Nice clean Banshee,I had a 1989 Banshee with a dynoport 2 into 1 exaust. Still have 2 1985 Tri-Z 250's, 1983 ytm200 and 2 2000 Blasters,one Blaster is almost stock and the other is,,,, scary ;) All just sit in the garage lookin good. I wish they would bring 2 strokes back. Also have 2 1990 Yamaha lawn tractors.
The Viking sweet banshee!! I’m on the lookout for one myself. So as far as the upgrades you said you want to do, I did all the same mods on my 96 with the Toomy T5’s as well and it was an animal!! I will say though, I got another in 03 and did the exact same thing except I went with the FMF SST pipes and was WAY better! The power comes in way lower and a lot smoother and still pulls your arms out of the sockets on the top end like the Toomy’s do. Just thought I’d throw my two cents in, either way, it will be fun.

When it be amazing if you could fuel injection set up that thing. I'll never forget my street bikes for always carbureted you know multiple cylinder balancing carbs blah blah blah. What a nightmare. But when I got my Ducati Monster and it was just automatic adjustment for every temperature change barometric pressure change hot cold didn't matter, it was awesome. That would be the ultimate setup try to figure out a way to get fuel injection on that thing if it's even possible

Sport quads are our younger crews profession! All kinds of 400s', 450r's, 700xx's, but only one Banshee. Y'all have a really nice looking Banshee, it takes a lot of man to ride them things, so you guys should be okay.

..... first impression when it rolled off the trailer looks like a kid's toy due to the size... sounds fast but my impression of him on the track terrible suspension terrible ergonomics terrible overall handling terrible stability and a cramped cockpit.... apart from the Nostalgia of owning a banshee I'll I'll choose a 1000 Scrambler over at any day... They don't have some of the luxuries of the modern 4x4s but riding sport quads is a whole different experience. We've all got the big 1000cc monsters and we love em but bangin gears on lighter more agile bikes is a blast.. The hyper capabilities of the bigger machines gets boring sometimes because they make everything super easy..
Why things like a time capsule good job. Looks like it's running a little Rich to me though. Got a question for you does it have to choke knobs? one on each carburetor or is there one lever that adjusts both knobs at the same time? I was just curious about that.
Yeah it was rich, that's the gas that was in it when he bought it.. One choke knob controls both carbs, not sure exactly how it restricts the airflow, I'd have to take a closer look..

Best sounding pipes, TOOMEY T5. RL POWER EQUIPMENT in verner Ontario Canada has a brand new never ridden but started once BANSHEE in the show room. Been offered 23 000 dollars and refused the offer.
Man I wish they would bring them back with an updated version. I was 9 in 06 when they quit making them 😭 I'd buy one off the show room floor if I could.

I couldn't agree more! I think the most likely thing to come out would be a fuel injected 450 (new TRX or something maybe) but it would kick ass if Yamaha dropped a 500cc 2-stroke quad! There's rumors of a YZ500 but I'm not sure if it's actually coming out or anything
Repaint frame new plastics etc everything is replaceable or able to clean no excuses they where made for like 20 years so parts for them.are easy to come by,

Do you know what 2 stroke oil the Viking uses?? You guys seem to like the smell of it. I have some quicksilver I grabbed while in a hurry but it doesn’t real smell at all. May order some amsoil interceptor 2 stroke oil unless the Viking has a suggestion 👍🏼 Oh and what tires are those?? Would look good on my scrambler! I want sport tires instead of mud claws Your a cool dude btw....but the Viking is REALLY cool 😎👍🏼
The Viking thanks man! I heard the dominator is more for racing motors that get tore down frequently and inspected because it doesn’t keep motor clean for long periods. I got a 400 scrambler and don’t plan on doing any tear down and just want it to run as long as possible. Would you still run dominator in one of those or interceptor??

I always wanted a Banshee after I rode the one our dealership here had repoed with a blown motor and their employees got together and rebuilt it with all new hi performance parts and when we'd all go riding they'd let me ride it because I'd had a Honda 250r ATC that was bored and stroked by them And boy I loved riding those 2-stroke smokers especially when I added that real good racing oil mixture to it
Dirt ObseXXion it's wild you can pull a wheelie extremely easy probably to easy I put the one I had over backwards several times and where you kick start a Banshee backwards like a motorcycle the 250R ATC you kicked it forward leaving you to hit your heel on the foot peg ( talk about hurt ) I used to take my niece riding when she was only a couple months old and she loved it now I take her kids riding on my Commander and both girls love it but only one of the twin boys does which is weird because when they were young it was the boy that does care a whole lot about it he is the one that did then But I think that I can get him back

A super clean one in the condition this one is in would be somewhere around 5-6k in the US.. Might not be worth it to add in shipping costs to Italy.. Good luck with the search!

