Great video, Again. 2 weeks ago I put on the BRS dual reactor and I haven't seen my tank as clear as it is now. Keep up the great work...

Great video as usual! I don't have a reactor and I'm not running GFO but now I think I should look into it. I have a 75 gallon reef with not much coral and it's running great...thanks to you guys

Ryan how about a test to see the loss of trace elements using a carbon reactor on a reef tank?

Thank you for your response. In your opinion which brand would you suggest for Carbon Which is worth its value? I have a 150G mixed reef setup. Thanks

would I be able to run K1, K2, K3 filter media in one of these reactors. I have the dual reactor and I'm just going to use one for carbon and was thinking what to use the other one for.

Are there any organics is freshwater tanks that could be taken out by activated carbon?

I guess it might sound like a dumb question, but during my curing phase on initial set up would you run a carbon and phosphorus or should I wait until this stage is completed?

The sponge you use in the reactor wouldnt that inturn become a store house for nitrate also?

Would using multiple carbon reactors help improve the effectiveness of carbon past the first few days after the film builds and most of the pores are clogged up? Or perhaps using carbon with larger pores in the first reactor and progressively smaller pored carbon in the following reactors?

  • @thepassionreef

hi Ryan what are your thoughts about the product Kent Reef Carbon. It says on their packaging not to run beyond 3 days because it is a very strong activated carbon. I have read on forums this is a marketing gimmick. Is it safe to run it for atleast couple of weeks if not for a month????

Quick question: You dont seem to carry canister type filters. Is using reactors just the better option for chemical media filtration? Also i have a 65 mixed reef and no room for a sump, what would you recommend as quality filtration? I currently have a hob ps and a canister lots of live rock and deep sand. Thanks! your videos have gotten me back into my old hobby!

I'm going to start my first reef soon. It's a 90 gallon with a big internal filter. I'm going to use live rock and have a internal skimmer from Tunze. What should i use in my internal filter? It has 2 baskets and i'm going to fill the top one with mechanical filter. Should i fill the bottom tray with some chemical?

Your saying its ok to wrinse a bag of carbon under tap water and then insert it in the aquarium? Im not sure if i heard correctly or understood. From my understanding tap water should not come into contact with a reef tank whatsoever
