Set on a remote island off the west coast of Ireland, THE BANSHEES OF INISHERIN follows lifelong friends Pádraic (Colin Farrell) and Colm (Brendan Gleeson), who find themselves at an impasse when Colm unexpectedly puts an end to their friendship. A stunned Pádraic, aided by his sister Siobhán (Kerry Condon) and troubled young islander Dominic (Barry Keoghan), endeavours to repair the relationship, refusing to take no for an answer. But Pádraic's repeated efforts only strengthen his former friend’s resolve and when Colm delivers a desperate ultimatum, events swiftly escalate, with shocking consequences.

Just like in this clip, Barry Keoghan absolutely steals every scene he's in. Which is saying something, because Colin Farrell, Brendan Gleeson, and Kerry Condon are all brilliant as well. What a great film
Interesting to see it from a different perspective. Couldn't really get absorbed into his performance in this because the accent wasn't convincing.

Barry Keoghan creeps me the hell out. And I don't really think he still the show. He stands out, that much is true. Only because he is quirky though. Like in anything he is in.

Seven Psychopaths is for plebs. In Bruges was great, but everytime Martin tried to go american he failed for me.

I tried to see this at a theatre, but the volume was blasting, they wouldn't dim the theatre lights, and the theatre was stuffy and smelly. Can't wait to see it when it streams.

Galway or Clare I suppose. There's more than one Irish accent. Wouldn't make much sense for Barry Keoghan to speak with his inner city Dublin accent in a film set on the other side of Ireland.

I feel like I'm definitely being a bit thick here, but despite having just seen the film (and loving it) I think I'm missing something with the 'barred until April' joke - could someone please explain it? I'd really appreciate it, I'm driving myself mad here unable to figure out this simple joke.
Dominic was banned from the pub until April. The month had just switched to April nothing more to it.
The pubowner doesn't even know what month it is.
