Bella clamant, hinc et inde, pugna gravis oritur
Caedes nulla peior fuit, Campo nec in Martio.
Wars call, and terrible battle arises everywhere,
Not even in the field of Mars there was ever worse violence.
The verses are taken from a poem written by a literate soldier named Angelbert, to conmemorate the Battle of Fontenoy (841 AD)
As said battle took place between brothers, it might be an intentional echo to the wars of Primarch against Primarch.
Zidiz Or referring to the Schism of Mars, literally.
I can’t thank you enough for the translation
Yeah, I'm really glad that we have some literate viewers here
Would anyone have more information about this Angelbert fellow, please?
so this is where bruva alfabusa get his tracks
most them though obviously not the custodes theme (trying to find it)
+Evan Michael Sutka Custodes theme is "Awaken" from Jojo's Bizarre Adventure.
u mean the fabulous custodies? ost?
u mean the fabulous custodies? ost?
The second season of Jojo's bizzare adventure. It's the theme of those 3 Custode- er... ancient immortal guys.
"The difference between Gods and Daemons largely depends upon where one is standing at the time."
-- Lorgar
You also have take into account if one is a grotesque mass of flesh or will it turn you into one
I'm pretty sure the ones with spikes that are trying to eat your face off and use your soul as their toilet paper are the demons
Actually:
-- Argel Tal, when speaking about how it feels like to be Possessed. Lorgar liked the sentence and jotted it down, hence it's erroneously attributed to him.
No man, it's really who is more spiky
@@templarhelmet3844 Almost correct. They eat the soul and use the face as toilet paper.
I'm picturing the Dies Irae in the distance slowly marching into attack range.
Legio Mortis road trip tunes are always the best.
I can hear Decius and Fyador arguing
if i ever need ominous chanting i know where to look
=][= [INQUISITORIAL GROANING] =][=
I can imagine this is the song that plays inside a loyalist astarte's mind whenever he witnesses heretical acts being done
This song makes me feel like I'm an inquisitor, citing the Book of Judgment before carrying out a sentence.
Julius The Illustrious the inquisitors were never the plan of the emperor they just came in and every one sorta was fine with it
@@sarahshaw7315 Heh. If his holy majesty were to wake up again, I'd lose my job
You have just broke 2 laws in the span of this on comment.
Aren't the Inquisition and the Adeptus Arbites separate entities?
According to 567 passages of the book of judgement you just broke 247 laws in the span of those 18 words.
Just the right backing track for the next time I PURGE HERETICS
[Inquisitorial Groan]
(Inquisitorial grumbling)
Be quiet, Dominique!
But I need my sand paper cigerets
+CommanderWookiecop BE QUIET,DOMINIQUE!
Btw, what do you want on your hot dog?
Anyone come here from TTS or from 40K theories?
Almost everyone, I guess.
Narsilion098 no not many of us mostly people who actually played the game but now .... it’s for nostalgia cus GOG galaxy has updated and now u can’t play on most systems
Tts
Aye.

