Aloha Memo, Yes, of course I had to stop everything & watch the latest Esmeraldense Review. For Esmeraldense is the Star of your Videos, the Queen of your Jungle. Even if you do all the work, LOL……. I’m hoping it will not be another year before you do a review on the smaller Keiki (Baby Propagate). Keiki Esmeraldense should at least get her own 6 month review, hehe…… As She is probably the size of most of our Esmeraldense’s, that were all inspired by your Big Tutu Mama Esmeraldense!!!!!! Once again, Mahalo for the wealth of information that you share. Many Blessings, & Much Aloha…………
Al Oyer, aloha! You know, you're absolutely right. The smaller Keiki deserves some attention too. I promise it won't be a year before that review! As for the Queen Esmeraldense, we all know who's really running the show here (and it's definitely not me 😂). Sending lots of love and aloha your way!
Love your shirt!
Awww thanks Vicky 😊💚🌿
Loving your top! Your Esmeraldense is absolutely the reason I got my own specimen:) Thank you for this video and all that you do!
Hi Hope, so happy to hear that you're loving the content! And I'm thrilled my Esmeraldense inspired you to get your own. Isn't it a fantastic plant? As for the top, I appreciate the compliment! I enjoy putting together these videos and getting to interact with you all. So, thank you for being here and being part of this awesome community! 🌱💚
@@Houseplantygoodness truly fantastic!
Due to your videos,I fel in love with the Esmeraldense. Since then I ve bought 2 small one's. Normally this week I will receive a bigger one from Ecuagenera. ❤❤
Memo! Your the mascot of a plant that isn't all that easy to track down here in the States. But, mine arrives tomorrow. After nearly a year of coveting yours, I'll have my own. and I PUMPED.
Dave, you're in for a treat! I'm excited for you. Do let me know how it goes with your new plant, I'm sure you'll love having an Esmeraldense of your own. Remember to be patient, it'll grow in time and will be worth the wait.
Love it! I have mine (because of you) in an Aroid mix. I propagated it immediately after I imported it from the big E. Luckily, that worked quite fast. I now have three I believe. Can’t remember because when I got it, I was surprised how mature it was - then realized they had taken a top cut before sending it out. 😢 We discussed back and forth, and eventually I settled on a discount for a following order and I chopped it up. Have some away, sold one, and then kept two or three. A very forgiving plant in my opinion. And while it did start off slow after the chop, at least it didn’t go juvenile on me. My leaves aren’t as large as yours, perhaps just slightly bigger than my head, but bigger than your smaller one. Also, it’s not phased about the occasional pest. In my place that’s usually mealies, thrips, and spider mites. It’s a good plant to have and a 10 in my books. I want to pot mine all together this week or next. Bambooooooo sticks, for sure. Definitely doesn’t need a moss pole. ❤
Tanya, oh you're always one step ahead, aren't you? That is why your Queendom always looks so amazing 😄 Your approach to propagation and handling plants is something I truly admire. Having three from one import sounds like quite a feat. I'm glad to hear they've been doing well despite some initial setbacks, and also that they've been dealing with pests like champions. That's a true testament to their resilience. And yes, bamboo sticks for the win!
@@Houseplantygoodness now imagine if I had your light and humidity!!! 🤣
just purchased this plant because of yours! ( no pressure 😊
It’s the centerpiece of your video set. Love to see it always looking like it’s fake…it doesn’t realize it can produce dry, yellow leaves😄. Thanks for sharing Memo!
Carol, your comments never fail to bring a smile to my face! 😊 It's true, the Esmeraldense does have a knack for staying vibrant and green. It's a diva that loves the spotlight, just like its place in my conservatory. Thanks for always being so supportive!
@@Houseplantygoodness I was hoping you or someone could help me, I bought a top cutting of the philodendron esmeraldense almost 6 weeks ago, and it will not root.. idk what to do first I did in water with a potho cutting then perlite. I will not root
Also, I payed $95 as if was a cutting from a larger plant
@@tequilahowell4674 hmmm so odd, have you tried a propagation bin? I did mine in a pot of damp perlite and put the whole thing there, gave it some e good light and it rooted. Otherwise damp sphagnum moss works too 😊
I bought a rooted esmeraldense a few months ago after seeing yours, and i love it. It’s now pushing out its third leaf, and though the leaves are quite small still, I’m happy enough watching it develop over time. Had spider mites on it as it was next to my frydek, which is a complete magnet to them, but I’m on it now so they don’t get a chance.
