- Tekken 3 is the third installment in the popular Tekken fighting game series. It was released for Arcades in March 1997, and for the PlayStation in March - September 1998. The original Arcade version of the game was released in 2005 for the PlayStation 2 as part of Tekken 5's Arcade History mode. Tekken 3 is still widely considered one of the greatest games of its genre, and of all time.
Tekken Tag Tournament 2 (鉄拳タッグトーナメント2 Tekken Taggu Tōnamento 2), unofficially shortened as TTT2, is the 10th installment in the Tekken fighting game series, and is the successor to the 1999 game, Tekken Tag Tournament.

The arcade version features all 41 playable characters from Tekken 6 (including Panda as a non-palette swap character) along with Jun Kazama from Tekken 2, True Ogre from Tekken 3 and Jinpachi Mishima from Tekken 5 all with updated character designs. Devil Kazuya also makes an appearance but as an in-game transformation of Kazuya and Unknown from Tekken Tag Tournament also reappears as one of the final bosses. The game also introduces a new masked character named Jaycee (ジェイシー Jeishī?) who is in fact Julia Chang's alter-ego. She retains her fighting style of Chinese Kenpo, with added Lucha Libre moves.
In Tekken Tag Tournament 2, a lot of characters speak in their native language. This has been noticed as Lili speaks French, Eddy Gordo and Christie Monteiro speak Portuguese, Leo Kliesen speaks German and Miguel Caballero Rojo speaks Spanish. Still, there are some characters that do not speak in their native language (e.g. Lei Wulong still speaks English despite being from Hong Kong).
The game was released in Japanese arcades on September 14, 2011 and received an update, subtitled Unlimited, released on March 27, 2012 in Japanese arcades. A console version based on the update will be released for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 in September 2012, and for the Wii U during Winter 2012.
As in the original Tekken Tag Tournament, matches involve each player selecting two fighters to fight with. Players are able to switch their fighters out at any time, allowing the inactive character to gradually recover some life they might have lost. At certain points, an inactive character's life bar may flash, giving them a temporary boost in strength if they are tagged in. If the life bar of either of a player's fighters runs out, that player loses the round. If time runs out, the player who has the most cumulative life remaining amongst their fighters wins the round.
The gameplay expands on the tag mechanics featured in the first Tekken Tag, allowing for extended tag combos and combined moves. New techniques include combined tag throws which, if timed properly, can be escaped from.[9] Tag combos (referred to as "Tag Assaults") can now be done simultaneously with both characters participating in the combo at the same time. The game also inherits gameplay features from Tekken 6, such as "Bound" hits (hits that slam an airborne opponent to the ground and stun them so combos can be extended) and walled arenas. Character-customization is also be featured, similar to past Tekken games.
Features suggested by Harada include recording in Practice mode as well as a Tutorial to bring new players into the fold more smoothly than has been possible in the past. The game features a "stage gimmick" system. An example of the system shown in Famitsu has the player slamming his opponent into wall, which breaks and the opponent goes flying, landing in a new area where the fight continues. As the opponent falls, the tag partner is waiting at the bottom to continue the combo.
Man the intro with Hwoarang is still priceless. When I first saw it as a kid I was completely STUNNED by the fantastic graphics.
me too man and the timing with the music CLASSIC!!!
ikr?!it looked freakin amazing back then!!hell it still holds up today!
I remember this one my favorite Tekken game used to play this all the time arcade game
Yes!!
The form he performed in this video was the exact form I learned when I got my brown belt in taekwondo. Didnt realize it until I played years later and saw it! Completely stunned and impressed me with the accuracy! Only difference is he cant open his hand for the ridge/open hand strikes/blocks. He was my favorite character as a kid before I ever took taekwondo. Still my favorite although they changed his combo inputs in like tekken 5/6 cant remember which one but it really upset me, I had known his classic combos for years and was so good with him
i feel sorry for kids who missed this era. playing this in the arcade for first time was pure bliss.
For real bro, i played this in PS1 when i was a kid. The game that introduced me to this fantastic series.
