    Hi, it's Yuenny. Here's a little information on my Louis Vuitton Speedy repair. I did go on a little rant about the service, but I wanted to share it with you all.

    This is so sad. I was completely ignored in Louis Vuitton Marbella. I had to just leave...then went to Hermes and got a warm welcome. I have a very good relationship with my local LV store . In fact I can text my SA who is also a manager. It's a shame that some people feel snooty about working in a luxury store. Your bag got a lovely facelift though! xx

      Lifeplasty Thank you. I'm glad I did it because I was finding it a little annoying with the zip. Very happy with the result 😊 x

    I'm so happy you made this video...have been thinking about fixing the leather tab on my 28 year old speedy. I think I might go ahead and see how much it will cost. What do you think it might cost just the tab? Thanks xx

    • @YuennyLam
      @YuennyLam  6 лет назад +2

      Moriah McQueen I'm glad it's been helpful. It was £61 for the zip, which includes the tab, but replacing the tab on its own should be a lot cheaper. My guess would be half of the price I paid unless the only way to replace the tab is to also replace the zip. Sorry. I'm being so vague, but this is the only rhing I've ever had replaced so I'm not too familiar with repair pricing 😕 Let me know how much they quote you x x

      Thank you for that information. My leather tab broke off two days ago 😩 on my vintage speedy 35. I’ve heard many horror stories about snooty SAs. I live in London, so I wouldn’t be going to Bond Street, but to the Louis Vuitton in Selfridges.

    Not boring at all as my vintage speedy needs a trip soon. Negative? only for LV.
    I may have to consider Dior.
    I have a " delightful " but I see their reps are all but that.
    Love your personality and accent.

      Vanessa Lowe What would you have done on your vintage Speedy? I have a Delightful too and I agree, their customer service isn't exactly that. Thank you for your lovely comment and listening to my rant =D

    Does anyone know if Louis Vuitton will replace a regular gold zipper pull on a toiletry pouch with this zipper pull? I just like this one with the leather so much better than the plain gold one.

    • @YuennyLam
      @YuennyLam  6 лет назад +1

      My guess would be that they won't replace the gold zipper pull with the leather one because that would modify the original design of the item. But I am interested to know if anybody knows the answer to this.

    I'm glad you got your bag repaired but that service was terrible. Sorry hun you had that experience. It's not negative it's what you experienced thanks for sharing!

      It is a shame. More often than not, the service they provide isn't great. I'd say about 30% of the times I go to a store I get good service. I'm glad I have my bag back =) Thank you for letting me share my story.

    I loved your video, very interesting.
    I have a quite a new speedy and the zip pull bit has separated in two. I'm undecided if I should pay for a repair or glue it.
    Were you tempted to get your speedy hot stamped while you were there?
    Although in light of the service maybe you just wanted to get finished up.

    • @YuennyLam
      @YuennyLam  7 лет назад +1

      Thank you hun x If you're close enough to a store I'd take it in and see what they suggest. Maybe they'll get it repaired for free (if lucky). Sounds quite back though. Is it your DE Speedy? I don't think I'll get any of my bags or SLGs hotstamped. I'm not planning to sell anything any time soon, but the value decreases so much when personalised. I've never been tempted to get anything hotstamped, other than the luggage tags. Let me know what you decide on your Speedy zip x

    • @fiona400
      @fiona400 7 лет назад

      YUNIQ Today yes it is my DE.
      I really should ask at the store. My closest LV is two hours away so not impossible.
      I'm a bit embarrassed as there is a cat bite imprint on the tag too .
      Cat's just have no regard for iconic bags 😡.

    • @YuennyLam
      @YuennyLam  7 лет назад

      It shouldn't cause the zip to be like that though, despite having cats. My cat just rubs her head on my bags, so she's OK. The only time it has been close is when she gets carried away playing chase lol. I just need to remember not to have playtime too close to my bags hehe. I hope it'll be good news. Keep me posted x

    The timing of this video couldn't be better! Found out my 4 month old speedy b has cracks along the piping of one corner of the bag and I've hardly used it. Do you think they'll let me replace or exchange it? I don't want to pay for repairs when I've hardly used the bag >_

    • @YuennyLam
      @YuennyLam  7 лет назад

      I think the fact that you have had the bag for less than a year, they should repair it for free. And if they can't fix it they should give you a new one. I'd definitely go into the store and speak to someone, and if they tell you that you have to pay, then try and speak to someone else, even at a different store. I think if you are served by someone nice they'll be more helpful. All the best of luck and I hope you won't get a rude SA. Keep me posted.

    Tip: If you oil the zipper (using any sort of cooking oil), then the zipper becomes very smooth, and not sticky at all. Hence no need to replace a perfectly good zipper :)
    Also if your bag smells, all the odors become absorbed if you put an open box of baking soda in the bag and zip it closed for a few days.

    • @YuennyLam
      @YuennyLam  6 лет назад

      angeliqueinhollywood Thank you for the tip. I did try using different types of cooking oil but it didn't help with making the zip smoother. It did a little after putting the oil on but quickly became sticky again. It's now all new and smooth though 😄

    • @PtolemyXVII
      @PtolemyXVII 6 лет назад +1

      Hi, you have to put the oil on top and under the zipper and rub it in and let it set for awhile. Metal parts need lubrication to work well. You can also use WD-25 (a grease used to lubricate metal parts in equipment and mechanical watches) but I think oil works better.
      I also think it's nicer that salespeople leave you alone at luxury shoppes. I hate it when multiple people hound me and follow me around so I can't look at stuff without some kind of privacy. I think they are trained to leave customers alone and not trying to ignore you purposely. :D

  • @louisecara

    It's really weird they didn't approach you. Their customer service really varies per store. I don't think I've ever been where someone didn't come over to help, and I always look very scruffy :s x

    • @YuennyLam
      @YuennyLam  7 лет назад +2

      louise.cara Usually someone comes over eventually but I feel that some SAs pick and choose who they want to serve. I've never gone in a store where I haven't been served at all but it's usually a while, even when they aren't busy. Of course it's different when it's manic and everyone is occupied x

    Zipper pull ( the zipper is great and matches the bag , gold-toned)and tab that attaches the handle is wearing, cracking almost.
    The leather tags on it probably will need replacing too. Lol...is that not just about ALL of the leather ??
    It is about 25 years old. The canvas and piping is fantastic. I carry it ALOT---> i really like it!!!!

