- Here it is, I know a lot of Tool fans would have been looking for this rare piece of fan made media for a while.
For those without context, back before Tool had all their discography and official music videos uploaded on the internet before 2019, for almost two decades prior many fans of the band made their own music videos sourcing surreal and expressive visual imagery to juxtapose with the feelings the music would conjure.
This video is just one of many that were made a considerable amount of years ago. My estimation for the original creation of this video may lie somewhere back around 2007-2008.
For as long as I have been listening to the band this video had always been a favourite for me, but then somewhere along the way between 2018 and 2019 the original upload disappeared completely.
I searched everywhere I could on the internet to see if there were any re uploads or mentions of the video, all I could find were threads of people in the same position as I was; asking for any links to the original video.
So that was it for me for about five years, the only hope I had was that if I could find where the original visuals and animation came from then I could take that and edit the video from memory myself.
Cut to about three months ago and I finally found where the original animation came from, I couldn't believe it, as soon as I found it I downloaded it and the song and edited the video as well as I could from memory.
For those who were in my position and were always wondering where the original animation came from, its from a Polish stop motion animation short film named "Dim" and directed by Marek Skrobecki.

Tool is my favorite band. And fans' clips was great! But unfortunatly their new produser (as far as I know) striked them all because of copyright. I think, it's not rightly, different creators was doing it for many years when Tool hasn't own clips. So, I think Art must live forever and no matter what. Long live justice! Guys, like this video to RUclips up it and more people can enjoy this clip.

😢😢 this video hurts my heart. When the bird doesn't come back and they disintegrate. I always thought the bird represented a child they lost. Traumatized.
I lost my daughter in 08 and I see your point but I think it represents an abused child leaving and they disintegrate because they don't have him to push around anymore.

I too have wondered where the original post went. I first saw it around 2009. There was a brilliant one for Jambi by a welsh animatior up at the same time and they all got taken down. Thank you for reposting and including the artists details

For those of you wondering, the song is actually about being abused as a child, his parents however claimed that they loved him, in the lyrics, youre pushing me shoving me, still love me still love me, he eventually managed to escape from that life and that is what inspired his music, he uses his music to heal, the bird I believe was symbolizing maynard himself, and this one is honestly just a wild guess, but I'd like to think that when they started rotting after the bird left, indicates there sorrow of knowing they no longer had that control on him.

I'm just as big of a tool fan as any, what I'm expressing is the meaning of the song, I don't even know what TF your talking about. Plus he has a father too, never even typed in the word mother up there, you're the one making this about his mother!

Nah it’s not man, it seems so fitting to be his work though. He was inspired by many visual artists and directors like this especially Brothers Quay. This film name and director is in the description 🤙🏻

Psdt: los videos hechos de fan aun siguen en Facebook milagrosamente, ahi esta este video subido en 2010 (en facebook) y por ultimo recuerdo un video donde estaba todo el disco de aenima pero ponian en cada cancion alguna pelicula stop motion, nose si alguien mas lo vio (el video era de 2012 creo)
