I think the big thing troubling fans with the trailer is the comedic writing overtaking the serious moments, but if fans saw a more serious interaction between Optimus and Megatron at Cinemacon, that makes me hopeful for the future of this franchise. Also, the comparison of animation style to the Bionicle movies was SPOT ON.
I went too look at the leaks form the test screening. this film actually has a lot of serious moments. IT GETS VERY DARK. There are a lot of serious moments as the film goes on ( especially in the end of it.)

I feel like in a sequel it will be a War For Cybertron Movie because TF One is like a War Dawn movie
Seeing OP and Megs acting like real friends makes it so heart breaking to where they end up. Imagine trying to kill someone you one laughed and joked around with.

Even if it does have a much more kid tone to it you gotta remember that Transformers is a kid show, it started out as a Saturday morning cartoon to sell toys to kids, now that doesn’t mean they can’t have serious moments in transformers but that also means they can have a more lighthearted, comedic tone. I mean look at things like animated, RID and Cyberverse.
It didnt start out as a Saturday morning show. It was a syndicated show that played every weekday afternoon and it was much more mature than this trailer.

Megatron and Optimus actually seem like really best buds in this, I’m totally down for a realistic depiction of going from best buds to war torn enemies. The vibe works!

I won't lie, as a die-hard transformers fan, I wanted something like the Cybertron games, but as a normal person who's seen what paramount has done before, it was never gonna be that. It's still the closest thing we've gotten to what we've been wanting for years, and I will probably love this movie for that alone.
I think most of us wanted something like War for Cybertron.
I think what we need to realize is that the war started AFTER Orion became a Prime. These characters are not hardened. they are just workers trying to find there way and make the best of what they got. is the trailer leaning too hard into the humor? kind of but if this becomes a trilogy, you know by the third movie all of these characters will have a familiar humor like how they do int TF Prime. where its a bit cold and honest rather than humoristic.

So ppl don't know that the war was millions of years long and that autobots where really the imperialist and was basically colonizers of the Deceptacons. Megatron is basically is Spartacus I would love to see the war on cybertron play out but more of an adult version the consequences the pain and all that ... This is good too but ya they need to make Transformers Dark
As a casual Transformers fan, I didn't think it looked very good. But it's going for a younger audience, which is totally fine, and in that way it'll probably succeed. I will say the Chris Hemsworth voice at certain points really worked for me, and other times it felt like regular Chris Hemsworth

As a younger audience, I didn't appreciate it to look "more cheesy scenes." But I will manage to see the movie, whether it is better or not.
Doesn't matter. There are so many cartoons made for kids that are good at adding mature and dark themes. I don't like the excuse "it's for younger audiences", nah it's just cheesy

It looks like a straight to streaming tv series. It’ll flop, besides some of the language it’s definitely for preteens and younger. The only positive I’ll give the movie is bumblebee actually talks instead of using the dumb radio gimmick.

Growing up in the 80s and being a fan of the OG cartoon (and toys) I enjoyed this trailer.. it’s different and it’s new.. I’m all for a new generation discovering something I grew up loving!!
I am really excited to immerse myself in this world of Transformers One. I like the tone, which reminds me of Transformers G1. The action would be top-notch. I can see the potential of it, how the gang would all be childhood-friendly and then later on can go dark, which sets off the trilogy. I have not been this excited about Transformers for years.
So noone noticed how they had a robot undertone to their voices in the first 10 seconds of the trailer THEN for the rest of the trailer their voices are literally JUST the celebrities talking with NO robotic undertone

It looks good, them being young and it being set before the war helos the comedic tone imo, makes the grittiness of future transformers feel more realistic

As a fan of Transformers, this is looking really good for me. I did like the little references thrown in here like D-16's Head is colored very similarly to old 80's comics version of Megatron, I liked when they were transforming in trailer like halfway into vehicle modes like you can do with the toys. I don’t mind the tone here, but I think once we see Orion and D-16 starting to butt heads in their ideology, that's when we're going to get the more dark and serious moments. Overall, just hyped to have a good old time watching this in theaters.
TOTALLY AGREE. I think with time and more films, this series will develop into exactly what Transformers fans have been waiting for: a Transformers focused civil war story.

