  • Genoa has a huge commercial port.
Genoa, mother Genoa a16. the birthplace of Christopher Columbus, who died in the 19th century.
Genoa essentially consists of the old town and the new town. The old town is characterized by narrow streets (caruggi), old churches and mansions (palazzo). The new city is not ultra-modern either. Its most significant street is Via Garibaldi.
    I liked it
The medieval Old Town is interesting, mostly well-preserved and surprisingly large, the old buildings (e.g. palazzos) are beautiful
Strolling aimlessly in cozy side streets (caruggi)
You can drink delicious coffee (espresso).
Not as many tourists as in many cool Italian cities
Despite its northern Italian location, there are many palm trees
The sea air, breezes, the excitement of the sea port
Getting to know the eventful historical past
    Super seafood & fish restaurants
At first impression, Genoa may seem ugly, but after visiting it a little more thoroughly, the opinion usually improves, it is a city that has lived through better times, the beauties of which can be discovered with some patience
See the birthplace of Columbus and Europe's oldest lighthouse, the Lanterna
The Boccadasse district with a village character (it used to be a fishing village)
