I actually don't mind the public being enamored with her in a cult of celebrity kind of way since that happens in real life with people who aren't super powerful aliens. The problem comes more when her villains and people who know her immediately think she's amazing.

They have to seem clumsier than they are, but they're supposed to project a sort of divine-ness as characters, it's their whole thematic, they're basically olympus gods, and some of their true divine-ness leaks into their every action even in their "human" interactions, which is why people like them for no apparent reason.

Souh Park has better writing is because Trey follows a pretty good rule. The story never goes "Cartman does this and then Kyle does that and then Stan does this and then Kenny does that." Instead the story goes "Cartman does this, which means Kyles does that but Stan does this, which means Kenny does that but Cartman does this." There is at least a connection between goals, motivations and actions.

I think because deep down, people know a man can survive so they find a way to kill the man off early on. You missed the final scene, which was "cut for time." Cat's son walks into his bedroom after taking a shower. He's half naked with a towel wrapped around his shoulders and using one end to dry his hair when _SUDDENLY_ Supergirl flies in through his window with an amorous look on her face and says, "You were so brave tonight." When he replies with a thanks, she poses akimbo, widens her eyes, and continues, "So...I heard you like my legs." Then the scene changes to a shot from downstairs where Cat is listening to music on an iPod while squeaky springs can be heard through the ceiling.
Depends on what is on fire. If it is a burning liquid like gas or oil like in the other episode then hitting it with water or blowing on it is just going to spread it around. But if it is a standard A type fire, burning paper/wood then the cold of her super breath should work just fine. Love your reviews, I don't watch the show anymore but I enjoy your reviews.
I think her cold breath is not going to do anything other than making the fire hotter. In internal combustion engines, you would want to pump in cool, fresh air into the combustion chamber in order to have complete combustion. Unless her breath is 100% CO2, then the fire isn't going to get extinguished.

If you look at how cold most atmospheric gases need to be to change state it's easy to see his breath putting out fires. Not sure if the Supergirl series has ever bothered explaining this though. Early on she needs to get the ever loving piss slapped out of her by someone powerful. Let's go with Amazo since you can do a lot with his powers. At some point in the episode, it is shown on the news that Superman fought Zod and have people speculating if he broke his arm because of an armbar Zod put him in. Then, as Clark Kent, have him show up to Supergirl's apartment with a cast on his arm. He's just visiting family while he heals, that kinda thing. Then have the Supergirl vs Amazo fight happen, she's getting absolutely wrecked and he's about to kill her when Superman shows up [in his Superman gear] with a heavy metal cast on his arm. He then beat Amazo with one arm injured. It should essentially be like the All Might vs Noumu fight which I'll link here: ruclips.net/video/8TFAGAyLzcg/видео.html This is your catalyst for Supergirl to start improving and training and seriously crushes her ego. Then you have inner conflict and a goal for her to reach as well as showing Superman to be a fucking badass. A character isn't strong because they defeat others, they are strong because they defeat themselves. Having you ass kicked and getting shown up by an injured man in one day should be motivation for her to defeat her own character flaws.
Let this just be proof that guys don't just watch and enjoy movies like transformers because there was a hot chick...first off transformers had well animated giant fighting robots. that's how they marketed it my whole life and they executed it perfectly. Is a fair point, though what did appear to make the previous one strange is that the trained firefighter was quoted as saying that Superman would have blown it out by now. Maybe it was cheaper to film on location than make a set or make it more realistic to copy a real place. They had London Eye a giant Ferris wheel in Fantastic Four 2. San Francisco's Golden Gate Bridge in X-Men 3. Paris, France's Effiel Tower in Superman II. Gorgo at Tower of London, King Kong at Empire State building.
Actually they aired this episode out of order. When originally braodcast this episode was pulled a week because of the real life events of the 2015 Paris attacks, so the Live Wire episode was supposed to air after this episode, but instead they switched places. So that's why they don't appear suspicious of Hank yet.

CBS Supergirl made mistake of running at the same time as Gotham on Fox. Marvel's Agents of Shield made the mistake of running at same time as NCIS also about government agents, they finally had sense to move it to a different time.
What a hideous misfire. Challenge: create a sweet child/guardian relationship by having the child like the guardian’s public persona. Implementation: have the child’s obsession be creepy in a way that makes you kinda disturbed by him and then have the guardian make it creepier by asking if the kid thinks they’re “pretty.” So instead of setting up a wholesome protective motive for the third act you set yourself up for massive scary criticism. There are some things you simply can’t afford to blunder this badly

I've read few psychological thrillers made by feminists (sharp objects,the body reader) ..and to be completly honest sometimes they happen to be very decent buf they f**** have to shove their feminism down your throat as either sleaking too much bout how badass a female character ,bring a scene out of nowhere to disscuss feminism and it f**** kills the whole mysterious and chilly mood.

