Yay thanks for posting this, my family prep the pineapple the same way you do with salt and the spiral cut, but I always have difficulty explaining to people. Now I can just send them your video!
No, gargling with salt water will not rebind the proteins in your mouth that have been practically dissolved. Your mouth should go back to normal on its own after a few hours from now or tomorrow morning.
It does remove some of the sugar on the outside of the pineapple, but it still tastes delicious. Also relieving to know that the pineapple is no longer eating you back after you soak it!
Just a teenie bit, but not too noticeable! You can add 1-2 teaspoons of salt but if you're afraid of it changing the taste of the pineapple, go with 1 teaspoon. Would love to hear how it goes 😁
I wished I had of watched the video first. My pineapple had no green in it at all and it was honey sweet. But my lips, are blisters, I have deep slits in the roof of my mouth and my tongue is swelling and my throat feels like I swallowed razor blades. Can I take the cut pieces and soak them in salt water still?
Don't try 5 hours passed I also did brush but no change, my tongue have red marks my hot is also red I will try salt or yougrt solution from other comments.
YASSSS, I never understood why until recently! I was so shocked when the upper part of the mouth was peeling from eating fresh pineapples and decided to do some research 😂
There is a way to use the scraps from the pineapple! Look it up. A Mexican beverage, and dehydration of core ALSO, other ways to avoid sore mouth. .. Eat w yogurt, etc.
Not sure if the salt thing actually works. My mom cuts the same way, and let it sit in salt water. Maybe it an Asian thing. But I still get the irritation from the pineapple numerous times.
Yeah my parents swear by it and the pineapple is always found in a pool of salt water after cutting 😂 It also tastes better to me cuz it adds a bit of saltiness to the pineapple (might've been acquired tho!). I fine that the more unripe pineapple tend to burn a bit more as well as the stem. Bromelain is what's causing the burn and a lot of the bromelain actually comes from the stem so maybe avoid eating that unless it's a very ripe pineapple!
@@Lorrycraves yeah! I just had a nicely golden ripe pineapple yesterday. Wasn't as irritating even without the salt. Lol. Eat goldy ripe might work better for me.
kind of rude! I think her video was just fine and if you are a knife expert perhaps make a friendly suggestion and son't call her whole video a "mess"-here is challenge for you now-make a better video! Let's see how you do and we will criticize it freely

One question if you have the pineapple in the water and salt will it make it less sweet?
It does remove some of the sugar on the outside of the pineapple, but it still tastes delicious. Also relieving to know that the pineapple is no longer eating you back after you soak it!

So the salt water doesn't make it taste salty? how much salt?
Just a teenie bit, but not too noticeable! You can add 1-2 teaspoons of salt but if you're afraid of it changing the taste of the pineapple, go with 1 teaspoon. Would love to hear how it goes 😁
@@Lorrycraves Thanks, I'll try it with 1 teaspoon for starters! 😁
@@Up-To-Speed Sounds great! Let me know how you like this little hack 😁
I find whipped cream helpful so much and use excessive amount but not too much tho. 💙😊🍍
Great tip! I'm definitely trying that next time

Wow I needed this! Lesson learned! Sniff the pineapple's bum to see if it's good!
The bootay is where it's at 😂

How can the saltwater penetrate deeply enough to activate the enzymes in the core of the pieces?
I'm not really sure to be honest but I think it'll penetrate that far in. It definitely helps to remove some of the bromelain on the surface.
I can't say I've ever burned my mouth eating a pineapple.
I started bleeding😂 on my lips
That’s what my mom does too!

That's so cool!! Thanks for sharing that, I love finding ways to use scraps. Usually my mom just composts it.

I wish you could cute my pineapple for me because you do it fabulouslyyyyyyy

Did you say 15 or 50 minutes?
15 minutes 😁
Your hands are very beautiful 🥰🥰🥰🥰😘😘😘
So much work 😭😭

@@cheerry777 Yes I totally agree, the more ripe it is, the less the burn! Glad we were able to find a way for you to enjoy pineapples!!
@chouryyam do you know the 🍍pineapples out cover makes our tongue sour Or burn...
We have to cut same like mam
That knife is dull
My mom cuts and does the salt and water just like u.. it might be an Asian thing
Omgosh I was thinking that too!!! Whenever I have pineapple outside of home, it tastes raw 😂
What a mess! Use. sharper knife next time!
Hahah that was the only one available at the time, it was part of a knife kit. I have invested in a more sturdy and sharp knife since then 😁