Agreed haha
don't be, we are living in THE BEST ERA OF GAMING
I played this on ps1
@@mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm3153 spoken true words its oldskool and those slaves of social medium cant enjoy that because wasting time with social medium crap
I remember trying to copy their moves, doing exactly what they did in this video ahh good times
yess
I remember when i was 7, trying to do no hands front flip the way ling xiouyu does in the full opening. i landed on my back and knocked the wind out of my lungs for a good 15 seconds
Only real ones know
Haha oh my god me too! Jeez I was only like 10 years old at the time...
Yo same!!! I used to play this all the time at my local Big Lots up until I got a PS1. It's the first game I have vivid memories of playing besides Pac-Man & Galaga
"Good morning."
Will set this as an alarm from now on
Yeah Ture LOL!
Steve Sa TEKKEN 3!
You just stole my comment i havent made yet
It’s honestly too quiet
This was Yoshi's best outfit out of the whole Tekken saga.
ikr ):
preach
Damn right.
yes sir u are correct best yoshi design to date
His octopus look is rank
i love the *chicken* voice when you get the chicken in tekken force mode
*chickennnnnnnnnn*
That's hard to forget lol chickennnnnn
Jenni Valentine ded same
grouk chikN 😂
Lmfao!!!! Facts OMG!!! He had a deep voice *CHICKEN*
Ahh yes memories
Hwoarang doing the Taekwondo form he is named after is the best. :D
Little late to the party. But that is actually my favourite tul
I didn’t know his name is a form of taekwondo thank you for this knowledge
This is the greatest thing ever put to a fighting game.
Man i can't tell you HOW many times i've seen this intro as a kid. First in the arcades and then later when i got it on the PS1. I still think it's just as great now as it was back then. Love Tekken 3 man, it's still my favorite game in the franchise even now.
We need awesome laid back intros again in 2020!
The part with Lei Wulong and Martial Law is easily the best part, I can never get enough of it
Martial Law is the name of Sammo Hongs tv show from the 90s :)
It's like the cut between Jackie Chan and his idol Bruce Lee.
@@Zahok1 bro! I thought i was the only one who remembered that show!!
What a game, brings back memories, Hwoarang was my favourite.
Craic-Dealer Yeah he was a beast ,my favourite was probably Yoshimitsu :D
lol yoshimitsu it was so hard to play
É o vila CPS not if you knew the right strings.
I hear ya, just wondering was there a way to watch this on the PS1 copy?
true story: I would watch this intro as a kid and try to imitate to Hworang's warm-up routine in my living room because I thought his moves were so cool.
I feel like a lot of us did that! I know I did. Funny thing is, I wound up taking up Taekwondo a few years later....
Same haha and after this i start kickboxing
I tried kings moves with a pillow ahh memories of my childhood
Same, when I was 4 I broke my arm and I felt cool cuz I thought my cast made me look like I had a fighting glove so I'd always imitate Hworang's warm up even when I had a broken arm
I still think it's as cool as I did when I was 5 playing Tekken 3
Hwoarang is so cool here. The rivalry with Jin is awesome. Jin is the angry, goal-driven, quiet stoic. Hwoarang is the fiery hothead always ready for action.
This pumped me every time i went to the arcades... Somebody always ended up gettin his ass kicked because of my Hwoarang addiction
illuziano I used to (when I was in grade school) go to the arcade and school high school kids all day. Wanna talk about being pissed off at a child 😂🤣😂🤣.
Me as a kid begging my mom for quarters when I saw this, this was everywhere in arcades back in the day. Ahhh good times. 😁
It's so ironic I took Taekwondo 6 year after playing this, Hwoarang was my favorite/best Character and I had no idea he was a practitioner of Taekwondo.
BlackDoll NerdPrd that’s rad. As fictional as Tekken is I like that the fighting styles of each character is based on real styles
The Bluwolf Gamer very faithfully, too. A lot of people, including myself when I was younger, knocked on Tekken’s characters for not having many special moves like Street Fighter or Mortal Kombat, and the most ‘special’ things that could be done for the characters were either giving them a sword or making them fire lasers out of their forehead.