I think because deep down, people know a man can survive so they find a way to kill the man off early on. In the end the female usually survives through outsmarting or over powering the male villain because reasons.
Modern horrors seem to push a feminist narrative. All the men are cowards, nasty, and almost always get talked down too. Men are always wrong.
The most egregious thing is women are generally asswholes and never learn a lesson while a male hero, usually does learn a lesson and pay for his mistakes.

He's half naked with a towel wrapped around his shoulders and using one end to dry his hair when _SUDDENLY_ Supergirl flies in through his window with an amorous look on her face and says, "You were so brave tonight." When he replies with a thanks, she poses akimbo, widens her eyes, and continues, "So...I heard you like my legs." Then the scene changes to a shot from downstairs where Cat is listening to music on an iPod while squeaky springs can be heard through the ceiling.

Depends on what is on fire. If it is a burning liquid like gas or oil like in the other episode then hitting it with water or blowing on it is just going to spread it around. But if it is a standard A type fire, burning paper/wood then the cold of her super breath should work just fine. Love your reviews, I don't watch the show anymore but I enjoy your reviews.
I think her cold breath is not going to do anything other than making the fire hotter. In internal combustion engines, you would want to pump in cool, fresh air into the combustion chamber in order to have complete combustion. Unless her breath is 100% CO2, then the fire isn't going to get extinguished.
@@OmegaF77 The standard explanation for Superman's freezing breath is that the air he sucks in becomes so compressed that it cools to a near liquid state. If you look at how cold most atmospheric gases need to be to change state it's easy to see his breath putting out fires. Not sure if the Supergirl series has ever bothered explaining this though. Hell, I don't even know if they explained why her laser vision is blue instead of red.

Alex is Sam Carter from Stargate SG1. By the end of Season 10, she was expert almost in every field, not just astro physics. She had no weakness, she knew everything in every situation, she just couldn't fail. IF she did fail, it wasn't her fault. Writers made her so perfect , it was unbelievably boring.

At some point in the episode, it is shown on the news that Superman fought Zod and have people speculating if he broke his arm because of an armbar Zod put him in. Then, as Clark Kent, have him show up to Supergirl's apartment with a cast on his arm. He's just visiting family while he heals, that kinda thing.
Then have the Supergirl vs Amazo fight happen, she's getting absolutely wrecked and he's about to kill her when Superman shows up [in his Superman gear] with a heavy metal cast on his arm. He then beat Amazo with one arm injured. It should essentially be like the All Might vs Noumu fight which I'll link here:

This is your catalyst for Supergirl to start improving and training and seriously crushes her ego. Then you have inner conflict and a goal for her to reach as well as showing Superman to be a fucking badass. A character isn't strong because they defeat others, they are strong because they defeat themselves. Having you ass kicked and getting shown up by an injured man in one day should be motivation for her to defeat her own character flaws.

Let this just be proof that guys don't just watch and enjoy movies like transformers because there was a hot chick...first off transformers had well animated giant fighting robots. that's how they marketed it my whole life and they executed it perfectly. I liked pacific rim just as much without there being a hot chick in it. this crap hurts to watch in every way that you don't even realize they even have a hot chick in it, four. the continuity is so nonexistent the kardashians can't even keep up.

It's why something as basic as Spider-Man holding back a train can reduce my stone heart to tears but a complex and technical fight like Batman vs Superman bores me.

Catlin who is a doctor and biologist, she knows all of the chemical and biological knowledge and will patch up anyone who gets hurt
Joe who knows nothing about science or tech but is a street smart cop with ties into ccpd
Iris gives the team moral support and can get info through the press and influences how the flash is seen by the city
So on so forth these characters have strengths and weeknesses that make them feel like real people
Any character who can seemingly do whatever the plot needs them to do is just a poorly written character

In real life a guy with only a high school education pretended he was a Doctor, Lawyer, Airline pilot luckily he never had to operate or fly a plain and the only time he appeared in court he did not do to well as a lawyer. They made a movie about it called Catch me if you can.

Is a fair point, though what did appear to make the previous one strange is that the trained firefighter was quoted as saying that Superman would have blown it out by now. Even within the context of belittling the rookie, you’d think that maybe the guy whose job it is to tackle fires would have suggested a more appropriate course of action.

Maybe it was cheaper to film on location than make a set or make it more realistic to copy a real place. They had London Eye a giant Ferris wheel in Fantastic Four 2. San Francisco's Golden Gate Bridge in X-Men 3. Paris, France's Effiel Tower in Superman II. Gorgo at Tower of London, King Kong at Empire State building.
Actually they aired this episode out of order. When originally braodcast this episode was pulled a week because of the real life events of the 2015 Paris attacks, so the Live Wire episode was supposed to air after this episode, but instead they switched places. So that's why they don't appear suspicious of Hank yet.

Implementation: have the child’s obsession be creepy in a way that makes you kinda disturbed by him and then have the guardian make it creepier by asking if the kid thinks they’re “pretty.” So instead of setting up a wholesome protective motive for the third act you set yourself up for massive scary criticism. There are some things you simply can’t afford to blunder this badly

Is it because you don’t know it is possible to blow on a small fire to make it bigger *OR* put it out?
