Traffic were an English rock band who formed in 1967. They began as a psychedelic rock group & used keyboards, like the Mellotron & harpsichord, sitar, & various reed instruments. Traffic's singer, keyboardist & guitarist Steve Winwood was the lead singer for the Spencer Davis Group when he was only 14 & he was also in Blind Faith. Some of Traffic's early hits were "Paper Sun", "Hole In My Shoe", "Here We Go Round The Mulberry Bush", "Dear Mr. Fantasy", "Feelin' Alright" etc.

Hard to believe he was a better pianist/organist . A child prodigy at 15 he was in Spencer’s Davis group. He went on to have another stint in a legendary band … Blind Faith. His other credits include all the greats. I was lucky to see him several times over the many years…

Stevie Winwood - wow!! Part of The Spencer Davies Group aged 14, went on to Traffic. While still a menber of Traffic played organ in Voodoo Chile at Hendrix's request, formed Blind Faith with Clapton and Baker then had a successful solo career. Amazing all round musician and my second favourite uk vocalist.

Fun fact: Steve Winwood admitted in later interviews he was tripping extremely hard on LSD at the time of this live performance and having a difficult time discerning what was reality. He still sounded incredible. Look at his pupils and the strange blank look on his face. What a genius!

    Hell, yeah.
From Blind Faith, 'Presence of the Lord', 'Pearly Queen', a fave of mine, esp. Clapton's Rainbow Concert version.