@@warhob7695 LOL! Yes brand new to him, this was his first ride! 2,500 might not get you a great banshee anymore but it would be plenty for a really good quad! If that was my budget I'd be looking for something like a Z400 in really good shape.. But, it will really come down to what's available in your area.. Just don't be afraid of going after a Z400 or 400x because of the lower displacement, they're plenty fast and usually give you the best bang for your buck.. It sucks having a super fast quad that's never quite running right...
Dirt ObseXXion I have saw more than one veido of a Raptor vs a 1000 and the out come was always the same as the Raptor was off out the gate first but was soon past by the 1000 .

Banshees are so corked up with the stock pipes. I just got a mint 2001 that's all stock. She's fast and fun but I can tell there is still a lot of potential just waiting to be unleashed.

Does the Viking have any recommendations on where to take a 2 stroke for jetting and tuning?? My new scrambler 400 is bone stock, original, and has tons of compression. Lots of potential there to tap into. I’d like to pipe it and the pipe seller says it must be jetted and a new spring put on. I have no idea how to rejet and tune a 2 stroke. Polaris in bowling green don’t mess with 2 stroke anymore ( it’s been 20 years 😂). Need a good shop that can make my scrambler 4x4 scream!! Ps...does a scrambler 4x4 2 stroke qualify for saving the sport bikes?? Lol 😆. It’s pretty sporty accept for the 4wd 👍🏼. And secondly do you guys have a Facebook page??

That cant be 2008 plastics! Yamaha stopped making the banshee in 2006 with a special edition black and yellow design !! And it needs pipes so badly,and a proflo air, and they love lockout clutches
Yamaha didn't stop making the Banshee in 06... They stopped selling the US in 05 with the 06 model. It sold in Canada until 2008 and in Australia until 2012 . The orange plastics were available for 08-10 models... Pipes are on! Haven't done the clutch yet, but definitely appreciate that input!
@@DirtObseXXion should sound much better and will have alot more top end, my 2001 one industry's did, and had a modded air box, pro flo spacer, port and polished with cool heads, I ran 22/9 /10 itp Mudd lights and it would stand up In all gears!!! Was a crazy bike, now I ride a built 05 trx 450r best bike I have ever owned and I have ben riding bikes and atv's since 1989!
Yeah, the Banshee was cancelled in the US in 05 so the 06 was the last model years at dealers. It ran until 08 in Canada and 2012 in Australia and the orange came from those later years, 08-10..

I want one so bad but people want 7000$ for clapped ones. Hard to justify when you can buy a brand new yfz450 for like 10,000$. So hard to find a clean one that hasnt been rode like a cheap hooker. Thats by far the cleanest stock banshee ive personally seen though. Sick quad thats for sure.
You're right, they're crazy right now.. We got that one before they skyrocketed in price.. I'm thinking they'll come back down to earth eventually.. They really don't make great trail riding machines.. They're just ridiculously fun in small doses..

@@covid-mx9ng It's re-jetted now, still being dialed in a bit but next time it's out it'll look and sound a lot different.. We did a vid with the Toomey T5 install and you could see an oil buildup in the stock pipes..
I had a real nice bone stock banshee. Ran Klotz in at 32:1. Didn’t smoke much, never fouled a plug even when I lugged it on tight trails, had any mechanical failures and had a ton of power. I put many many hours on it without a single issue and rode it hard when there was room without the first sign of a problem. Try Klotz man, you’ll dig it for 2 strokes. There gear oil for the tranny worked great too. Unfortunately a huge tree branch fell on mine and haven’t been able to find one as nice as that since.
Anyone that rides quads knows the name Banshee. That is a minty unit for sure! good buy.

Don’t put a boost bottle on it. They don’t do anything for performance except for crack your intake boots over time. They’re a huge gimmick

Banshees are okay with stock exhaust, but once you put pipes on them they wake up and become exciting.

Do you know what 2 stroke oil the Viking uses?? You guys seem to like the smell of it. I have some quicksilver I grabbed while in a hurry but it doesn’t real smell at all. May order some amsoil interceptor 2 stroke oil unless the Viking has a suggestion 👍🏼

The Viking thanks man! I heard the dominator is more for racing motors that get tore down frequently and inspected because it doesn’t keep motor clean for long periods. I got a 400 scrambler and don’t plan on doing any tear down and just want it to run as long as possible. Would you still run dominator in one of those or interceptor??

