I love how the acrylic hinges were so easy to mass produce and put adhesive on so that they're ready to cut and go! It takes so much time to stop while you're constructing the card and make two hinges. Very clever Time saver.
Jennifer! I really love that you now have time to answer some people’s questions. Usually someone else asks the same questions that I have, so thank you for answering- it’s appreciated! Your cards are fab as well! Thank you for all your hard work! Greetings from Perth, Western Australia!
Jennifer, Thousands of people know you through your RUclips videos...although you don't know many of us, I just wanted to say you are a beautiful person inside and out. Thank you for sharing your talent and helping this world 🌎 at becoming a little more beautiful.
Beautiful, but I will never do that kind of inlay as I'm already too slow completing a project. You work so very hard and it's much appreciated. The dies are beautiful and I would love to own some like this.
I am so glad to see you back and to say how much I missed you. You are so talented and are so wonderful in your sharing with all of us. God Bless and stay as wonderful as you are.
Thank you so much for sharing your prepping and organizing in action. I enjoy your videos because you teach so many new techniques and because your encouraging and easy to understand
So lovely! I really, REALY hope you go back to the Tim Holtz glass mat for filming; all of this white is blasting my retinas, especially when I have the rest of my computer set to dark mode.
Watching your videos is therapeutic to me,. It takes me into a state of meditation. In all the videos you make for US, it never feels that you are doing your work but it feels to me as if you took your precious time out to guide us to be creative.. To me Kindness means Jennifer. XO
I love everything about this card--the possible variations, the colors, the femininity of it all. I appreciate so much the way you encourage people to use what they already have to apply a technique, Jennifer, and I do that when I can. I rarely purchase a die/folder/stamp immediately after seeing a video. But I LOVED this; it was easy to see many potential applications of this bundle. So I priced out the stamp/die bundle and the plaid dies - what a blast it would be to make a bunch of these cards, to actually have the demonstrated stamps and dies! So I checked them out...about $70. Plus tax and shipping fees. On sale. Gulp! I decided to debate splurging (my birthday is this month!) but when I went back to look again, just an hour or two later, they were sold out. Recently it seems many newly released items are becoming quite pricey. Even colored envelopes, which I have been hankering for lately, add $.35-$.50 to the cost of EACH card--guess it's white ones for me. "No special dies needed" -maybe, but not nearly as striking with only basic shapes (rectangles, circles, ovals): How DO people afford it? I understand many of these companies are small and do not have big profit margins, and they have expenses associated with design and production. I just encourage them to be mindful that most of us do NOT create cards for a living, but as a hobby, a ministry, and/or as a creative outlet, and to be cognizant that most crafters have limited budgets. Or perhaps I am the outlier - after all, the set sold out so quickly! I am rather curious and wish I could poll other card makers: What is your typical monthly crafting budget? (My own answer is $35-40.). Maybe I should begin playing the lottery! LOL
yes, the prices are tough. sadly, they are charging what they have to - manufacturing costs have increased and there is only one US die manufacturer. :( that is why i chose to do a heart shape. many people have basic heart dies. would work the same way!
@@jennifermcguireink Thank you for making me think that I am not alone in my "sticker shock." I apologize for the whining...I REALLLLY loved these cards just as they are and admittedly wanted to be a copycat! The color palette and flowers won my heart. Interesting to learn there is only a single die manufacturer. But I have a plan now: 1) Use my basic heart die with some of the patterned paper in my stash that I rarely use now; 2.) Use my current embossing folders; and 3.) Search through my stamps for small flowers to imitate the floral pattern (initiate dramatic "It will have to do" back of hand-to-forehead. Follow with Scarlett O'Hara-type vow: "One day I WILL have dies to create an inlay! I will!") In all seriousness, I suspect doing this truly WILL end my whining as I learn the hinge-making technique, end up with some pretty cards, and just have fun. When I grow up and mature, I will learn to be content! I have so much for which to be grateful.
@@dking1362 I would encourage you to spend some time shopping at pretty pink posh really beautiful stamps and dies snd stencils some are very detailed and the pricing is dramatically less than other companies
Fun Hack!! I don't have acetate, so I folded over clear packing tape and cut it the same way as the hinge!! Made elephant shaped ones for baby cards- there's a free elephant shape on cricut.
WOW..... you've knocked it out of the park... and if you use your hubby's press and seal, I can see some of the inlay pieces being easier to find to add in. (I think I might be one that needs simpler)
My husband complaints that we are overweight on our RV due to crafting supplies.... but there are so many to be so creative🧡🧡. I love making stuff and you give me inspiration and ideas :)
