Mahito just won't die, his leg got chopped and he got crushed, after like 2 or 3 episodes, he returns, gets beaten up by Itadori, got his leg chopped by Nanami, they try to kill him, yet he's still alive

Jujutsu Kaisen is always going to be a Legend for this episode. They freaking alluded to Junpei eventually joining the Jujutsu School with the Ending for half the season, and then it turns out to be a Trick the entire time! This episode was the first time I was actually in shock watching an anime. And then you add in Mahito and Sakuna mocking Itadori the whole time and it just adds to that vibe of "Oh, this isn't going to end like most Shonen do"

JJK is a series that flips the entire genre of shonen on its head by introducing new standards and concepts completely unheard of in the shonen community. Everyone expects a character to spit blood when they get hit in the stomach, Mahito simply smiles and counter attacks. Everyone expects Junpei to live, yet he dies right in front of Yuji. Everyone expects Yuji’s rage to help him win the fight, but he still loses until Nanami shows up. Everyone expects Sukuna to power level Yuji, but he works against Yuji instead. The series is purely meant to spin shonen tropes on their head and tell a completely new and fresh story at the same time

Many say that this will be like Naruto a boy who befriend a demon. Well, if you read the manga, it is the complete opposite of that. Itadori is literally suicidal because of Sukuna's existence. Itadori only keeps on living for now because of Megumi. This would certainly be like Naruto if Fushiguro is Sukuna's vessel. But the one who will do the talking and befriending is Sukuna. XD

The average shounen manga/anime would have Junpei be added as a ally and the power of nakama will win over all evil. But the reason why Jujutsu Kaisen is so good is because it subverts the expectation of the story and make a dark and depressing twist.

Uh, the average shounen manga/anime has a few deaths and irredeemable characters. This is nothing new. Jujutsu Kaisen is good for presentation, not because it's "dark and depressing". It's pretty standard if anything in terms of dark stuff. It ain't not Berserk or Hunter x Hunter.

Funny how Itadori chose to give up everything just to save his one friend, that would be in Sukuna’s favor. But either because he already had a plan in mind, wants his curse to reside inside Fushiguro instead of Itadori, or just wants to fuck over Itadori maliciously, Sukuna rejects the offer, relishing in Itadori’s despair. He literally chose his host’s suffering over an easy pass to a body.

Having read the latest manga chapter, I thought the reason behind Yuji being able to damage Mahito was due to Sukuna's soul unknowingly strengthening Yuji.
But it looks like it's Yuji's cursed technique!
Being able to hurt the spul is something everybody can do, they just gotta be able to see the outline of their own soul and everybody elses, yuji is only special in this regard since he is one of the few people to see it, and also because he has the strongest soul, or is atleast heavenly implied to have a stronger soul than sukuna.

That's not yuuji that's sukuna. Sukuna is stronger than mahito so mahito got scared and stopped trying to pull out sukuna to take charge of yuujis body. And yuuji packed powerful punches and then also hits hard after the physical punch with cursed energy. It dangerous to face those for any curse even mahito.
If we go by the manga, it said that Yuji cursed energy flow directly from Sukuna that it has a special property that would directly damage the soul. (Kinda OP for Yuji, but then again Mahito is also a OP enemy to begin with)

His Power-up in the latter Shibuya arc is actually nut that even Itadori could barely keep up.

I really liked junpei's character and his abilities 😢 I guess they can't have him alongside Megumi, I like junpei and his summon way more than I like megumi's tho.
Only because megumi hasn't reached his height and he doesn't have full control of his techniques. He posses the power to defeat sukuna and gojo in one on one fight. Why do u think sukuna found megumi interesting? In past it already happened. There was one guy with megumi power who fought six eye user with limitless curse technique (just like gojo) and he killed him, even though he died in the process too but he defeated a guy who was strong as gojo. U wait until megumi tames other shikigami which are going much cooler and stronger than now.
