This really is the heart of the differences between the dispensational and covenantal systems. Great job

I'm so glad he is a dispensationalist. He makes such great points advocating this position. I like how he also represents the other views fairly and doesn't resort to name calling. Well done!

Excellent. A very clear clarification of how the OT should be interpreted. Thank you.

These videos have been extremely helpful. There is a noticeable lack of careful teaching on these subjects on line. Thank you Sir.

Thanks for this video! This is what the church needs to hear to correct so much. I find it ironic that the same folks that promote NT priority would also tell you they have the most continuity in their view of the Biblical narrative. Just the opposite IMO.

Perhaps a test of this concept - as it applies to the “progress” of revelation is to analyze any distinctions that occur in the parallel passages as found in particular OT texts? E.g. 2 Samuel 22 with Psalm 18; Exodus 20 with Deuteronomy 5; the conversation of Rabshekah - the Hezekiah story from 3 different texts (prophet, prophet and writing). Etc.

Great stuff. I would adjust the terms to "discourse priority" to refer to the meaning in THAT BOOK first.

Good word. Kindly spoken. IS what the angel revealed to Joseph or Mary true because it was written in Matthew or Luke? Or is it true because the proper understanding of Isaiah’s prophecies to his original audience (and subsequently to the nation - even in division and dispersion) is true? Promises to Abraham and David?

The problem is with this hermeneutical approach is you wouldn’t know the majority of the messianic prophecies that came to pass if you stick with the OT text that is veiled. Number 21, Zechariah 4,12 & 14. Isaiah 53 and many others Malachi 1:11 & Amos 9:15 you cannot understand without the NT

I enjoyed your book "Dispensationalism: Essential Beliefs and Common Myths" I still do not agree with Dispensationalism however it is much more clear to me as to why we have different conclusions. Thanks.

In the Old Testament, God promised _physical land_ to the Hebrew people, going so far as to specify the boundary lines of the future restored nation of Israel, and the Hebrew people were even commanded by God to conquer and claim the physical land that He promised to them in the unconditional covenants. God quite clearly meant for these land promises to be fulfilled with physical land. What makes covenantalists and amillennialists think the Church is meant to spiritually fulfill those land promises? What would a "spiritual" fulfillment of those promises even look like? How does that work? The Church doesn't possess land in the way a country does; the Church isn't a geopolitical entity.
