  • We were quite shocked when we tested the new Cobra Aerojet driver. This low spinning head certainly can clock up the speed and distance. We walk you through what low spin means when it comes to these Cobra drivers and how you can get the most distance from them.

I ended up going for a Driver Fitting Session on July 26th. I went in with an open mind. I told my fitter to bring out whatever he felt would be best, after I requested hitting the TaylorMade Stealth 2 Plus. He also brought out the PING G430, Callaway Paradym, and the Cobra AeroJet LS. The Cobra AeroJet LS gave me the best numbers and I hit it 2nd to last of the above drivers. I was really pleasantly surprised by the numbers. It increased my avg distance by 11.5 yards from my SIM, brought the spin down by 748 rpms down to an avg rpm of 2182 from my previous driver. I had my first 300 yard drive of the season last Thursday at 305 yards in the Fairway on only my 3rd round using the AeroJet LS. I really like how neutral it sits at address and the adjustability of the driver. I went with the Kai'li Blue 60S shaft and had my driver set at 10.5 degrees. My fitter was also great, in that he recommended golf balls that would work well with my new Driver and explained how the spin could affect the ball flight. He recommended the ProV1x, Taylor Made TP5, Srixon Diamond, and the Callaway Chrome Soft X. I was playing the ProV1x and the TP5 ball. I bought a box of the Srixon Diamonds. It was the ball I used on the 305 yard drive. I just bought a box of the Callaway Chrome Soft X balls yesterday that I will be using on Wednesday. The AeroJet really helped straighten out my ball flight. I have the 12 g weight in the heel and the 3 gram weight on the toe. I really love this driver. I would highly recommend for anyone looking at new equipment to get fitted.

I was super surprised by the numbers this driver produced for me during my fitting with Dave, super club with huge potential for people seeking every last inch of distance

I got recently got a fitting and Cobra Aerojet was recommended. I didn’t like the pie shape look of the head and went TSR2. Interesting that David doesn’t use the standard head that much.

Well spotted Rob. 👀👀He switches a lot even hours before a tournament so could end up back hitting the Cobra again but was using it when we shot this video a few months ago 👍🏻

First Q: what was the shaft, weight and flex you broke in that Flyz?

Ideally reshaft the original head with the exact same shaft. If you want a new head get the new DarkSpeed X head with the heavy weight at the back. The LS head is a low spinning low flighted design that’s why you struggled with it. The X will help to launch it and keep things stable. Go for the 10.5 loft and get a similar profile shaft to match your old shaft spec. That should work 👍🏻

@foregolfcustom what about the standard aerojet with the weight at the back.10.5 is my loft on the fly z.i know the ls is definitely not for me but I was going to try the standard one on monday

Too much talking, guys. Please add test clubhead and ball data, launch and spin data, etc.

Really wish you would have shown the difference between the clubs actually in action instead of all talk.
