      Great demo, one of the only uses of 3rd fret harmonics ive seen done, and it was done well. These vids are starting to convince me into switching from guitar to bass

      @@SevanStick Of course! First, he did a review of the Dingwall NG3 (fun fact: Nathan is an endorsed artist with Dingwall). Secondly, he showcased a custom Mayones Jabba V-Fret in a four string bass shootout. His third use of a fan fret bass was his use of the Sandberg Boden Bass in some of his gear demos. His fourth use is the Spector NS Dimension which he did a full review on. Finally, he is reviewing this Cort A5 bass! Hope this helps.
      Edit: He’s also used a custom Equilibrium fan fretted bass and the Mayones Viking V-Fret 4 in his videos “Drum and Bass Jam with Charlie Engen” and “40 Bass Techniques in One Solo”

    I had the chance to play one of the basses one time. I was blown away, such a great feel and tone. First multiscale instrument I had ever played. Might not have sounded as good at Nate, but who does? Another great demo sir!

    I bought this bass after having the toughest time getting the Ibanez Cerro. The Cerro order I made got pushed back for months until the store I bought it from canceled. I ended up buying this one which was the last one that Guitar Center had in stock. I DO NOT REGRET IT ONE BIT. I’d never heard of Cort nor played a multi scale bass before. It is absolutely amazing. The tone, the build quality, it came with a hard case. I absolutely love this bass.

    if it's worth doing, it's worth overdoing: Cort should go all the way and make a 6 string. And I would get one if I wouldn't already have that in my custom AV 6 string...

    Did some Checking and the Cort A5 beyond comes standard WITH a hardshell case!! now that's what more companies should be doing when you spend $ 1000 or more on a Bass or guitar it should come with a hardshell case. That's my biggest complaint about these companies is that when you spend that kind of money and they ship it to you in a cardboard box not the experience I want.

    15mm? Not too far away from a Fender VI at that point. I wonder if it would be feasible to swap out the stock saddles for Hipshot Kickass adjustable ones to allow for wider string spacing.

    Why do companies keep making "multiscale" instruments and not really adding extra length to the B? This is better than the Ibanez fanned fret offering, but still...... an extra half inch is a nonstarter. Go for one of the brands with a full 37" scale.

      🤦🏻‍♂️ chop chop. Make one then.

    • @57precision
      @57precision 3 года назад

      Right? I mean what is even the point if you're not gonna go whole hog? Maybe it's to make the transition more comfortable but anyone who does their research will know it only takes a little while to get used to an extreme fan of a Dingwall. And it couldn't be to make chording up the neck easier, because that's also not why you buy a fanned fret.

    • @rockereivanivan
      @rockereivanivan 3 года назад +5

      Because getting chords on a dinwall it's difficult whereas with this model which is targeted to a wider audience than your average metal bass player, it's easier and makes the B string tighter, not super tighter but it's still an improvement

    Модель 2021 года - красивый яркий топ по сравнению с такой же моделью предыдущих годов, но всё же Cort начал экономить на ручках потенциометров - теперь обычные железные крутилки вместо Hip-shot (4.20 минута видео).

    So sick of companies hopping on the multiscale train but unwilling to commit to the 37” side. That’s literally what makes the Dingwall sound so good, a 34-35 fan is pointless.

    • @sjeffy5137
      @sjeffy5137 Год назад +1

      Something I do like about some of 35-36” scale basses is that some of them use a short scale length for the G string, which I think makes it a lot more rounded and present.

    • @Vykk_Draygo
      @Vykk_Draygo Год назад +1

      34"-35.5"
      The electronics are probably even more important to the Dingwall sounds than the multiscale, but not everyone wants a gigantic beast of a bass while still gaining some of the same benefits (if not at the same level).

    A little neck dive is better than a single cutaway. It makes an otherwise beautiful instrument look like Quasimodo. This complaint aside, Cort has been releasing some really nice basses lately.
