Bona, you are spot on. Parenting has to be intentional if you want your children to excel. My daughter is now 33 years and from inside the womb, I would sing nursery rhymes, choruses from church to her. Bedtime from the day I delivered was spent reading both Bible and other childhood stories to her. When she started attending day care at 18 months, she did not realise she was still a baby herself, she was talking clearly, asking to help look after younger babies. I still remember vividly, the day I went to pick her up, the staff showed me a jigsaw puzzle of 300 pieces that she completed without any assistance. When she moved over to proper nursery school, she could write three letter words while older children were scribbling. Her reading age at Primary Two was that of a Form Two (secondary) student. Her secondary school library could not keep up with books that satisfy her curiosity. As a child, my mother taught me so much through what I now see was intentional, but fun. Holiday time, we would make brooms from the palm fronds, learn to make homemade Vim with crushed eggshells. I had library excursions, I read and still read books, etc. Do not talk to babies with babbling, give them real words from day one. They will thank you later on in life.
@@modeleodebiyi1967 MY GOD this comment truly brought tears to my eyes, I’m learning tooo as much as you guys think you are learning from me. Thank you for sharing your experience with me and I pray I do better with my Children, they are my legacy and I have promised myself to leave a good one!!!!!
You've said it all Mama... Mummy instinct is powerful. My 1year old does a lot of amazing things because less screen time and more physical creative play time. My 5year is the youngest in his class and always top (to the glory of God) because despite having a tab... He knows when he should pick it up, and he knows when he should drop it. It was a lot of hard work, patience and prayers. Thank you for the values you dish out in this channel.
Thank you for always sharing helpful tips! My husband and I already have a solid agreement on our kids using tabs. Even if it’s a gift, they’re not going to use it. Slowly, human interaction is fazing out, kids no longer read so key books like we did while growing up. Phones have adults on chokehold, how much more kids! I’m really learning and may God help us! Thank you,Boma ❤
Frequent communication and less screen time is the best way to help our children. I’ve learnt a lot from my daughter and it take been intentional to really get them to the next level
Thank you for sharing Bomsy. As someone who is yet to have children I am learning so much from this vlog; I see a lot of my nieces and nephews go through some of the challenges Kaito had. I think there is also a lot of learning in cartoons and technology really but with this manipulated and distorted world we need to be very careful. Also, this technology and cartoons are going no where, they will have plenty of time to catch up and like Bomsy said, 0-5 years is better to fill it up with one-on-one interactions instead. You cannot replace parent attention, listening, care, talks with iPad because you will lose your child’s growth and the aspects that they need you the most. ❤❤❤ Seriously Bomsy, thank you for this, very insightful!
Boma, well said. I have a 2 yr old going on 3 and she speaks clearly. My mum taught me early enough not to babble with my kids so I speak to them directly even as at babies. God help us parents. Thanks for sharing the tips. More wisdom.
Thank you for sharing, I’m learning a lot from you and Sotee especially, I’m still battling this issue with my son but I see changes. This parenting thing is not for the weak o, I don almost tire and I need to start paying attention to my daughter so I don’t make the same mistakes.

My daughter didn’t start school till 2 however I was guilty of screen time. But when she started her school advised read more to her to improve her vocabulary plus I got her a virtual lesson teacher this year (she’s 4 ) I try to limit screen time especially infact this holiday when we’re home and I ensure we are outside (tho I’m working from home. ) to avoid being tempted to use screen time to compensate while working and tending to a newborn, she goes to summer camp 3 times a week (no screen time , creative play , they even take her to church to teach her about donations to the less privilege. I’m a mom of 4 ages 21,20,10,1 and trust me you do learn from the previous child. My baby is a few months older than yours and one thing I do know is not compare them bc they will learn at their own pace. My babies have all talked, walked, and was potty trained before they were 1thats bc we take out that time. Being a parent isn’t easy but we’re doing the best job with what we have, but one thing I know I’m focusing on is teaching my babies about God and not wait til they grow up. Good video❤