I’m actually in a similar situation with Blackdoll here, how he subconsciously favorited a character who practiced the same martial art he was without even realizing it, I favorited Jin for pretty much any reason everyone else likes him, like how he looks cool, his story’s badass, Devil Jin, so on and so on, but I never differentiated the different fighting styles when I first saw the characters, since I only understood martial arts as “the stuff Jackie Chan does”. I just looked at Eddy before and thought “ok, this guy’s a breakdancer”, but after studying martial arts, primarily Kyoukushin Karate (here’s where I am before realizing Jin’s style) and hearing my dad talk about some of them like Muay Thai, then coming back to see the game again, I look at Eddy now and think “ok, this guy’s a capoeirista”, and Tekken has become one of my favorite one-on-one fighting games because of how despite its wacky and cartoonish quirks about it, it’s very faithful to the actual martial arts being displayed on the game itself.
Not only that, but in this cinematic he is performing a TKD pattern that is his namesake.
He does the Hwa-Rang pattern in the intro which I think is really cool :D
*I was in Taekwon Do during the time and it was dope seeing him do Blue Belt Kata as that was my favorite and I was a Blue Belt then*
im 14 and i never played this game until i got my hands on a playstation classic, and i just loved this soundtrack.
I'm 14 and I actually own a copy on ps1
My favorite soundtrack in the series
A true game based in real martial arts.
Taekwondo, Jiu jitsu, Judo, Kickbox, MMA, Wrestling, Kung fu, Aikido etc
@@devil_advocate-ly6xn Who did kickboxing?
And then there is Yoshimitsu and whatever tf he does
@@frosted8317 Bruce Irvin!! Although after saying that I realize he wasn’t in Tekken 3. Bryan Fury was sort of his replacement.
@Someone Somewhere The swordsman, demons, and tiny dino man only serve to make the realistic fighters more impressive.
Kids these days will never know
Ty Iyona im saying
When Tekken 3 came out on Playstation back in the day, I wore that thing out!
Ty Iyona *cough* tekken 5.
lol I'm one of the few kids that does know, I'm 16 and I'm so glad my dad introduced me to classic games such as this. Been playing this since i was 6 years old
They'll never know the struggle of playing this demo that came with the ps1
In my opinion one of the best intros ever
ill never forget..on ps1 you would only get this intro sometimes. The 1st time i saw it i was BLOWN AWAY. Still brings a smile to my face lol
Why they haven’t made a remastered version of this game with remastered versions of these OSTs is still beyond me man!!!! Best fucking fighting game of all time!!!
@@PowerL1N3 they really should’ve done that after Kazuya was announced for smash.
Out of all the Tekken games, this is the one I always fondly remember seeing at a local Cici's Pizza next to CarnEvil arcade cabinet ; as well as seeing this in the mall, and then playing this non-stop on the PS2 ( PS1 Copy ) .
Law and Lei had the coolest back and forth. Yoshimitsu part was sick.
この鉄拳3が一番面白かった
tekken3 is the best of tekken series
Omg this song bring so many memories i always tried to suit like hwoarang and doing their moves :) ooh those times, i always used to watch these
because of hworang i started doing Tae Kwon Do now i have the brown belt :)
Good for you :)
SiefausOsna do you know the name of this hworang moves? or its just random ?
dom0084 the boxing moves are called "jeong-gwon jireugi" and the first kick he does is the "yeop chagi" the two kicks he does afterwards are called "dollyeochagi". Greets from germany :)
As well :)
My childhood :')
The nostalgia hurts...
They gotta remaster this. They just gotta.
Ahhh the joy of walking into the dollar movies back in the day and going into the arcade and hearing this playing.....good times
That’s exactly where I heard this every weekend, they had that machine by the time the PS2 was being phased out lol
I remember losing my shit when I first saw this in the arcade. I was practicing Taekwondo at the time, and I'd just learned the exact form that Hwoarang is doing not that long ago. The form is actually called Hwoarang by the way.
Don’t wish to be a Blue belt know-it-all in Taekwondo but it’s called Hwarang
Best part is the Jackie Chan and Bruce Lee moves
Thank you Steve for the laughs
Dududururudududuru didididididi
This is peak Tekken right here.
i know hwoarang is doing a real taekwondo form. i just cant put my finger on it
Hwa-Rang tul lol. after all he is named after it
hes named after his form lol
Late to the party but I think you guys got whooshed
its the pattern you perform at graduation to advance from red to black
I learned that exact form when I got my brown belt in taekwondo. Just shows how mucb accurate detail they put into each characters fighting styles!
