and clear T7? I got 8.8k armor pre max roll disobedience stacks, 20k hp and maxed res. I feel very squishy and get one tapped fairly easily once I make it to council. Also took alot of DR paragon and aspects.
Have a look at Maxrolls Sorcerer Lightning Spear Guide or Mekunas. With that Setup i can easily clear T8. But Tyraels Might IS MASSIVE for survival and Shako helps quiet abit too. You should Always have max Armor (9125 or something Like that?) or Else youre Missing Slot of damage reduction
Good for exp farming but the rewards are not worth the effort tbh...t6 up is very difficult to clear for most builds but at the end the rewards are just...bad
"50% faster event spawn" With / without this I have already have some blank moment where I complete clear almost every mobs, and the next event has not spawned yet. I doubt that there's a soft cap of the amount of event per wave.
What I have happened to me in a Tier 8 horde is that I picked the Butcher at wave 5 or 6 or so and he spawned, gave 25 Aether, and the next wave he spawned again and gave 25 aether again without picking the boon again. So maybe there is a small chance he can just respawn once you pick him? But as you said, there are definetely less monsters spawning while the Butcher is active.
Desecrator should be definitely nerfed... as wudi mentioned - it's more scary than the aether lords, infernal butcher, or the council. Something's wrong with how its damage scales.
There should be like an "Aether boost" for completing other content to incentivise us to do old content AND get rewarded like 100% Aether boost if world boss was killed in last 5 min or somethign
Where and how can I get this "artillery shrine"/"holy bolts elixir" effect that everyone is using? I went to the alchemist and didn't find the holybolt elixir crafting recipe...do you actually need to farm this recipe like a glyph now in the season 5? I got all the way to 100 without it

you sure you're not just sitting in a city then? They drop constantly from everything but Infernal Hordes themselves. Do Helltides, whispers, dungeons, whatever. I constantly have a full inventory of them
they drop everywhere besides in the infernal horde itself, i get mine mostly from those extra chests you get after you completed the reputation grind. they drop 2 per chests.
The materials to summon the Maiden seem helluva rarer too. Last season I regularly had 50+ of them, this season the most I ever got to was like 7. It feels worse than it is, since Helltides have a lot less people now that they are in Infernal Hordes, so there's not a maiden up constantly at all times like before. Even if you get like 6 people fighting there, everyone's as low on mats as you are, so maybe you get to summon her like, twice, before everyone runs out and has to go farm lesser mobs
The 60 aether chest is a joke it's a waste of aether I hardly ever get ga gear I get more out the 20 chest for gear I usually do materials chest though
Even when you can’t see the desecrator you always know he’s on screen because you’re running around completely fine and the all the sudden your globe hits 10% lol then I panic. Any hardcore players out there using the new affix that grants immunity when you receive a certain % of damage to hp? I think it has a 15 second CD with a 5 second uptime. HP on my Druid is 52K with fortitude potion and I’m running tassets pants so fire resist sits at 85% during infernal most of the time. Regardless they are way over tuned lol
Leave hordes as it is except add normal boss mats in the chests, then reduce SLIGHTLY the mythic drop rate. Normal boss mats are the bottleneck now, if I had more mats I could alternate between hordes and tormented boss more Having 100 Stygian without normal mats is dumb
Better solution, just remove material requirements to summon bosses, and let us kill as much as we can, and only require stygian stone for torment version spawns. Or dont even require stygian stone too :D.
why would they do that? Then you wouldn't have to go engage with other parts of the game for their player engagement spreadsheets. Classic AAA live service design.
@@legi0n47x if all you had to do was get good enough to smash tormented bosses then you could farm them non stop it would make it pretty boring and I assume player would drop off. Just my opinion though. It’s all about player time, and higher player time directly relates to higher chances of spending in the shop.
Hi everyone for me it's infernal buged horde, have farm more than 10 hours yesterday get butcher sometime even if i don't take the boon... 95% of time big chest don't give any GA, no stygian stone in t7 with thousand of aethers spend...and as wudi say in the video desecrator of shit just one shot mechanic me with 1 of his 3 fire balls stupid design again... blizzard ice spike defense is shit now because of ice armor nerf was really not great but now who have infinite shield because can spam all of his cooldown

You need to also use the undying aspect. Bc of this, my ww barb just keeps leeching his life back and I didn’t have these dot issues since.

