Hello, this is a good review on the Husqvarna emerald 118 and is a machine that i am interested in buying. This sewing machine has most of what i am looking for in a first machine.
I would like to know if the bobbin case is plastic or metal?

    Is it good for leather?

Yes this works well on leather jackets but not for a shoe sole or belt.

Do you have a Viking 118 walking walking foot tutorial

One question is this machine better or the bernete b05 craft that came out not long ago? Or the Juki H 353z domestic. In terms of engine? I just don't know which of the 3 to buy. I would like to be able to do everything but not have a weak machine and not a very noisy one. Greetings. I hope you can help me!

I am not familiar with the other brands. The Viking will see 10 layers of heavy denim with the correct needle.

Why are you hitting the side of the machine?

What size bobbin is it and where can I purchase more?

This is very similar to a L style bobbin if you are doing prewound bobbins. Call our store if you want them shipped to you..800-353-4677.

Why is this sewing machine so expensive? It costs almost as much as a juki dl8100 industrial sewing machine.

Interesting that you find this expensive. The Emerald 118 is our most popular entry level plus sewing machine. Things that make it popular are the durability and ease of use. We see these 20 years old. I understand how a video does not do justice to the smooth running and power. Quality tools are a long term investment. We sell a lot of cheaper sewing machines because not everyone needs a machine that will last a lifetime.

@@electrichospital in England I can pay £100 more and get a juki dl8100. The juki is a far superior sewing machine than the emerald 118. To me I would rather spend the extra and get the juki.

I find it strange to compare a machine that costs $300 U.S.A. more and only does one stitch. There's no button hole, zig zag, blind hem or overcast on the Juki you mentioned. To compare the two is meaningless as they are for different applications. One is great for high speed straight stitches but fails on many other fronts. I love to paddle my canoe but it doesn't replace my car.

@@electrichospital In England it costs $430. While the juki is $540.
