I've been involved in youth clubs and youth achievement academia since 2003... youth clubs in large communities where all abolished by 2010, with exception of those funded by different programmes (which all eventually stopped funding by 2015) .. look up your LOCAL demolished community centres circa 2008 onwards and tell me what's left aside from new build flats.?!

Plenty of kids go which is great and it gives a lot of people somewhere safe to go from off the streets , but sadly it’s also seen as uncool for a lot of people to go :( like people I know get the piss taken out of them for going. I think they’re a brilliant idea but I know for a fact none of my mates, and the majority of people I know would go because it’s seen as such an uncool thing to do to like go somewhere which is meant to help you. I didn’t mean to sound ‘out of touch’ it’s just my personal experience as a teenager in an area which has been decimated by austerity