Great video as always, thanks 😊
What a beauty mine not doing well,I'm putting it lecca to see if it grow better😮
There is is! The video I've been waiting for! ❤
Memo you turned on the RUclips plant community to philodendron Esmeraldense
MissCHF, hey there! Your comment put a huge smile on my face 😁. So glad you've been excited for this one! And honestly, seeing everyone get into the Esmeraldense because of my videos is just the best thing ever.
@@Houseplantygoodness you're welcome, Memo. We all enjoy your content so much. Keep up the great work!
Sooo beautiful! Too big for my space:( But maybe one day...
Love that plant she is outstanding🥰 Been looking and can get a small plant at a very reasonable price, considering it. If I don’t it will be because of space, no other reason as I love the look of the Esmeraldense 🌱💚
Kathy, it's always lovely to see you here. If you've got the chance to get a reasonably priced Esmeraldense, I'd say go for it. Space can always be managed, but opportunities like that may not come around too often. But of course, you do what feels right for you. Thanks for your support! 😊💚🌿
Hey Memo! I got a cutting of this plant last October because of you! I have it on a pole and it has grown a lot, but it still a long long way from your size.
My plant produce a lot of EFN on its new foliage as bright yellow dots thats fades overtime, it could look a bit alarming.
I definitely need to be more consistent with watering this plant, my last leaf snapped its petiole while still in the cataphyll, but I have no doubt it will recover in time!
How's your 3D printing endeavor, have you tried anything interesting lately?
North, hello there! 👋 Your Esmeraldense journey sounds quite thrilling. I'm happy to hear it's been growing well, even if it's not quite reached full size yet. Those EFNs can indeed look a bit alarming but nothing major to worry about, in my experience. And about the 3D printing, I've been experimenting with some new designs lately, I'll keep everyone updated on how it goes!
Very nice! Looking to add one to my collection soon!
Plant Spam, hi there! That sounds like a great plan. Can't wait for you to add an Esmeraldense to your collection. It's truly a special plant! 😊💚🌿
Memo´s iconic plant :-) If I ever have the space to get the Esmeraldense, it would definitely be because of yours :-) A truly beautiful plant 💚
Very cool to know that it prefers the coarse semi-hydro with self-watering reservoir. Do you generally prefer this set-up instead of aroid mix for climbing philos? I´m going to chop and prop my Painted Lady soon and have the dilemma which of these two substrates to chose from (I have both ready).
SparkleInMoonlight, as always, it's so lovely to hear from you. If you ever do get the space, I'm telling you, the Esmeraldense will make it worth it! And on the substrate question - it really can depend on the plant. I've found the coarse semi-hydro works wonders for my climbing philos, but that doesn't mean a good aroid mix wouldn't do just as well. I guess my best advice would be to try it out and see what your Painted Lady prefers. Mine I have only ever tried in my Aroid mix and it is likely over 2m tall now 😬😅💚🌿 Keep me updated!
@@Houseplantygoodness Cool, thank you 😊 All the best 🌿🍀☀️
I totally got my esmeraladense because of yours as well, haha! I'm curious how it will grow in my conditions, though I what I can say already is that the leaves are quite different from how I imagined them. I assumed they'd be similar to the Philodendron felix (relatively thin but rigid and cardboardy to the touch), but they are a lot more like the leaves of a plowmanii (thin but more bendy and rubbery to the touch). Or maybe that's just the case for the more juvenile specimen? 🤔
E. P., hey! I'm really glad to hear you got an esmeraladense! The leaf texture you're describing does sound more like a juvenile, but remember, plants can be full of surprises. It'll be fascinating to see how yours grows. Do keep me updated!
I was hoping someone could help me. I bought a top cutting of this plant 5-6 wrrks ago and she will not root. Ive done water with a pothos cutting then perlite
I ❤ esmeraldense 🤣🤣👍💌
Same Maria Same 💚💚💚🌿
Hi dear. Just started watching you from the good old usa. Love your style and your plant videos. My question is I keep hearing about buying from auctions or shows from places like ecogenera.? I looked on their site everywhere and only saw pics of plants at their regular prices. Can you tell me where to look? Thank you 4:30 😊😊😂😊
