    I’m SO upset that I forgot this version exists. I’ve been listening to it nonstop since I found it again a few days ago 🖤 I always.get choked up when I listen to this version because it reminds me of when I finally got to see them live. I’m an ex-Mormon and that Tool concert made me feel more spiritual than my entire 20 year experience in the church. I hope I can see Tool again one day 🖤

    Thankfully embarking on what may very well be my last pilgrimmage to see these artists next month.. It will be my 12th experience gouging out my own brain and having it placed under my minds own microscope to the dirge that they ring out. It all started for me in 1995 on their AEnima Club tour. I have travelled so many miles for this undertaking and this will be no different, although now it is more crucially needed than ever before. My very soul needs the change that only said experience can provide.

    • @goldehh1069
      @goldehh1069 3 года назад +2

      maybe not enlightenment but self realisation/individualisation where there is a struggle involved in the process of like you said the higher self and lower unconscious the evil persona/shadow which must be recognised and subjugated to one’s higher spiritual will. there is a self but to access this superconscious the ego must yield to the work of the higher self and withstand the stresses and unavoidable discomfiture that the process requires. of course the song has a different meaning for every person but that’s the beauty of interpretation.

      My husband (he just passed), loved loved loved tool. Tool and dmt was how we first started talking. Tool was the foundation and theme of our relationship. Always about growth and reflection, understanding and healing...since hes been gone, it's all I ever listen to. The new album feels almost like hes speaking to me through the songs. Like hes trying to remind me to not give up, keep riding that goddamn spiral. It's been my church, my sanctuary keeping me safe from destroying myself. I've always loved pushit, but this version, it's a whole different perception of the meaning, and it always makes me think of him. We struggled a lot with communication and not letting our toxic molding hurt each other...I had to walk away this past july, for both of us. We loved each other so fucking much but there was a hurdle he couldnt seem to get over. I just wanted him to be happy... November 18th he was murdered in cold blood while playing with his 4 year old son, in a home where he should've been safe, with no motive. So random and senseless, no altercation, just out of nowhere he was stabbed in the chest 3 times in front of his son..
      Nothing makes sense anymore. It's too real that it doesnt feel real at all. Like I'm in a permanent nightmare, my worst nightmare..
      And I have so many regrets...
      Listening to tool grounds me and reminds me that life happens, it hurts and rapes us, it's unfair and cruel, but you gotta push through. He didnt deserve to be taken before he was able to step through his shadow, that chance was ripped from him...but I know he knew that things fell into place the way it was supposed to (unfortunately). Everything leading up to us meeting, getting married, splitting, in retrospect of his death, it's almost like a movie, too "coincidental" to be random. I believe in synchronicity and everything happens for a reason, even if you dont like it or want to accept it. He changed me completely, for the better, and I know I changed him. I'm grateful for the time i was gifted to love him, unconditionally, before his time was up. I like to think hes swirling in an eternal dmt trip. I can see him crawling around looking at every detail, commenting how interesting everything is lol it's where he'd want to be, forever exploring the cosmos. He was a good genuine human being, a wonderful father, and the love of my life. We always said we would find each other again, in one form or another.
      Tool will always be our constant.

    When I was in 10th grade, I was stuck in a verbally abusive relationship with someone who I truly loved and wanted to help. I always had a lot of anger towards her, but I never truly knew why until I finally realized why it stuck with me for so long a few months ago. The abuse has affected me in a lot of different ways. Even now I still have a lot of trust issues, and I'm extremely afraid of being alone.
    Tool was the band that I desperately needed to help me go through the overwhelming emotions that I was dealing with. They helped me find a way to accept what has happened to me, and they helped me find a way to acknowledge it, and gave me hope to move on. This was one of my favorite songs of Ænima, but I never heard this version of the song until last night. It broke me into tears. I love this band so much, and I can't thank them enough for what they've done for me.

    this song is a partner to schism...it deals with relationships & our general inability to accept when they r over and to just let go. Clinging to a failing relationship makes it destructive & the energy that was once poured into love is then redirected in negative ways..."remember i will always love u, as i claw yr fucking throat away" sums it all up...& from schism "the light that fueled the fire then has burned a hole between us, so we never seem to reach an end, crippling our communication"

      You don't know your limits until you do. That was no mistake Jessica. You learned, grew, and got back up on your feet a little stronger, a little wiser. You gotta earn that knowledge, and the price is steep. I hope you are well.

    This song helped me realize I had been abused and that my brain had blocked it out. I'll forever be thankful that Keenan chose to be this vulnerable; for without it, I may not have been able to become who I am now.

    I heard Pushit live the past two shows I went to. Which is one of my favorite top two Tool songs. My husband just showed me this version, and it’s mind blowing. Maynard never ceases to amaze me. If this song has this effect on me through my cell phone speaker, then live would have made me melt. He touches every piece of me. Life without his music wouldn’t be life for me at all. Puscifer, APC, and Tool. They define me.

    I don't believe the word love can quite encompass how I feel about this song. Beautifully done, this song touches upon a place so deep inside me, that most music cannot even graze the surface of. This is one of those Tool songs where you wonder just what they were channeling during its creation. I wonder if they ever sit back in awe of their own work, because it's otherworldly. Hands down, one of my all time favourite tracks, and if i were to create a soundtrack to my life no doubt this would be one of my top picks. Profoundly healing, can't listen to this song without needing to dance or sing, always feeling more centered afterwards. The way this song describes the escalation during conflict with someone you love is so on point, the awareness that you are on the cusp of losing control, trying to hold onto it, wanting to walk away, escape before its too late, knowing it will get ugly as soon as you slip off the edge of reason, and go into full survival mode, giving into the anger,hurt, especially in cases where this isn't a new conflict, not a new fight, but a tired, old, cyclical battle that you recognize as futile, knowing neither of you is going to budge on your stance, or views ( especially when the other person is always "right" and does not have any interest in your side, no desire to compromise, just control and superiority, pure ego, no love in the equation during this exchange,)even if most other aspects of the relationship are good, this can feel so crushing that it negates everything else, and the realization that you are about to re enter this same conflict yet again causes a huge anxiety spike, almost like ptsd, because you know what's about to go down, and you know it's only a matter of time before you lose your shit, and all that balled up hurt, both recycled pain and fresh wounds come exploding out, and you pretty much have no control over what you say or do next, and you know the other party will not back down, and will not let you walk away, and will make you out to be unhinged as soon as you fight back, because flight wasn't an option. No one hurts you like ones you love, we are all guilty of taking the people we love for granted in some way, usually unintentionally, but sometimes very much with an intent to hurt. Hard to stay centered and channel love in those situations, real easy to give your power away and fall into the fear trap. This song really puts it into perspective so masterfully, so fully encompassing that raw, vulnerable energy and emotion, and pouring it into such a hauntingly, beautiful track. The moment I understood what this song was about, I felt it in such a profound, soul healing way, i don't belive I could find the words enough to describe it. Thank you for this song, wow.

    The GREATEST band performing the GREATEST song ever conceived on planet Earth. These 4 guys have to be from other worlds or dimensions. I've been a follower of TOOL since 1996, I was in 6th grade and I knew then that I loved this band after listening to 'OPIATE' the entire album and I'd say the best album they have especially because there's live performances. To sum it up I fucking love this band!! It doesn't get much better than TOOL in my world.

    @rockinwithjesus Man, well done on this... I still remember one of the concerts 20 years ago that I went to when Maynard introduced same song with the spoken question "Has anyone here loved someone so much you just want to kill them?" followed by some massive applause and laughter. I knew which song he was talking about, and you represented this very well. The photos at the end are perfect.
