I agree with Carl T, this is real late seventies disco from Italy, typical with the singers and the violins, before we spoke of Italo Disco. Therefore it is not Italo. This is very good.
You be serious. This is classic disco a la 'Saturday night fever'. This preceded Italo disco. Like I said, Italo disco replaced heavy violins with synthesizers. Do your homework before foaming at the mouth.
They were always questions I could never answer: "What's your favourite band?" "What's your favourite album?" But now I know: Number One Ensemble Gypsylon
Italo disco started in late 70's ,but Italo disco is known overall as electronic music, not italo dance. This is more Italian disco, so Italo Disco was a term to differentiate the 70's style from synth sounding sound.
@mig486 The pure "disco" style 1974-1983, the hi-nrg 1981-1988, the italo1982-1991. Even few very electronized disco-sound in the 70s (Moroder, Space, Cerrone), still not yet italo (as style). So, please find just one italo-example in 1981, & let me know
So, why you looking for on RUclips ("stupid internet"), if you are "noble old-fashion", stay home and listen (analog audio) your scratched vinyls collection. And buy 5000 vinyl singles, each 30 euros, if you millionaire // "Italo" is one INTERNATIONAL style, from Spain to Japan, but only after 82. The "Italo" word was, first time, actually used by germans in 83
Actually I think Italo appears in 78 , but that's when disco was becoming somewhat electronic, but still 70's disco style. Why are some people so against electronic Italo sound as having no soul?
@aspiceno Nah this is italo disco. Italo without disco is the computer side of it. Past 1984. Also this has synths! Those pads and the staccato keys/strings are.
I've just created a video response which is directed to a user (aspiceno) in here who claims that this record doesn't represent the genre of Italo Disco; unfortunately the video is in Italian. The first part provides examples of what IS NOT Italo Disco while the second part covers classic Italo Disco tracks. Mr Luck by Number One Ensemble retains all the characteristics of the original Italo Disco tunes of that period, therefore has been included in this section as well.
sard house ...you're so wrong..after Soul came Disoc in the early 70s..ok, than came Italo in the late 70s..the first one's we ok...but after that Disco became too Commercial, because of to much cheap Computer italo traxx without any soiul in it.
this is not Italo-disco, It is classic DISCO, i am really hurt to call this master peace Italo-disco.

This song is loaded with violins, as in 70's disco.
