Dash 8 vs. Airbus A340-600 - Get OUT of my WAY - Lufthansa Airbus A340-600 Departure

- Directly after the arrival of an Air Berlin Airbus A330 a small Dash 8 of Air Berlin entered the runway in front of a Lufthansa Airbus A340-600. The Dash 8 was waiting at another intersection and tried to avoid the wake turbulences of the departing Airbus 340-600. This was one of the last A346 departures at Düsseldorf. Soon they will replace the A346 with a smaller A330-300. The size difference between the Dash8 and the A340-600 is impressive and the Bombardie Dash 8 kinda looks like a toy plane in front of the long Airbus 340-600

Vorgestern wollte ich am Flughafen Düsseldorf eine der letzten Starts des Airbus A340-600 der Lufthansa filmen, da er bald durch einen etwas kleineren Airbus A330-300 ersetzt wird. Der Größenunterschied zwischen der Dash8 und dem Lufthansa A340 ist immens und dadurch wirkt die kleine Dash 8 ein bisschen wie ein Spielzeugflugzeug.

personally i like the 500 more.. but the 600 is still one of my fav.. along the 340 range.. its like the last 4 engine single deck ..with permision of the IL-96 wich is still allegedly in production

Just when they thought the runway was clear...Q400 comes out of nowhere to delay your takeoff! The A346 is such a monster compared to that wimpy little twig of an airliner. It's sheer length is jaw dropping from your filming perspective! Super massive like :)

jesus i just walked right by a dash 8 at my work and i thought to my self "this plane looks bigger up close" i can only imagine the size of an a340-600 holy cow especially since the 2 biggest planes ive serviced were and md-80 and an a320
A340-600 is, in my opinion simply the best plane ever made after the 747-8.

Other than Concorde the 340 600 is undeniably the most impressive looking passenger aircraft of all time. What a shame that only a few are still in passenger service, unfortunately wasn't a commercial success for Airbus a bit like the 380.

I flew on both of these planes on a trip to Greece. Both are very cool!! Next week i’ll fly again on the 340-600, so excited!! This is my favorite airplane.
On the Dash 8 you can see the wheels next to you when you look out of the window. On most Airbus/Boeing commercial aircraft you never see the wheels.
Every plane is beautiful because it can carry passengers all over the world.

Amazing footage. I see yet another Air Berlin aircraft (A320??) coming to land behind the Lufthansa :-) Düsseldorf, of course, was one of Air Berlin hubs, but so funny to see them one after the other around the beautiful A340-600.

New hub. It's called Mojave. Too many thirsty engines. It was a bad mistake to have decided to build this airplane, given that 707s and DC-8s were already virtually extinct.
PS. I do like the lines, though.

I've been on a 14 hour flight from Amman to O'Hare in a A340-200 ... the thing was a relic of the past, I'm so glad Royal Jordanian retired them for the new Boeing 787 Dreamliner.