This is the form here, move for move identical, posted by my old dojo

0:53 that disbalance of eddy😂
This is such an amazing intro, this is when we were like “Man, video games are REAL dude!” This was the greatest Tekken of all time in my opinion, the cutscenes were interesting and the gameplay was really great!
yoshimitsu and eddy are my favorite parts

damn, paul's knee is brutally destroyed by nina. nice rolling leglock
I miss when 3d graphics was a new and novel concept seeing this for the first time was absolutely mind blowing. Even with newer games having insanely good graphics its just not as impressive anymore it isnt new its expected. I feel a big problem with the gaming industry today is a lack of novelty though I do think indy games are helping a lot with this.
I agree back then Tekken 2 or 3 was all you needed for nonstop entertainment. Now I have Tekken 7 and its incredible but I havent even scratched the surface on everything the game has to offer
Tekken 3 was in the campus union arcade during my freshman and sophomore years of college. Man, those were the days! I remember my roommate had a PS1 and we would play Street Fighter Alpha between classes in the honors dorm. We were living on the edge big time! 🤓
Being a martial arts fan and watching this for the first time in the hall of a showcase cinema in Argentina I was in complete awe; I think is the best intro of a fighting game ever
They had big speakers on the arcade cabinet back in the day, you could sit there and just watch this intro all day and be amazed . Probably the last great arcade phenomenon
I used to love this so much as a kid, because I thought the characters looked like they were free styling.
Yeah same
I remember walking in and seeing this intro played being blown away that Hwoarang was using the green belt form I was practicing at the time.
My dad broke my first PS2 (stepped on it and slammed it against the wall) cause I was on the brink of failing school playing this game 😂 good times.
Oof
More like traumatizing 😰
Lmfaoo psp for me bro
You can play it on a emulator
I remenber watching this on loop everytime i went to the arcade.
This was my favorite intro I played tekken 3 on ps2 when you can play previous tekkens on tekken 5 i always used to choose tekken 3
Everytime I see embu, Hwoarang warming up his taekwondo is my top favourite memorable scene, alongside Ling Xiaoyu, Lei Wulong, Yoshimitsu, Forest Law, and Jin. Embu inspires me not only a better Tekken player, but aslo learning taekwondo. I hope one day the current generation kids play Tekken 3 how awesome and unique the experience it was.
So much nostalgia I used to love this intro to this game don’t think there has been one I have loved as much as this one since! Also this was definitely Eddie’s best form used to always play as him!
This randomly popped in my head this morning, nostalgia man.
I loved going to the arcade and playing this as a kid, even if I didn't know was doing
Namco could remake any of the first 3 intros as advertisement for a new Tekken and it would bank. Like when NRS used "Test your Might" for the final trailer for MK11.
I remember being so hype as a kid when I was 7 years old, and I still have this game on PS1 to use on my PS2 system to play. Brings me back memories looking back at the intro I remember the good old days when me and my cousin used to play this.
I remember first encountering this game, nearly 20 years ago at a resort in New Caledonia!
tekken part 3 was the best of all. it had taste, it was mature, serious, it hold together. even the music is on another level than other tekkens.
I feel like this can also be said about tekken 4
@@darkk_darkk :O this is the silliest thing you could say. I hope you are joking, but if you are not - just look at some ending movies (when you finish arcade with a character) whatever you call them; cutscenes i guess. I specifically remember hwoarand and jin being attacked by... dunno, mishima guys??, men with guns :) whatever.
Just watch that cutscene. it's tekken 4 in a nutshell.
tekken 5 wasn't bad tho.
왜 아무도 현찰스님 언급없냐
나도 그거보고옴ㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ
Tekken 3 gave us both hwaorang and Eddy, two of the most bad ass and cool characters from the tekken series.
The game intro of my childhood. So glad I grew up playing this game
I miss when they had soundtracks like these in fighting games. Drum breaks and synthesizers. Makes you feel like a badass.