I had him re-spawn the next wave last night. Chance is prob low, but it can happen.
I don't think I ever got Butcher to pick for any round except the last. Have you?

@@legi0n47x he can spawn just like in NMDs. I've had him spawn without selecting anything. It's a guaranteed spawn if you select the buff.
I've gotten three spawns in a run.
Btw. The desecrator typically 1 taped me with 140k hp maxed armor and 80%resistances with shako, Doombringer and tyriels might in t7+ hordes

Bone Thrall Ballistas are the reason No. 1 i die the most in infernal hordes, by far.
Group play - split into 4 separate hoards and then join on the person that has Hellbourne after wave 1.

Let me just say that me and my friend had 79 aether after wave 4, but after that we got some good banes and spawns and ended with 560 aether after 9 waves..
So it is possible to regain a lot of aether even though having a very bad start :)

Yeah, at first I hate him when spawn and instakill me, but now it’s one of the few things that make the activity engaging, looking out for the desecrator and outplaying it, I will be a bit sad if he will be nerfed 😂
@@Chomp96 I wouldn’t mind a slight nerf! Like the maximum amount of dmg he can do is 85% of max hp or something. So if you’re smashing it in full like and didn’t notice him in the chaos you’re. It going to get owned in one hit.

Does it make me gain less aethers if i just prolong to kill all of the hellbornes at the end of time? I cant get more than 600+, my best aether runs is only 650-680. I cant get to 700+++. Im running at t8.

A fair warning, I have encountered a nasty bug once in a run where I was left with a fairly large group of untargetable regular cannibal mobs that also couldn’t be damaged indirectly. I’ve only encountered this once, but just a heads up for those who play hardcore that it might happen.

I can farm T8 easy now and start to min-max my gear. But the skin and steel is a big problem. Any tips to fix or get them? I’m doing legends for 1000ish drop. But they don’t last a few seconds
so far i learned that investing into Hellborne is the only way to go. I got up to 520 Aether by just picking anything related to Hellborne.
Desecrators need a fix. When the screen is so cluttered all the time it just sucks dying from an offscreen enemy...
yeah when the whole screen is full of mobs and simultaneously all exploding, it's pretty much impossible to see them spawn, let alone notice their ground AoE indicators. Either you survive a hit or not in that case.
So how bad are the oneshots in this mode for hardcore? How spooky is the transition to a higher tier if you are comfortable doing the previous tier?
hard to say. Multiple times harder each tier. Like, the rogue I'm currently leveling has 12.5k HP, fortify from dodges and 30% HP as barrier. In tier 2 I'm immortal with maybe, MAYBE butcher being able to hit me for more than the barrier. In tier 3 elites have a coin toss whether I'm 1shot or survive on a few HP and I need more HP to do it without dying randomly. I'd say it looks like 10x difference between T2 and T3. It probably tapers off a bit near the end cause I doubt ANY build would survive 10x 9 times for all the tiers.
I finished campaign, been going around clearing all the side dungeons and every dungeon boss is dropping at the very least, a legendary with a greater affix and have dropped multiple uniques for me. I'm also on Eternal Realms

What sorta stats would you recommend for a lightning spear sorc to survive and clear T7? I got 8.8k armor pre max roll disobedience stacks, 20k hp and maxed res. I feel very squishy and get one tapped fairly easily once I make it to council. Also took alot of DR paragon and aspects.
Have a look at Maxrolls Sorcerer Lightning Spear Guide or Mekunas. With that Setup i can easily clear T8. But Tyraels Might IS MASSIVE for survival and Shako helps quiet abit too. You should Always have max Armor (9125 or something Like that?) or Else youre Missing Slot of damage reduction

What tier do Stygian stones drop. I haven’t seen them drop once. I have only done one tier 7 though.

