ellie downie not only trained it, but she also competed this vault at the 2019 world championships. also, vanessa zamarripa’s vault that was shown here is a lopez… melnikova performed her cheng much better in the qualifications at the tokyo olympics when compared to her event finals vault in this video

Watching this, it’s pretty obvious that only two athletes have ever consistently performed the Cheng cleanly- Rebecca Andrade and Simone Biles. Most others- including it’s originator Cheng Fei herself- were either super inconsistent or just ridiculously messy. No one will ever top Maria Paseka though. How her Cheng didn’t cause constant massive knee injuries is a mystery.
