Hi Joe - it's Big Rodders in Ireland. To the firewood "expert" that stated you don't understand the business i would repeat my comment made in a previous video. Unlike most RUclipsrs doing firewood, Joe's main income source is firewood sales so he has had to learn how to maximise profits, or as bankers say - sweat his assets, if he wants to put beans on the table.

Guys' I am following you both ~ and from my view I'd like the Retail with higher margins better, however my best opportunity to keep cashflow is with a Grocery store (a smaller sized bundle at a wholesale price). I too am exploring new ways to market and sell bundles. I am learning the best processes and trying them out. I am not going to invest/work this hard to sell "Cheap Wood" ALL the cutting, sawing rounds, moving, splitting, stacking, sorting, packaging etc. IN the end, I am learning to be as productive as I can with the remaining energy in my body after walking 18,000 steps at my job. Elaine from Canada here, always interested to hear your thought processes, (not that you ever have to explain or justify your decisions) because you’re sharing and teaching viewpoints that are obviously working for YOUR BUSINESS. Thanks for the great video and minding which way the sun angle is best😃
Just spent a couple of hours today sifting through a rubbish pile like yours , picked up 800 L of kindling and 400L of split wood ( tossed into IBC's plastic tub ) So a good $150 NZD of wood which would have been wasted . I had a firewood operator work for 6 months without cleaning up a thing on my property , so in the process of reclaiming the land , there must be 20 -30 tons of this , and another 20 tons at a guess of saw dust . all going into a burning heap once I recover the things worth saving .
Love the video Joe! Thanks to you my entire bundling setup is the same as yours. I love the Twister and also got the wrap from your recommended source. It is excellent and they now send me promotions to get 10-20% off. Had a killer Memorial Day weekend as far as bundle sales. Thanks again for all the info you give us! Ben

A lot of the firewood bundles around my area (OKC Metro) are made by the tree services. And its just labeled mixed woods. Its also .60-.75 cu ft. For the same price as 1 cu ft. Sometimes a little more. Almost no good hardwoods in any of them.
Hello Joe, been very busy and catching up on some videos! Great informative video once again. So glad I purposely did not sell all my firewood last year and am turning them into more bundle production.
Hi Joe, as always you talk words of wisdom! Been a while, but have once again enjoyed your very laid-back presentation! Think the ‘Twister’ is brilliant…much better than the hand-wound variety! Keep up the good work 😎 Len (Devon 🇬🇧)
So I started selling bundles last Saturday (10 days ago or so) I’ve sold 91 bundles total just out of my roadside stand. So far so good with the honor system. Really would like a bundler but wanna pay for it all in cash, maybe after this season I will be able to afford one. Love your videos keep up the good work
Good video Joe…u have been a life saver with your links…Melissa Nagy made my bundle labels and Candi at twister has already delivered my bundler…I own a tree service and firewood and bundles is actually just a hobby for me…I have no wood shortage lol…

It would be a nice jesture to put a few sticks of kindling wood in every bundle. Its like peanuts in a bar, give something away that does not cost much money.

if you arent adding your own labels you could sell it as private label for the companies that resell. ask them for label design and add theirs. so it looks like they made the firewood. many companies like stuff like that and you could charge more for it.
With the variety of bundling and bagging machines out there now. It has flooded the market with folks trying to sell bundles in my area. Most stores have no loyalty or care about quality of bundles so the first Joe that offers theirs at a better price gets the shelf space. Should seller push for a contract or non-compete type waiver to keep their locations locked down???
Hi Joe, great video again. Just a thought… as we know bundles can make at least 2x the profit as a facecord. If you paid a student to make bundles and in the end, after paying the student, you made 50% more then selling a facecord, would it not be worth it?
When do you think you are going to get an employee? It seems if you just had some one bundling and stacking and you just kept splitting and delivering lumber you could ramp up a lot. I love how you keep building and growing. Do you think you can use the old Site for drying of the less valuable woods that you can use for camp grounds? or is the moving things back and forward not worth it?
Here in Tulsa Ok we sell wood by the rick. Most people want wood 18 inches long so a rick is 4 foot tall 8 feet long and 18 inches wide. And that is going for 100 bucks

We're in 4 beer distributors and 1 convenience store (right down the road from a huge camp ground) and I thought for sure after Memorial Day weekend, (first nice weekend we've had since the snow melted) they'd all be calling to refill the shelves and 1 beer distributor sold 2 bags of fire wood and 2 bags of kindling and zero sold at all the other places. Just to get in the door these places are making 38% profit on each bag, our bags are anywhere from 3-5 dollars more than I see advertised locally but the 5 dollar wrapped bundles are about 6 sticks of wood and the bundles that are closer to our price you might get about 8 pieces and all look like crap.
