    The reason the waitress change bit works for me because part of her character is being easily forgettable. So Frank could easily have just forgot.

    The Frank banging the waitress detail worked for me because Frank was simply trying to get laid when he slept with the waitress, he was trying to show off to the gang, not hurt Charlie. That makes it reasonable for him to have no idea what the whole situation is in the gang gives back.

    Alcoholism is a gnarly, relentless plight. The fact that i'm alive and sober and happy is unreal. As a young artist /musician i thought i gave myself a license to be that wild, crazy extreme partier but I came to find out much later i was duped..it was never me making decisions and I never had control..When one drop of alcohol goes into my system it sets off a chain reaction( technically called a craving) and then my body just wants more and more and more..endless. Who ever may read this, if ur alcoholic or drug addicted, If ur tired of suffering, reach out and go to the nearest help,(hospital, rehab, AA meeting) get a sponsor and take the simple suggestions..just start there......if I can over come such a grave sickness..you can too.

    So I am majoring in psychology and we had to learn all about addiction and Charlie is right an addiction is defined when your body believes it needs that unhealthy substance to live so you would be unable to stop drinking.
    Also when Glenn talks about needing more to make it fun again that’s because his body gained a tolerance for it so he needed more.

    I got thrown in the drunk tank once (it was the day of my 18th birthday), and they threw this, like, methhead biker in there with me. And he was telling me about how he couldn't bend his wrists back beyond straight because he had titanium rods in his wrists like Wolverine or something. It was a small cell too. Like maybe 8 ft x 8 ft.
    It was literally like something out of It's Always Sunny.
    And they had a payphone in the cell, but you could just call anyone. Two people got thrown in there and then they made calls and were bailed out immediately. And stupid me, I didn't know you could just call anyone, so I never even tried it. But after the biker dude called someone and got let out in like ten minutes, I called my dad and was like, "hey, could you come get me?"
    I rotted in there for hours not knowing I could just pick up the phone that's right there and get someone to bail me out. Luckily I knew my dad's number. I stopped remembering numbers a long time ago.

      They don't have any backwoods people from West Virginia, or hayseeds from the Midwest, or trailer trash from Arkansas on this podcast. For every story they told, there are lots of poor and/or undereducated whites like those I mentioned who got more punishment than they deserved.
      All people like Charlie Day choose to focus on are people like him who have money and connections. He doesn't know what he's talking about and isn't about to go trying to learn.

      @@RicardoAGuitar Dude what are you even talking about?
      Do you actually think the podcast would have been better if they literally brought on "backwoods people" from West Virginia? Maybe some "trailer trash" from Arkansas?
      No shit other people have it different ways. That's the thing people want to hear- what the casts' life and experiences have been. I mean what do you want them to do?

      @@keksandwich The point is that Charlie Day asserts white privilege as some sort of no-shit, everyone-knows-its-true type of phenomenon. Well, I mentioned those three types of white subgroups that would NOT breeze through the system the way Charlie Day did if they committed the same offense.
      Wealth and connections give one privilege, not skin color.

    • @keksandwich
      @keksandwich 2 года назад +2

      @@RicardoAGuitar Is that really a focal point of this comedy podcast though? Do you want to listen to them actually discuss privilege and all of the separate subgroups? I mean sure there is wealth based privilege. Race based privilege is also very much a thing too. There is privilege that attractive people are subject to as well. The three subgroups you mentioned could all fall under the same category- poor/uneducated whites. Whether they're from Arkansas, Virginia or Alabama is sort of irrelevant.

      Just saying, wealth and connections are definitely not the only form of discriminatory privilege in society.
      Charlie also never asserted any of what you said. He made a joke lol

    On one of my community service days, I was painting a bathroom in a dorm for at risk youth girls. I pulled a Charlie and acted like I forgot to open the window when I was painting to get a buzz. It was a Saturday morning in the summer, and I was in my mid-teens .... how was that punishment with girls my age walking around in there underwear. JS ..... lol

    When I drank more, I was a social binge drinker. Not a fan of beer/bloating, I liked the effects, not the taste. Normally started off with a double or triple shot.

      Charlie Has Cancer. Dennis goes to the coffee shop to try and convince the waitress to sleep with Charlie but she flirts with him instead. Then it cuts to the next morning and Dennis informs Mac he had sex with her. Easy to miss/forget as it's all off screen.
      Then later he goes on a date with her in Mac Bangs Dennis' Mom, but it's just to manipulate Charlie. And the fact they had sex back in the first season is mentioned/confirmed in Mac's Banging the Waitress, when she finds out Dennis filmed it and asks for Mac's help to get hold of and destroy the tape.

      It's really weird to me because there is no significant brain growth between 18 -21 your brain doesn't finish until around 25. The whole "age requirement" is just so arbitrary.

    • @dHolbach77
      @dHolbach77 2 года назад

      @@ingridsoleil Brain development is very complex and basically doesn't stop until your late 20's. Any substance that is detrimental to brain development/cognitive function can and will permanently alter brain development if used too much. That's one reason why alcohol abuse is particularly harmful to brain/cognitive development before age 30 (of course it always is, but a teen/20's brain is much more susceptible to damage).
      Also, of course, there are many other reasons to keep the drinking age at 21, mostly being the immense societal damage that happens when young/immature people mix with alcohol. Legal teen drinking is enormously bad for society, let alone individual people. 21 is a good legal limit, but if anything raising the age to 25 would be much better for society. And as for "freedom" to drink, well, if drinking is that important to you your life is pretty impoverished. I've drank modestly for over 20 years; but if you told me I never could again because of the social damage it does I'd just shrug. No big loss. I would feel the same if I was 17 (first drink age) or 21. It's just not that important; but the pain it causes, especially to innocent bystanders (family members/friends of alcoholics, victims of alcohol fueled violence, drunk driving victims, the money it cost society in terms of lost work and health costs, etc) is.