What fun cards! The technique offers a variety of options that are almost endless and not difficult. They are especially nice for people like me who are not great at coloring and sometimes have limited time to put a card together for a special person or occasion. Thanks so much.
Thanks for all the great tips for creating these beautiful cards! I have an older Tonic White Glass mat with grid markings and 4.25 x 5.5 card marking and other grid sizing and angle design markings. It's a perfect size (14 x 14) for my desk top and I love it. I had purchased this prior to the introduction of the black glass mat from Tim Holtz and decided to keep it because of the size, plus I do like the white background. It cleans beautifully and is of course heat resistant.
Again, another great tutorial. I love your card making method using a technique that can be changed up yet still have unique one of a kind! Great video. Thank you.
Those heart cards are amazing. I went to check out the price and it's out of stock, so am getting notified when it's in stock again. I've never done the inlay on a card, but those are beautiful. Not sure I have the patience, but definitely want to try it. Thanks for the fantastic ideas.
I know you said that your coloring was off on this video but I enjoyed it. For me, your whites tend to completely wash out but I could see everything on this video. It was great! Thank you for all of your amazing videos!
Your creativity always AMAZES me!! This is a beautiful technique. I can’t wait to try it. Thank you so much for all your wonderful videos. I always learn so much from you!
Beautiful results, as always. This heart has a kind of folk-art feel to it. The technique of the hinge is so simple and effective. I've learned so much from your videos. I live in Europe, and I'm always taken a bit back by the expression "to do something quick". Card making, like any art form, isn't a sprint, but a walk, sometimes slow, sometimes brisk. OK, maybe speed isn't a topic for me because I don't have to make a bazillion of cards.
oh i agree. clearly, i like to spend a lot of time crafting lol. But there are some steps in the creative process people dont enjoy and would like to do faster. or they are not afforded much free time and want to make the best of it :)
Lovely cards, a pretty heart die set like this, with the stamps/stencils is a great treasure for one’s stash! Great process for those small, invisible hinges. Thanks! You’ve been a very busy person with so many ideas this last week or two! 💌
LOVE. LOVE this.. I've done one inlay, I kinda forgot about it.. love doing intricate things. Just went to buy the bundle set, and sold out. My luck. Acetate is hard to find at stores around here. So have to check on line. Going to check my dies out closer to try this with them. Great video. White background shows the color of cards better I think. Thanks for showing, I saved this to go back to..
Wonderful cards. I love how you go step by step with the instructions. It makes me feel I can do this too. Keep up the good work; you really are an inspiration.
As soon as I saw your InstaStory about a new video I was so excited! Another one! Your cards are always so beautiful 🥰 You often say "it looks better in real life" but how something can be better than perfection?! I admire you! Thank you for sharing your amazing talent 😘
I love how you show the short cuts you use when making a lot of the same type of cards. I need to get a supply of cards made and your hints will come in handy. I love the inlay cards. Putting the pieces together is like doing a jig saw puzzle which I love. Thanks for the video
Such beautiful cards Jennifer ! Very informative too, I have no idea how you do all that. Glad you do though, so thankyou for all the sharing and all the work you put in. Well worth it.
I bought the large glass mat and had it magnetized, it's exactly what I was looking for . Thank you! The coupon code helped so much. Please pass on my thanks to your friend. Great video as always, so many ideas.
This is my new favorite die cut card. So much to do with it. I LOVE IT!!! Just ordered the stamp and die separately since the bundle was sold out. I had to have it!
Love this!! I've been looking for a way to make a card for a teacher I have with enough room for everyone in the class to sign it with no luck and then tada here you are with the perfect solution, as ALWAYS, I KNEW YOU WERE AWEAOME, BUT HAD NO CLUE YOU WERE PSYCHIC THANKS SO MUCH
I really appreciate your ability to explain the design process, as well as your original card ideas. I loved the cards. My crafting collection grows after each of your videos! FYI: I think the black glass mat is better for filming-it’s a better contrast between the card colors and the background. Much better visually.
Sometimes when I want to cut out a die repeatedly, I will use double stick tape and strike the die directly to the upper cutting plate. I use an adhesive eraser to remove the stick when I am finished.
Jennifer not sure why but for me at the 56 second mark the video freezes until the 1:34 second mark. I like your new white work surface too! Love the cards! Your tips and hints were great
I agree with Rose...I think the black glass mat makes it easier to see the details of your beautiful cards.
Thank you for explaining the hinge method so well. The tips are a big help.

