I own both, nothing gets the blood pumping like that twin 2 smoker when PB kicks in. It's true its not as at home in the woods, but open road or dunes there is nothing better. I take my 5 year old with me on rides. When I ask him what he wants to ride he always picks the Banshee.
Yamaha banshee banshee ! First sport quad I ever tried. Ridiculous machine but It left it's mark on me for a lifetime. It's like nothing nothing nothing powaaaaaaaaaaa! ok brake brake brake. Rinse and repeat.

Lots of room for improvement on the stock banshee. From the crappy factory shifting to the suspension and front brakes. Smooth them over a bit and you have a bike that loves to be ridden on the pipe and absolutely rips!!
I prefer the honda 250r but the banshee is not bad at all.

Great fun comparison! I have a '21 Yamaha Raptor 700R-SE i got in June. Absolutely adore this big bore sport machine. Also have an '11 YFZ450X that has very low hrs. Im prepping it to race the Vet- over 40 class @ my local MX track here in NW Ohio.

You need two things to own a Banshee.. 1. Mechanical skill, and 2. A Will in order for when it kills you.. The ride area is private property. We help maintain it for permission to ride..

You're absolutely right about that KC! But still, a 20yr run of a machine and instant cult status when it was canceled is pretty impressive! Even the Raptor feels a lot more refined though.. The Banshee is just so super nuts...

@@LolliWANG505 banshee way better than Suzuki 500 .Debatable about the 250! Banshee has WAY more power outta the box I mean come on 100cc more an another piston, yes the 250 is better on track and handles better, but a banshee with pipes rapes a 250 in power and drag racing.

Sounds amazing dude, need a little help , i just got my banshee and i am new to it. I want to ask you about the premix ratio of petrol and oil, and can you please tell me that in liters, like 1 litre oil in how much liters petrol i should mix. I bought yamaha lube .
Yamaha lube is 40:1 we ain't on that liter shit, we're from fuckin Kentucky.. 😁🤘
I have a banshee that I purchased for a project build the engine is perfect condition its a pullstart + I am a beginner,technically ) never owned a quad but I’ve ridden them. Alot Quads not banshees in particular.
See I got the thing for 150$ and Ive been wanting a quad for well as long as I could remember … to me there ain’t a dam thing that could go wrong…because well I want one and thats that you could tell me Id end up dead an hour after riding and Id still get on the mf with a smile on my face.
After watching yalls video however I am wondering exactly that, see Im about 5’3” 125 lbs live in a rural backwoods city so My riding grounds are (the woods) & after watching this I feel like I’m going to end up sinking money into something that in the end will be a death trap. Should I go ahead and try selling this one and spending the money I would have to rebuild it on just buying another quad that I won’t kill myself on or should I just do what I was gone do in the first place & die happy😂? Because I know how I am and regardless of what I’m riding I KNOW that klutch is getting dumped.
I used to race harescrambles and cross country’s with a 99 banshee back in the day. I put 1 big carb and a 2 into 1 exhaust, cool head and open air box. It gave it way better bottom end and was more manageable in the woods. I did other stuff down the road but it was way better in the woods after getting more bottom end out of it. You do lose some top end though
That's pretty cool! It was never a popular woods racer but you know when do see one in the old Blackwater 100 vids or anything, that the dude riding it was a man's man! Lol!
I tried to race my quadzilla too haha. That was nuts.

@@DirtObseXXion yea it was a 570 stroker. Not a woods machine haha. I tried both quads on the mx track in the open classes. Had a 250r as well. Went 4 stroke and didn’t look back. Now I have a 2015 Polaris sportsman 1000xp for yard work and hauling deer haha times and money have changed ! Keep posting vids. They’re awesome!!

Emissions regulations... You won't see factory 2-stroke ATVs ever again.

I have not ridden a banshee in 30 yrs. Back then I was 14 and had an 86' Honda fourtraxx 250 x (no not the r but badass non the less to a 14 yr old) lol my cousin who was 18 at the time had a banshee. I Love the comfort of my raptor 700 and cant imagine the banshee is nearly as comfortable a ride. That being said I would love to ride one now as an adult just to compare one after the other.
Every ATV guy needs the opportunity to ride a badass 2-smoker once in a while..

The banshee is more of a straight bike. Drag strip,streets, and sand dunes they eat that crap up all day. Woods riding hahahaha nope not so easy.

Video footage is a solid 10! Definitely not a beginner's quad by zero means! Talk about one HELL of a ride though! A lot has changed since we "older guys" have taken the wheel of something like a sport quad! I can't give a solid personal comparison comment...though I will just say this, videos are awesome as always 👐

I recommend a modquad thumb throttle to help with that dual carb throttle pull. I got one and I could ride for hours in the cold with it now

It really makes that much difference? None of my other quads wear my thumb out like my banshee does
@@cbr600rrturbo oh yeah. The modquad throttles are almost an inch longer than stock so the pull is much easier. As for being in the cold though, that all has to do with how thick your gloves are and how well you can tough it.
@@cbr600rrturbo Adding length adds leverage so it makes sense.. The pull is mechanical so there's only so much you can do to make it easier
