I'm glad you and your husband can take turns loving on Olive. What a big life bump for you all. It was surprising to learn that cross stitch noises bother her, with her sensitive dog hearing, when to me everything is rhythmic and soothing. I just want to hug her. My heart is with each of you. I got something like a contact high when you said you were doing fifteen new starts, all at once. What a treat!
It was really fun doing all those starts. I had to be prepared. The only better prep I could have done is mark where the first stitch went. I might do it again next year. Our Olive is very sensitive to sounds. I will give her a hug from you. Thank you for the kind words. Fingers crossed she improves. Supposedly dogs can recover well from strokes. However with her kidney issues it is a potential risk going forward. We will continue to love her for all the days left that she gives us.
It was a fun way to do 12 x 12. And now I am working on them throughout the year. Thank you for the hugs to Olive. She is slowly improving. We are hopeful although we do realize that she is an older gal.
Oh my gosh Shelia! Congratulations on 15 new starts! I hope Olive recovers soon. May your travels across the country go well and you sell your house super, super fast. The difference between the old and new floss is also giving me grief. I need two skeins of 815 and I have two but one is older and one is new and there is too much difference between them. I have not started my 2025 HAED SAL because of that reason and I will just have to wait until I get some new ones that match. I wish you and your husband all the best for a Happy New Year.
Thank you Charlene. Yes, dye lots can be an issue at times. I am so frugal I want to use all floss I find, no matter how outdated. It was very fun doing all the new starts. Thanks for the kind words. I hope you and your family have a wonderful 2025.
15 starts is awesome!! I had several new ones too! I didn’t make it to 60 as was my plan but I was close! Too many life bumps over here too! All the best for Olive! Sounds like she’s living out her final days as best she can!
Yes, you certainly did. It is all just goals and fun we set for ourselves. Hopefully she is doing just that, we are trying our best to make life as good as it can be. Thank you. Happy New Year Darlene. Hopefully 2025 will be filled with happy memories.
Hi Sheila! 15 new starts??! Holy moly! You certainly got a lot of stitching in. I am sitting on the fence about doing the temperature piece. The specialty stitches intrigue me. Steampunk portal is looking great. I like the PEI sand fabric for that Santa piece! I’m sorry to hear about your sweet pup Olive 💗 Happy New Year 🥳
Thank you so much Geri. I know 15 starts was pretty crazy indeed, but also a whole lot of fun. You will see the specialty stitch temperature piece grow throughout the year and then if still interested you could get it for next year. Steampunk Portal is fun so far, nice mix of confetti and block stitching. Happy New Year to you too. Enjoy!
Thank you Rosa. Good news is that dogs can recover well from strokes and she is better today than she was yesterday. We are hopeful, or cautiously optimistic. We know that we are mostly supplying palliative care to our dear sweet girl. Happy New Year to you too. I hope that it is a great stitchy year for all of us!
Prayers for your fur baby Olive 🐾🐾 I hope she starts coming around and starts getting her strength back and feel well. I hope you sell your house fast so you can get back home quickly because there is no place like home. I have a really bad infection in my left leg. The public health nurse dresses it everyday. It was bad. It, the infection had eaten a hole in my leg so it had somewhere to go. Until next time ☃️😊
Oh no. I am so sorry to hear about your leg. Hopefully the infection is stopped and you start to heal. Thank you for the kind thoughts for our fur baby. Fingers crossed. The vet says that some dogs can recover well from a stroke. We shall see. We are cautiously optimistic, but know that some day we will have to let go.
Not sure about going far south. We typically go through Ottawa and then North. Ontario is such a huge province. We haven't finalized our plans yet so who knows. Have a happy new year Karen.