Perfect idea for mass producing birthday cards. Thank you.
I love the white background. I can see really well.
Very nice. I think my cart crafting supplies in the nursing home will allow me to try a few of the ideas I have watched. In the last few days. 💜
Thanks for sharing your gorgeous cards!
All the cards are beautiful!!! 🥰🥰🥰. Thanks for sharing your creativity and tips and tricks 😊🥰🎉
All of those tiny paper cut outs would make some lovely confetti for a spring themed shaker card!
Beautiful, but I will never do that kind of inlay as I'm already too slow completing a project. You work so very hard and it's much appreciated. The dies are beautiful and I would love to own some like this.
I love love love all these cards and techniques Jennifer! Thank you for always expanding my mind on how to make cards!!!❤
Excellent idea for the hinges. You are such an inspiration to me and others. Thank you for sharing Jennifer.

What's not to love about Concord & 9th? Love Love Love those hinged cards, your colors are always amazing. Thank you so much.
Very beautiful 🥰 hinged heart 💜 cards Jennifer. Love ❤️ them.
Very nice. Every last one
Thanks again for sharing another awesome card making video! I’m always so inspired after watching your videos 😊
Great ideas and cards. Thanks Jennifer.

Awesome cards...as usual from you, Jennifer. ❤️❤️
1. Lighting is perfect. 2. Love these ideas. 3. Your band-aid is back - now we know it's really you! :)
Jennifer, I looove this technique. i have so many dies that would probably work well with this technique. Thanks so much. 😊
Never apologize! You're giving us your time and experience to teach us! You're AMAZING!
Amber is fab, and I love her glass matt design. Great cards Jen!
Thanks so much!

Hello again. Love all the great ideas. Two videos in one day.
Great idea 💜I think I may be able to manage on my limited supplies 💜
These are just so beautiful, Jennifer. The paper makes it amazing!! Thanks for all your hard work, that you do for us all❤️
Just gorgeous!!
I like to use foam "paper" for die cut sentiments. You get the dimension with 1/3 of the effort.
I'm imagining Lawn Fawn unicorns floating over clouds using this technique too 😍 Wonderful technique, thank you Jennifer xx
I didn’t really notice the difference with the black mat. The cards were so beautiful that’s all I could see. 😊

Beautiful cards Jennifer!!

Great idea - works with a lot of current dies I have! Brilliant
Gorgeous cards! Thank you for the tutorial! 👍
Awesome designs. I love how you give so many different ideas for just one die. Love this.

Love the clear hinge idea!

I can see doing this with the book tree die and stamp from a couple videos ago. Maybe a woodgrain embossing folder for the base.
This is a wonderful demo and easy to follow, I'm going to give this one a try, thanks for all of the little tips you put in they always help.