Why is it smoking from only one exhaust?
It was in need of some tuning.. Once it got warmed up it ran ok, but its dialed in now with Toomey's, Reeds, and a Jet kit
I wrote my comment about the TOOMEY T5 pipes when he was warming it up. Lol when I heard the upgrade list

I always wanted a Banshee after I rode the one our dealership here had repoed with a blown motor and their employees got together and rebuilt it with all new hi performance parts and when we'd all go riding they'd let me ride it because I'd had a Honda 250r ATC that was bored and stroked by them And boy I loved riding those 2-stroke smokers especially when I added that real good racing oil mixture to it

Dirt ObseXXion it's wild you can pull a wheelie extremely easy probably to easy I put the one I had over backwards several times and where you kick start a Banshee backwards like a motorcycle the 250R ATC you kicked it forward leaving you to hit your heel on the foot peg ( talk about hurt ) I used to take my niece riding when she was only a couple months old and she loved it now I take her kids riding on my Commander and both girls love it but only one of the twin boys does which is weird because when they were young it was the boy that does care a whole lot about it he is the one that did then But I think that I can get him back

@@warhob7695 LOL! Yes brand new to him, this was his first ride! 2,500 might not get you a great banshee anymore but it would be plenty for a really good quad! If that was my budget I'd be looking for something like a Z400 in really good shape.. But, it will really come down to what's available in your area.. Just don't be afraid of going after a Z400 or 400x because of the lower displacement, they're plenty fast and usually give you the best bang for your buck.. It sucks having a super fast quad that's never quite running right...

Banshees are so corked up with the stock pipes. I just got a mint 2001 that's all stock. She's fast and fun but I can tell there is still a lot of potential just waiting to be unleashed.

Does the Viking have any recommendations on where to take a 2 stroke for jetting and tuning?? My new scrambler 400 is bone stock, original, and has tons of compression. Lots of potential there to tap into. I’d like to pipe it and the pipe seller says it must be jetted and a new spring put on. I have no idea how to rejet and tune a 2 stroke. Polaris in bowling green don’t mess with 2 stroke anymore ( it’s been 20 years 😂). Need a good shop that can make my scrambler 4x4 scream!!

That cant be 2008 plastics! Yamaha stopped making the banshee in 2006 with a special edition black and yellow design !! And it needs pipes so badly,and a proflo air, and they love lockout clutches
Yamaha didn't stop making the Banshee in 06... They stopped selling the US in 05 with the 06 model. It sold in Canada until 2008 and in Australia until 2012 . The orange plastics were available for 08-10 models... Pipes are on! Haven't done the clutch yet, but definitely appreciate that input!

@@DirtObseXXion should sound much better and will have alot more top end, my 2001 one industry's did, and had a modded air box, pro flo spacer, port and polished with cool heads, I ran 22/9 /10 itp Mudd lights and it would stand up In all gears!!! Was a crazy bike, now I ride a built 05 trx 450r best bike I have ever owned and I have ben riding bikes and atv's since 1989!
Legendary bike! Rode with a few guys who had one, Always wanted one or a 400 ex. Ended up with a raptor 700!

Yeah, the Banshee was cancelled in the US in 05 so the 06 was the last model years at dealers. It ran until 08 in Canada and 2012 in Australia and the orange came from those later years, 08-10..

Dirt ObseXXion ya big buck is a great track was hoping to have a buddy car pool w me and switch off for each race driving but he had something come up so we cant make it happen now! I cant do a season alone again its just too much between driving and money!
I want one so bad but people want 7000$ for clapped ones. Hard to justify when you can buy a brand new yfz450 for like 10,000$. So hard to find a clean one that hasnt been rode like a cheap hooker. Thats by far the cleanest stock banshee ive personally seen though. Sick quad thats for sure.
You're right, they're crazy right now.. We got that one before they skyrocketed in price.. I'm thinking they'll come back down to earth eventually.. They really don't make great trail riding machines.. They're just ridiculously fun in small doses..

@@covid-mx9ng It's re-jetted now, still being dialed in a bit but next time it's out it'll look and sound a lot different.. We did a vid with the Toomey T5 install and you could see an oil buildup in the stock pipes..
I had a real nice bone stock banshee. Ran Klotz in at 32:1. Didn’t smoke much, never fouled a plug even when I lugged it on tight trails, had any mechanical failures and had a ton of power. I put many many hours on it without a single issue and rode it hard when there was room without the first sign of a problem. Try Klotz man, you’ll dig it for 2 strokes. There gear oil for the tranny worked great too. Unfortunately a huge tree branch fell on mine and haven’t been able to find one as nice as that since.
Looks crazy fun but I think I’d rather have a bad ass dirt bike.
