    Brain drain is real.
    Cities like Kota are such a big example of the dark truth of the education industry. Education has become a business, not a passionate thing over here in India. It used to be like the fact that the intelligent and the determinant succeeded, now every run-of-a-mill dumb person wants to become a Doctor. And that's where Kota thrives from.
    As someone who studied in Kota, I can confidently say that the atmosphere in Kota is like a black-and-white movie, which is depicted well in Kota Factory.
    When I joined Allen for the first time, I was given almost the same demotivational speech they gave to the new students in the series. It took me 5 years to clear that depressional trauma. When I received the news of my passing of my final year exams, that was when I felt the happiest that I have ever been in my life.
    And I am just fed up with the PG competition over here too. If you have to study even harder, and still work your ass off to get a seat, why not just study for USMLE or other FMGE exams instead?
    That's the mentality of some of us, and I am glad that there are only some of us that think this way. Otherwise, it would be another hell of a competition there too.
    Anyways, a nice video as always, Dr. Manik! Your channel has always been an inspiration to me to write my own story.

    One point you didn't mention is even after getting admitted in government medical college you have to sign a personal bond with the state bond can range from 20 lacs to 50 lacs if you are not willing to work with the government ...so many Indian doctors have limited choice to go abroad because of those bonds ..

  • @musednoir
    @musednoir 24 дня назад +14

    Sir, I am not a doctor, nor an aspirant of the same. I am in a completely different trajectory, but this is still heavily relatable. Most of Indian systems and intuitional procedure have become like a snail leaching off of the students until they bleed them dry. Due to this people go abroad so that they get leached off when at least getting paid good.

    You are right about the hurdles doctors face in India, but sorry to burst your bubble, I am from one of India's leading medical colleges (in Delhi), and almost all of my batches toppers are staying back. You fail to understand that academic advancement and more money are not motivating factors for everyone. A lot of them stayed back for family and friends. US might be better in a lot of ways, but it's high time you stop portraying it as a magical land where all problems disappear. It just has a different set of problems and it's okay to choose what "drain" you want to live in.

      In Delhi I've heard things are way nicer

    I can guarantee CA having no reservation is what made CA a good course and engineering and medical institutions should look how ICAI keeps cost at 20000/- and also provides library with free meals in each district of India (having multiple libraries in Laxmi Nagar, highly dense area) so,engineers and doctors are creators of economy and CA are facilitators.
    It’s quite disheartening the engine of healthy economy is in drain because of reservations……mind you there is no reservation in CA because CAs of politicians then will leak your financial info so this keeps CA protected from reservation.

    A good bulk of doctors are leaving India every year and looking at the conditions of doctors in India, this number is only going to increase.
    But USA is no more the top choice for doctors wanting to settle abroad. There are European countries as well as Middle Eastern countries which are giving great opportunities to doctors from India. Many are also going to certain African countries. The choices are a lot at this point, specially considering the fact that MD/MS/DNB are being recognized by majority countries abroad. So if someone wants to leave, USA is no more the best option, according to me.

    Toxic and unsupportive working environment , overtly streched duty hours many of which comprises of mundane activities, and many institutes in India is just incapable to expose the post graduate students to latest skillset and interventions to their concerned domain, these are mostly the reasons due to which almost 1200 pg residents are compelled to drop out from pg course inspite of hefty seat leaving bond amount. If there were no seat leaving bond amount, I can say that more than 50% of pg residents wd hv left from the course. These r some snapshots of pathetic state of affairs of doctors in India. Lastly work life balance is a cruel joke 😂😂 in India.
