I have a shed to house that the Amish built. It looks like a little green barn and came to my specks and just as a shell but I did have the floor insulated. I insulated it and built in a small bathroom. It took me and my friend a few months and I then added a shed on one end (took 2days to build) with materials I repurposed from off marketplace. It has a4' loft for storage over the kitchen and an 8' bedroom loft over the front room. I just turned 69 and we had a lot of fun working on it with very little expense

Love the barndo idea.....insulation & wood lap or drywall walls inside. Over time when money's available. Definitely insulation. Build a bathroom & small bedroom....leaving the rest of to a GRAND space. Living room & kitchen combined w/ an island & stools.👍
We've lived in a 50×50 like this. It was perfect living.

Guy, from experience find an amish built she'd to house. They are much better built. The two-sided lofts, you can build kitchen under one and use the loft as storage.
We did a 14x24 for my son. Was enough room to do living room in the middle, bug bedroom with bath abd walk-in closet, then a game room on the other end. Has loft above gameroom for guest room and smaller loft above the kitchen area, we made storage space. We was able to do a gas fireplace in the living room, removed the barn doors and put French doors. It looks really nice.

The barndo is most sensible choice as far as longevity.

I'm glad I stayed to the end, for sure. Because you picked the very two sheds that were my favorites. Of course, "my" final choice would be the Repo. I love giving things a second life. Plus, I love to save money and refurbish stuff then sell it.. Right now, I'm turning an old large round clock into a pirate's porthole for a child's room. It will have the picture of a shoreline in the distance and seagulls, appearing like an outward view to the outdoors. I can't wait to see all you two plan to do. I'm excited for you both. Exciting times looking for sheds or barndos. I would think the shed floors would be warmer than cement flooring. When you are looking you will have peace when you find the ‘right’ one. 💜🐶

Are you looking for the word gambrel for those roof rafters? I think, from the video (not walking it in person) my fave is the mini barndo, but I liked that other metal one too. They both seemed the biggest. Fun adventure guys! ~ I think y'all are good at this too.

Guys keep in mind if you do one with an up stairs loft Murphy can’t do a ladder so if he sleeps with you all your gonna need room for an actual stair case of some kind!!!!! I love the mini barn do!!!! And if it has 2 lofts one side would be perfect for storage!!!!

I live in Grainger county Tennessee on 10 acres unrestricted. I just recently found out the State of Tennessee does not allow for someone to live in a shed to house. They do allow for you to live in a shipping container converted to house or in a tiny house, which I thought was weird. why not one but not the other. I love the shed to house, but I wanted to mention before you spent the money. You l can look up the information for yourself. Love you guys
Some counties don't pay much attention to that as much. Especially when no permit is involved. Also ya tell them it was erected on site.
@@neenster1000 My county would not even care . So are you saying if I put a shed together myself not pre made , Then I could get around the state legally? I really like the shed to house, but did not want to spend the money, time, and effort if the state could come in and tell me we can't have someone living in it. My daughter wants to come live on the property but she wanted her own house. Let me know because I will start looking again at the sheds. Thanks

Hate to be negative but I don't like any of that one bit! Low quality, hard with zoning, hard to insure, can't get a loan to do it, hard to sell - its all a money pit - Build a small house like Jared!
