The old VICE I used to know would have approached this subject unbiased. Spending the first half of the video on one side of the argument, the second on the other.

Here's an idea for you: The CDC and Fauchi aren't "all-knowing" (FYI - no one is) but they probably know more about COVID-19 and the pandemic than whoever you're listening to.

Unfortunately you're right in that many from the political right have replaced logic and science with the emotions of their base, and have been presenting it as fact for as long as the pandemic has been going on. If you're talking about information from the scientific establishment, then that's just not true and reflects a poor understanding of the scientific process and what misinformation actually is.

The interesting question not asked and never answered is "Why - why are people turning away from mainstream and enjoying podcasters instead?" Rogan gave a short answer as a video response from his phone. Interestingly, this video didn't address any of the points he made, nor did it even mention his response. Nice!

adding to what Regis Philbin *THE LEGEND*said mainstream media has been under attack from some of these podcasters and politicians.
The biggest shift in my opinion which isn't the first time it has been mentioned, was caused by Big news corps sucking up local tv and radio stations which led to some shutting down others ruined by ignoring local news for mainstream news.
The other is what the 1 lady mentioned, kinda like music nowadays we don't go to the radio or CDs for music we use streaming services. Its intentional to listen to a podcast as you can listen to it anytime while we passively watch and listen to news. Podcasts episodes can run hours while the news feels rushed to squeeze a lot in 30mins while playing lots of annoying ads.

I don’t recall joe ever demanding that people take a specific medication/medicine to combat covid. He told us what he did and recommended very general ways to combat the covid. Mainstream media talks about only 1 solution or end to covid.

@@DCookStaVideo Thanks for the reply. It's 2022. There are still scores of people in this country who believe that the 2020 presidential election was stolen. There are no facts of any kind that support the notion that several battleground states coordinated an effort to ensure that Biden won. Mouthpieces on the Right deliberately spread misinformation about voter fraud which lead to sweeping election reform laws which make it hard for early/absentee voting to happen. The spread of misinformation tends from sources that people trust tends to cause panic and was the sole reason for the January 6th Capitol riots. Society has no place for the deliberate spread of misinformation regardless of who says it. From a legal standpoint, people and organizations have been sued for spreading misinformation and maybe more lawsuits need to happen because allowing people to create their own narratives which could create chaos down the line is not how we should use our freedom of speech. Just my opinion.

I find that he can be misguided at times, but and let's be honest, everyone of us is misguided in some aspect of the world.