    • @YuennyLam
      @YuennyLam  7 лет назад

      It does sound like there's quite a bit to replace, but once it's done it'll hopefully last another 25 years. I love vintage LVs. I would really like to find a Speedy 30 Mono made in 1984. The one I have is 85, which is pretty close, but I have never seen one on sale from 84 in good enough condition (and doesn't smell).

    I feel the same abojt going to the store. It’s just so sad. I prefer making my purchases online. Although, now I do have a SA and I can just text her for any request. I think she doesn’t even remember me in person lol!

    • @YuennyLam
      @YuennyLam  4 года назад +1

      We don't get SAs here in the UK. I've heard a lot of people in other countries get SAs they can message and request items. I don't enjoy going into the store as much anymore but the last two times I ordered online was a disaster as well 😄 Maybe I should just steer away from LV.

  • @TammyOful
    @TammyOful 7 лет назад +1

    At the Louis Vuitton store I go to they make the customers wait in line outside and have each SA, as they become available, come up to each customer before they even set foot in the store, so you are started off right away with an SA to help you.

    • @YuennyLam
      @YuennyLam  7 лет назад

      That's very organised. I can imagine that's the kind of service you get in Paris. Someone eventually serves me whenever I go, but I don't like the feeling that SAs pick and choose who they want to serve . And sometimes when I finally get served they come across as very impatient and tries to rush me into buying something.

    • @Lifeplasty
      @Lifeplasty 7 лет назад

      That was the system in Paris at the Galleries Lafayette...the Champs Elysees store was atrocious...so busy and ignored a lot of customers.

      @YuennyLam  7 лет назад

      Lifeplasty Really? I hope I won't get bad service when we go there in May. I'm planning on buying something while there. I wish I had a good SA I could contact. It would make a lot of difference.

      That’s also the system in the Birmingham branch in the United Kingdom and it’s great shopping in that store.

    I live in LA, California and I rarely have an SA ignore me but ONCE in a while (when I wear sweat pants and comf outfit) I'll walk into the store with SAs just staring like deer in headlights lol. Sucks that their service changes depending on what you're wearing that day haha but I never let that discourage me since.. I couldn't care less for them to recognize my status. If no one talks to you and they're doing absolutely nothing, just go up to them and be the first to say "Hi I'm here for ... (so&so)". My business is usually quick- in and out- never let these condescending SAs waste your precious time ;)

    • @YuennyLam
      @YuennyLam  7 лет назад +2

      Celestexx It happens more often than you'd expect here in London. Birmingham was OK and Manchester a lot better. When I know I'm going to LV I always make the effort to not dress too scruffy (not that it should matter) but I try to make the effort. And usually it's a long day out as all the stores are so far away so I like to look a bit nicer. But however I dress, I seem to get bad service probably 40-50% of the time, which is such a shame. I could order online but if I'm buying a bag I like to inspect it first.

    How do you replace or take out lining of the inside pocket on speedy 25. Mine is torn inside the pocket.

    • @YuennyLam
      @YuennyLam  5 лет назад

      I think the only way to replace it would be to take it to LV for repairs. I'd imagine they have to replace the whole inside pocket. If you live near a store it's worth taking the bag in for a quote.

    exactly same as the george street store in Sydney.. either no one approaches you, or rude (until you decide to buy and their attitude turns).... and dont know what they are talking about.

    • @YuennyLam
      @YuennyLam  6 лет назад +1

      it's such a shame that they behave like that. I always feel like I'm being judged when I walk into a store. Most of them do look you up and down and make a quick decision as to whether or not they want to serve you. Their knowledge is also pretty bad. A lot of the times I know more than they do. They are not suitable as SAs for a luxury brand =/

    • @jasonm2450
      @jasonm2450 6 лет назад

      Yuenny Lam completely agree with you.
      When I was in Singapore I walked in with a tank top and sandals and let me tell you, the SA didn’t just not say hi but basically avoided me and walked off when I approached the desk..
      But yeh, a lot of them don’t know their products. I’ve had them confidently told me certain items didn’t come in certain prints, and I had to show them their own website.

    • @YuennyLam
      @YuennyLam  6 лет назад

      Occasionally I come across helpful SAs, but generally it's because they are still new and probably still on their probation period. It shouldn't matter what people wear and look like - they should be happy to serve anybody who walks through the door.
      I've been told on a couple of occasions that a particular item and print won't be discontinued, because it's their "permanent collection" and what happened? 1-2 months later it's discontinued. I've had to show them pictures from their website as well in the past. It's so disappointing that such a lovely brand gets ruined by their staff and the quality in recent years... poor =(

      Thank you for subscribing =) I don't understand if someone chooses to work in a customer-facing role and then offers bad service. I can understand if a customer is rude to begin with. I've worked in retail myself and know how awful it is to be treated rudely, so I am always nice to Sales/Customer Assistants. It baffles me.... If you ever work at LV, let me know, so I can get exceptional service =)