With / without this I have already have some blank moment where I complete clear almost every mobs, and the next event has not spawned yet.
I doubt that there's a soft cap of the amount of event per wave.
What I have happened to me in a Tier 8 horde is that I picked the Butcher at wave 5 or 6 or so and he spawned, gave 25 Aether, and the next wave he spawned again and gave 25 aether again without picking the boon again. So maybe there is a small chance he can just respawn once you pick him? But as you said, there are definetely less monsters spawning while the Butcher is active.

Desecrator should be definitely nerfed... as wudi mentioned - it's more scary than the aether lords, infernal butcher, or the council. Something's wrong with how its damage scales.
I only take butcher if I already have the invigorating hellborne, because that melts everything

Where and how can I get this "artillery shrine"/"holy bolts elixir" effect that everyone is using? I went to the alchemist and didn't find the holybolt elixir crafting recipe...do you actually need to farm this recipe like a glyph now in the season 5? I got all the way to 100 without it

It's not going away. Its a permanent feature. The Hellbreach Dungeons however will go away when season ends.

you sure you're not just sitting in a city then? They drop constantly from everything but Infernal Hordes themselves. Do Helltides, whispers, dungeons, whatever. I constantly have a full inventory of them
they drop everywhere besides in the infernal horde itself, i get mine mostly from those extra chests you get after you completed the reputation grind. they drop 2 per chests.
you can craft them at the occultist, takes the same thing as glyphs for nmd

Helltide isn't giving as many boss materials as last season.
The materials to summon the Maiden seem helluva rarer too. Last season I regularly had 50+ of them, this season the most I ever got to was like 7. It feels worse than it is, since Helltides have a lot less people now that they are in Infernal Hordes, so there's not a maiden up constantly at all times like before. Even if you get like 6 people fighting there, everyone's as low on mats as you are, so maybe you get to summon her like, twice, before everyone runs out and has to go farm lesser mobs
The 60 aether chest is a joke it's a waste of aether I hardly ever get ga gear I get more out the 20 chest for gear I usually do materials chest though
Even when you can’t see the desecrator you always know he’s on screen because you’re running around completely fine and the all the sudden your globe hits 10% lol then I panic.
Any hardcore players out there using the new affix that grants immunity when you receive a certain % of damage to hp? I think it has a 15 second CD with a 5 second uptime. Just wanted to see how you guys feel about it.

HP on my Druid is 52K with fortitude potion and I’m running tassets pants so fire resist sits at 85% during infernal most of the time. Regardless they are way over tuned lol
Leave hordes as it is except add normal boss mats in the chests, then reduce SLIGHTLY the mythic drop rate. Normal boss mats are the bottleneck now, if I had more mats I could alternate between hordes and tormented boss more

Better solution, just remove material requirements to summon bosses, and let us kill as much as we can, and only require stygian stone for torment version spawns. Or dont even require stygian stone too :D.
why would they do that? Then you wouldn't have to go engage with other parts of the game for their player engagement spreadsheets. Classic AAA live service design.

@@legi0n47x if all you had to do was get good enough to smash tormented bosses then you could farm them non stop it would make it pretty boring and I assume player would drop off. Just my opinion though. It’s all about player time, and higher player time directly relates to higher chances of spending in the shop.

Hi everyone for me it's infernal buged horde, have farm more than 10 hours yesterday get butcher sometime even if i don't take the boon...
95% of time big chest don't give any GA, no stygian stone in t7 with thousand of aethers spend...and as wudi say in the video desecrator of shit just one shot mechanic me with 1 of his 3 fire balls stupid design again...
blizzard ice spike defense is shit now because of ice armor nerf was really not great but now who have infinite shield because can spam all of his cooldown
