Tom Woodward: You Will Win In The End (Official Music Video)

First music video from my upcoming album, "Revolving Doors", due August 2024.
I walked 1200 kms just to make this five minute video! Just kidding, I did it to break a lifelong addiction to alcohol, but I also got lots of footage to pick through, so double bonus. The song is called "You Will Win In The End," but don't worry, it's not a self help song. If anything, it's the stream of consciousness meanderings of a depressive mind trying to find meaning and purpose in a world that often feels painfully elusive. However, don't let that get you down. I tried not be too specific or personal in these lyrics, because the goal, as always, is to create art that bridges intimate divides and communicates beyond the constraints of my own subjective experience. For somebody else to be able to take ownership of a lyric or a melody and feel that it speaks both to them and from them is the ultimate ambition, for me as a songwriter, anyway. It can feel like a lonely world sometimes, but other people's art has often been the liferope tethering me to humanity and all its wonders. I love art. I love music. I love songs. It's a real blessing to be a part of this mess. I hope you enjoy the video, and for anybody who is interested, I will be uploading the video series from which the footage was compiled to a patreon over the next little while (it was formerly up on Duke The Dirtbag youtube, but it felt a little too personal and vulnerable-making for me to just have it out there, kinda like opening your diary up for public scrutiny. People can at least pay for that kind of emotional peepshow!). Anyway, I'm really looking forward to releasing this entire album in August. Stay tuned.
