    The filters always come off so easy in the videos. Just make sure the oil filter gasket comes off with the old filter.

    it's comforting to know people still use ford brand parts in ford vehicles. the oil to me should have also been motorcraft

    The oil filter and oil pan would be found next to each other? I'm not sure where to find either.

      The Oil pan is at the bottom of the car and the filter is under the hood I believe.

    No information about oil bolt size, filter type, oil type or amount. Maybe include this info on future videos

    When do you chang the oil, every 3k or 5k? I take it to a express lube place and they tell me i need high mileage for my 03 Tauras with over 100,000 miles, do i really need high synthetic oil or regular oil?

    • @2carpros
      @2carpros  5 лет назад +1

      I always recommend using regular Mobil 1 Full Synthetic and it is good to go 8k miles. I don't like the use of "high mileage oil" because they typically contain additives that swell seals which is not good. If your engine leaks you need to fix the leak not pour in some seal sweller. Thanks so much for watching!

    • @nodak81
      @nodak81 4 года назад

      5k for conventional oil, 10k for full-synthetic. I put half a million miles on my Prius changing it every 10k with cheap Walmart brand full-synthetic oil. Changing it every 3k is just a scam perpetuated by the oil companies and repair shops that want your money. Although I would recommend changing it at least once a year if you drive very little.

      If you find your engine is using some oil or leaking a bit of oil between oil changes you would need high mileage oil. Otherwise you can use regular oil. High mileage oils do have chemicals in the oils to help the engines. I would listen to the engineers on this subject.

    Quick Warning, Beware of using any Band Wrenches or anything metal when removing the oil filter. You will most likely hit a power cable to the starter and will cause it to arc. Best advice is to use a rubber filter removal tool to avoid arcing the with the starter.

    Nicely explained video. However what no muthaduckin body says in any of these videos. & in this comment section Tyler is the only one to say something any kind of similar....when changing the oil cover up the starter so oil doesn't get on or into the starter.and if you do congratulations you have starter problems as I do. 👍🏽

    Manufacturers generally recommend changing oil every 16,000 kilometers

    • @2carpros
      @2carpros  4 года назад +2

      That seems too long to me. The more frequently you change your oil the longer your engine will last. Thanks for watching!

      I'd say it depends on the car, but every 10,000 seems like a lot. I have a 2002 taurus and I like to change the oil every 4,000-5,000 miles. Runs like a dream.
