  • Watch as multiple fighters, tankers, and bombers all participating in Red Flag 12-3, return to Nellis AFB after the morning sortie. I had my scanner up to my camera so hopefully you guys can hear how busy it was and all the different call signs. This video gives you a general idea of how busy it can get during the recoveries, you see multiple aircraft on final, in the break, opposing base turns with another aircraft on base. I was also told not to Film the B-2's tail end, which is why it stops suddenly in the video.

So cool. I could watch this stuff all day, everyday. What blows my mind is how those F-15's land at such a high AoA and deploy their air brake and then just stay up on their rear wheels for a looooooooooooong time and the engine nozzles are only a few inches off the asphalt and they never scrape the ground! You can see the horizontal stabs continuously adjusting to keep it in that position for as long as possible. Some of the F-16s do it too. You'll see some planes drop the nose almost immediately after the rears touch down which I think is safer and probably better on the front gear suspension because the other way around is a heavier drop. Either way, those F-15 landing and keeping the nose up for so long on the runway is really cool to watch.

Loved the video. They sure paint the planes different then they used to. Caught the backdrop of the Thunderbird Hanger in some of the footage. I used to drive up and down that flight line all the time.

I saw two f-22 flying over one day, and that was one of the coolest things I have ever scene. And one of the most expensive.

The F-22 is the hottest thing on two wings, but it doesn't get to me like the F-15, F-16 and F/A-18. Classic jets.

When I was stationed there I don't recall anybody filming in that area. It was rare for us to even be able to cross the runways.

Do you have to have some sort of media pass to get on base?
Is there a screening process, or is it military only still?
    Sweet footage!

Great video sir! Why do the aggressors mainly keep their nose gear up for so long? It looks cool. Are the prop planes small radar planes?