That level of humor is only really going to connect with very young audiences. It's rated PG-13 isn't it? Not just this movie but other properties these days too seem to think anyone under thirteen is at that level of humor
I did personally feel weird when i saw the Trailer. But i said over and over. I'm willing to give the movie a shot. Amd hearing that yhe setious moments will be in the movie could work. Just gave me a tonal whiplash as in my own book I'm writing I'm at the end of the whole series. Finishd it and now just need to go to Hasbro about getting the rights. But I'll still give this movie a chance. I watched it as soon as I got the notification on my phone. Sooo I can't wait for it
No one is hating on the animation or style, from what I see the reception online looks great and I definitely can’t wait to see this movie in theaters!

If y’all don’t know this. This transformers one brought back way back in the 80’s when Orion becomes Optimus Prime and D-16 becomes megatron. Also when they became friends right when they became rival enemies.
Soo if you don’t like it then don’t watch it if you’re going to complain too much.

I'm down for it. I was hoping for a slightly more stylized animation style like Mutant Mayhem, but this works well enough for me. It seems about in line with the 80s cartoon with a bit more seriousness that I can get behind
honestly, this looks pretty good. even as a fan of transformers, it's supposed to be a kids movie. but, as a teen, it's honestly not too bad

As a long-time Transformers fan, I'm really excited for Transformers One. The animation looks beautiful, the voice acting is pretty good, and the Easter eggs are spot-on. Also, the Transformers franchise has always been comedic since the G1 cartoon, so they shouldn't even complain about the movie's tone in the first place.
I actually think Trailer really works as an origin show how Optimus and Megatron were before the war that they started as best buddies Telling jokes and having fun Before it all went to waste. And the comedy could work To show the darker Moments Like to use The comedy Build it up something nice Before they pulled the rug off.

lol I didn’t show the footage as an insult to the shows quality. Only to it’s animation style. Transformers beast wars is regarded by many to be one of the best transformers shows and that animation is DATED.

As a Transformers fan I like it! We've gotten plenty of very serious, war-like Transformers stuff and this one looks like it might bring in younger generations. Seems to have a lot of good action as well which I'm all about! I think it's a good way to go and I'm excited for it!
In my opinion i think the design are good because this is the beginning of Megatron and Optimus and as Time goes on the design will change as well as the tone sense we know this is going to be a full on trilogy

I mean the transformers franchise did start as a franchise for kids anyway just like G.I Joe i don't why people are getting mad over something that was made for kids anyway.
I think It turn out great as the plot and characters have grown on me very quickly and the animation and art directions looks gorgeous in some shots so overall I am pumped for the film!
The main villains are probably going to be the Quintessons who we saw in the trailers... They even have the nemisis space ship which the decepticons use later on
As someone that's seen a lot of iterations of the IP from the 200s up to as recent as the Netflix War For Cybertron trilogy, I'm not too surprised that this ended up being exactly like what was described in that Cinemacon description. I was caught a bit off guard with the humor but the animation itself was at least better than what I expected it to look. All in all, I'm intrigued to see how the rest of it will go here. It might end up being better than what was seen here.

This looks like a awesome movie and that part where bumblebee runs away is funny😂 and seeing how optimus and megatron were such buddies as orion and D-16 is kind of heartbreaking. Even more when you think of what megatron said "we were brothers once".
I feel like the tone of this trailer is to get people interested - mainly the younger audience. From what I’ve heard, this movie is meant to be for everyone and I feel like we’ll see the film being darker than anticipated.
Also regarding continuity - I believe it was mentioned that this is its own continuity and it’s not connected to the films. Comodin Cam recently made a video about it.
I think it looks at least very beautiful and unique for a Big budget animated film at the very least, even if I think the dialogue is a tiny bit cheesy, i think it’ll at least be a charming fun time that’s boosted up by strong visuals imo