¡Amo éste juego! Lo jugaba cuando tenía 17 años y practicaba kung fu, año 1996, que recuerdos Saludos desde Venezuela.
Imagine if we experience peak Bruce Lee and Jackie Chan doing this?
Damn Law and Leis transition is badass.
I used to just stare at this in the arcade completely mesmerised by it, never once played it in the arcade though, it was all about the tickets and prizes for us lol
Brooo I remember I recorded this on my phone and used it as my alarm. Even the "Good morning" part. Best believe I was up on time every morning lol
Kings Muscle Buster move is what made me spam button his grapple combos lol
This always played on the Tekken 3 Arcade. My favorite Tekken game!!!!
I remember disobeying my dad and running back to the arcade in mega bowl I just couldn’t keep my eyes of this stunning game I was just 15 im 37 now, and btw yes I could cry niagra falls, time machine ASAP
I love when the camera cuts to the other characters, the music changes. Such a small detail but it makes that much more of an awesome difference. I always used to have a respect for Nina for flipping Paul over like that and breaking his leg lol
Who is smiling while watching the video😇😋
my god this song sent me back to early 2000s
holy shit my entire body still remembers mimicking everyone here
😊😂
I remember growing up memorizing his routine. I miss this so much. Memories are bitter sweet guardian, it has to, they made sure of it.
I can still hear this intro echoing in the arcades. Good times
I use to watch this all the time the track goes very well great times in my childhood
Wow......jin intro was so epic
I love this game...back when I was younger I used to be fascinated whith the graphics and martial arts....,anyone else?
I could watch this a million times and it would still not get old.
My local movie theater has an arcade. I find any excuse to go there and play with this beautiful machine.
my childhood here
I was so hyped when I saw this at the arcades, especially when I saw Jin's flame pants. I was like "Wait, who's the new kid? He looks sick!"
this may be my favorite intro of all time. it even tops THPS 2. i LOVED tekkenn 3 man
Literally used to watch the 2 intro videos they had one that ps1 demo disc... so many memories of only ever playing as ling and eddy 😂😂👌👌
Gotta put this as my alarm now
forest law - bruce lee , paul phoenix - chuck norris, Lei wulong - jackie chan, raven - wesley snipes,Hwoarang - Wong jae lee/yuen biao bryan - jean claude van damme, Feng - style jet li, baek - Steven seagal,.... que de personajes reales
I'm glad someone else breaks this down, I always thought some of these as a child lol, including Ganryu - E Honda , King - Tiger Mask, im sure theres more
yoshimitsu - Musashi Miyamoto and star wars :p
Bryan is directly based on Roy Batty in Blade Runner.
jesus rosa actually Hwoarang is base on Japanese TKD ITF Champion, Hwang Su il, actually hwoarang's moves came from him (motion capture)
+jesus rosa Jack - Arnold Schwarzenegger
Dang, this really reminds me of the good old arcade days! Great times
0:37 Best part
Man, watching them doing their katas making me wonna do some martial arts training, too. My first fighting styles are Aikido and Ninjutsu; and my weapon styles are Kenjutsu, Iaijutsu, Jojutsu and Kyujutsu.
Hwoarang performing his pattern omfg
My childhood ❤️❤️❤️
This takes me back to when I was a little kid on a vacation in Spain with my late grandpa. Back then information on new games was scarce and mostly available through magazines. At home I had a Playstation and was really into Tekken 1 and 2. I had NO idea Tekken 3 was coming though. I remember heading down the lobby in the hotel we were staying at and seeing an arcade with this playing intro playing. I was -MIND- blown and would stand watching the intro over and over again. I was lucky enough to get to try it once too ❤
Gotta love the fact that Embu intro and character select theme from Tekken 3 is a medley soundtrack in Smash! :D
I used to have this game ❤
As a kid I had good memories playing this game ❤❤❤.
My favorite Tekken Intro Ever 💖
I love that beat when Eddy shows up

This is STILL some of the hardest shit I've ever seen in my life.
Probably the best Tekken intro ever. As Hwoarang main, I'm proud, my character is in the front scene.
I always admired it because it wasn't one of the classic popular characters it was bringing focus to a new face
Imo, the only other tekken into that trumps this one is Tekken 5