When the Titans start walking.
Deserves so many more views.
+Compert123 It's Magnus fault. Everthing is Magnus fault. Magnus the Bookworm XD.
+The Pandora Guy actually its fault of Erebus a.k.a the first heretic
Chriss
Pah.....imperial propaganda. Trust me, it was Magnus ^^, it is always Magnus'es fault.
+The Pandora Guy but magnus did not want to be part of traitor legions it was fault of horus who changed the order from just arresting him to wipe out the whole of Thousand sons
Chriss
I know, i know. The final confrontation between the Thousand Sons and the Space Wolves.
Finally I found it!!
IMPERATOR VULT!
Versus de Bella quae fuit acta Fontaneto
Aurora cum primo mane tetram noctem dividit,
Sabbatum non illud fuit, sed Saturni dolium,
de fraterna rupta pace gaudet demon impius.
Bella clamat, hinc et inde pugna gravis oritur,
frater fratri mortem parat, nepoti avunculus;
filius nec patri suo exhibet quod meruit.
Caedes nulla peior fuit campo nec in Marcio;
fracta est lex christianorum sanguinis proluvio,
unde manus inferorum, gaudet gula Cerberi.
Dextera prepotens dei protexit Hlotharium,
victor ille manu sua pugnavitque fortiter:
ceteri si sic pugnassent, mox foret concordia.
Ecce olim velut Iudas salvatorem tradidit,
sic te, rex, tuique duces tradiderunt gladio;
esto cautus, ne frauderis agnus lupo previo.
Fontaneto fontem dicunt, villam quoque rustici,
ubi strages et ruina Francorum de sanguine;
orrent campi, orrent silvae, orrent ipse pauludes.
Gramem illud ros et ymber nec humectat pluvia,
in quo fortes ceciderunt, proelio doctissimi,
pater, mater, soror, frater, quos amici fleverant.
Hoc autem scelus peractum, quod descripsi ritmice,
Angilbertus, ego vidi pugnansque cum aliis,
solus de multis remansi prima frontis acie.
Ima vallis retrospexi, verticemque iugeri
ubi suos inimicos rex fortis Hlotharius
expugnabat fugientes usque forum rivuli.
Karoli de parte vero, Hludovici pariter
albent campi vestimentis mortuorum lineis,
velut solent in autumno albescere avibus.
iubar solis illi desit, aurora crepusculo.
Noxque illa, nox amara, noxque dura nimium,
in qua fortes ceciderunt, proelio doctissimi,
pater, mater, soror, frater, quos amici fleverant.
O luctum atque lamentum! Nudati sunt mortui.
Horum carnes vultur, corvus, lupus vorant acriter;
orrent, carent sepulturis, vanum jacet cadaver.
Ploratum et ululatum nec describo amplius:
unusquisque quantum potest restringatque lacrimae:
pro illorum animabus deprecemur dominum.
@@Chad-Rainis Remmeber you Latin if you picked it up at school.
And if you traduction is approximative you might find the key word to find severals online.
What are they chanting in high gothic?
Latin
No shit.
I thought you asked what language
No the actual lyrics. I know that High gothic is latin.
+The Steel Legionnaire High Gothic is nowhere near latin. Take all languages of the Earth, mix them together and then let them ripe for a few thousand years.
Now THAT is High Gothic
I'm fairly sure this isn't Dies Irae. Video 10 in this playlist ought to be, considering it contains the line "Dies irae et vindictae". Unless someone has better information? I'm just going by the lyrics and common sense.
The word bearer march is the Columba Hiensis that I've only been able to fin the the latin wiki: la.wikipedia.org/wiki/Columba_Hiensis
Fantastic spot. Columba Hiensis is the name of an Irish saint ('-ensis' suffix refers to someone being from somewhere, e.g. Guilelmus Malmesburiensis, William of Malmesbury. In this case, Hy = Iona, an island with British Christian traditions). The wiki page is about St Columba, and the hymn you've found is a Dies Irae attributed to him! You've made my point much better than I did.
look up +Zidiz post turn out it's passage form Angelbert Battle of Fontenoy poem I was able to find a source on a french site: fontanetum841.com/index.php/fr/archives-documentation-iconographie/complainte-d-angelbert
This is what plays when you fight the Dies Irae titan in Chaos Gate, apparently. The tenth track is the Word Bearers March.
Wait is this song really about a chaos titan
Yes it is. It plays when you fight the Dies Irae in the Chaos Gate game.
And it features in an Iron Warrior book Which name i forgot
@@praisethesun.praisedeussol6051 I think it's from Storm of Iron.

@@russellbrown6888 What mission is that?
Day of wrath
It sounds like song from Asterix and Cleopatra cartoon - Cleopatra's Bath
the god machine
this must be what its like being a psycher... with the warp constantly threatening to break through to rip out your soul and possibly replace it with something horrible and unnatural...
:D
+Rogal Dorn , hey ! Mr. Dorn sir! Can you build my little timmy a tree house?
+TheTalk J.E.T. He will fortify your position, literally.
Lemons are mighty fruits
Rogal, the fuck were you stalking the Emperor in the Imperial Palace while dressed like a centurion for!?
A revelation led him to it....

Dies irae et vindictae

In quo cessabit mulierum

The most righteous king of kings,
our Lord, his day is near;
the day of wrath and vengeance,
darkness and shadows.
And the day of miraculously
strong thunder,
and the day of anguish,
grief, and sorrow,
In which ceases
our love and desire for women,
and men's strife
and the desires of this world.
This lyrics is for Word Bearers march, I think
A good translation.
Hey Dies Irae was French for reason to live right?
+Avatrass, really? Cool thnx mate
+TheTalk J.E.T. yea the song is about the Titan named dies irae when you fight him it is his day of wrath if you will
+Evan Michael Suitka , day of wrath has a day if wrath......
Yes
It actually has a "direct descended" correpondent which more accurately translates. Day of Wrath is a more biblical type of translation because everyone even modern school graduates in the west will know what "wrath" means. This is especially true since there is a latin chant performed by a bunch of monks which is famous, called Dies Irae, and translated Day of Wrath (somewhat wrongly since there is a more accurate word which is actually pretty much rooted in the latin.)
*Is it just me or do chanting monks always sound so demonic that its become a stereotype for evil about to happen when the baritone monks get to humming?*
Anyways, check out the descendants...
Dies = Day
Irae = Ire
Day of Ire = Day of directed anger/rage. (Wrath is okay too, but the word itself is rooted elsewhere so not as cool as having the children of the latin strut center stage, eh?)
(Ire being a synonym for anger, rage or wrath, eg: "He felt his ire rising.") Not to be confused with Eyre (Ireland). Though I'm sure the people of Eyre demonstrated their ire when the I-R-eigh was born... oooh, *rimshot.*
